Elway and Fox screwed Tebow over royally. All that lip service they paid him after the season about being the number one starter. It disgusts me that neither of these guys credibility comes into question at all. They showed no loyalty or appreciation, they did not live up to their word at all. To throw him onto the scrapheap just shows what spineless bastards Elway and Fox are.

Yes, Tebow is screwed right now. What team would give him a chance as a a starter now? I'm willing to bet very few teams want a guy that still has some work to do. They want an guy like Luck that will be an immediate star.

The Broncos should keep Tebow and let him watch and learn from Peyton Manning for the next two to three years. How better to become a quality passer than to learn from the greatest of them all? Not that I expect them to do this, Elway and Fox have made it abundantly clear that they want to get rid of Tim.

I hope this blows up in Elways face and it probably will. I don't even think Manning can overcome that inept defense and limited talent on offense.

I hope Peyton does well in Denver. However, I honestly think he should've retired and not risked further injury. He's already a proven HOF QB and could still make $$$ in endorsements. Like Favre, I think Manning's ego wouldn't allow him make the best choice.

As for Tebow, I'd say JAXFLA is the best option/team for him right now.

I'm certainly not going to root against Peyton in Denver. However, I too hope this somehow backfires on Elway, Fox, and Bowlen. Their treatment of Tebow has been reprehensible. Poor Elway, obviously worried that Tebow may someday eclipse his own popularity in Denver...if actually given the opportunity.

Manning is or will be 36 years old very soon. He has nothing to prove and is seriously risking his health. Although a four time MVP, and, arguably, the best QB to ever play the game, he has only won one Super Bowl. I'm not sure how much the contract was for or what the terms of it were, but anything less than a Super Bowl win will be considered a failure. They had better shore up their OL in the offseason and with their draft picks. I'd hate to be the Offensive Lineman that was responsible for missing a block that ended his career for good...and maybe worse.

Rookie Stats Comparison (Manning vs. Tebow). (Assuming, for all practical purposes, that last year was Tebow's "Rookie" year (starter))

Note that Tebow started only 14 games compared with Manning's 16. In some respects, it's an "apples" vs "oranges" comparison, considering the different styles played by each.

Yes, Tebow had a 46.5% Comp Pct and the jock-sniffing Caste "journalists" are always so quick to point that out, but how easy they forget how many dropped passes his receivers had last year too.

Anyway, it appears we may never know if Tebow could duplicate what Peyton did, because he probably won't be given the same opportunity, although, probably a better comparison would be to RGIII and Newton...both of whom will be given endless opportunities and not held to near the scrutiny as Tim.

I think the best possible scenario at this point is one that someone mentioned earlier: Tebow traded to Jacksonville with Blaine Gabbert going to Denver in return. Tebow would be openly embraced by the owner and would sellout every game for a team with attendance issues. Gabbert, while being momentarily screwed out of an opportunity to start, can take the Aaron Rogers route and learn under the tutelage of Manning. He's got the prototypical tools that Elway clearly favors so it would be win-win for both teams and win-win for fans of White athletes.

I think another thing people fail to realize when citing his low completion percentage was the fact that pretty much every attempt was way down the field, not to mention mostly on 3rd down. The average qb has a low completion percentage on deep plays as well as on 3rd down. They were playing more like it was 1977, running the ball constantly and the few times they passed, they made sure to pass it way down the field and take advantage of the dbs cheating up to the line of scrimmage. If he is going to be compared to qbs they should take a look at quarterbacks who played back in the day with heavy running games and the occasional deep shot.

From an article I just read:

Tebow's base salaries for the next few seasons are very cap friendly: $1.942 million in 2012, $2.266 million in 2013 and $2.590 million in 2014.

Heck, some team could probably get their return on that investment with just their portion of earnings from his jersey sales, not to mention the additional fans he'd bring to a stadium.

It goes to show that it's a Caste Market, not a free market, at work here.

I was just watching some Sportscenter at the car dealer while waiting for my oil change. They showed a tweet from Antonio Cromartie saying, "We don't need Tebow. If we need someone to run the wildcat we have Mcknight and Kerley." Is there any doubt that Tebow is the most hated NFL player and especially by blacks?

As always, Highlander demonstrates his immense astuteness.

Even if I were a Casteon NFL owner, I’d give anything to have Tim Tebow sign with my franchise. The never-ending publicity Tebow receives on television, internet, and radio (both good and bad) would have my team at the forefront of NFL conversation at all times during the 2012 season.

Last night, ESPN’s senior pencil-necked shrew, John Clayton, was suggesting that the Broncos may receive a 5[SUP]th[/SUP] round pick for Tebow. This transaction, should it occur, would be utter capitalistic lunacy. Due to the ruthless affirmative action currently in place, 1[SUP]st[/SUP] round draft picks rarely pan out in the NFL…and 5[SUP]th[/SUP] round picks rarely make the 53-man roster as a rookie.

What kind of “businessmanâ€￾ wouldn’t want to cash-in on Tebow-Mania? Who wouldn't covet one of the most intriguing men in NFL history? Who would deny a player that could instantly produce legions of Christian football fans shadowing his every move?

I felt that Jacksonville should've taken him when he was up for the draft. The amount of money that the franchise could have made in fan enthusiasm would have been enormous. With his built in local fanbase and national following it was a no-brainer. But of course they didn't care and are instead a franchise "in trouble" able only to survive through the vanity of a rich foreigner wanting a team to own and the leagues profit sharing.

I think the league wants to prove that it is above the base interest of the fans and can push it's cultural marxist agenda even if that means losing money. When you think of the gall it must take to mistreat the guy that got you to the playoffs and won a game and the money he generates?!?!?!

Caste-market instead of free market is exactly correct. There is no better illustration of the mentality that drives decisions in the NFL then the treatment that Tebow has received. As much as I like Manning it would be poetic justice if he was hurt and couldn't play and Denver reverted to being crappy without Tebow.

it's being reported that Tebow has been traded to the Jets for a 4th-round pick.

in my opinion, the Jets got a HUGE bargain. best of luck to Tim in the crazy dysfunction that is the Jets locker room.

If true that ends the Tebow thing.

How can a guy like that flourish in an environment like that? And the Jets need another young QB that the media and oppressive fan base can beat up on? Seriously I cannot think of a worse thing to do to Tebow. Rex Ryan for God's sake????

I like the trade. Ryan and Sanchez are both on notice that the team has to improve on the field, and in the locker room. A lot of DWFs have turned on Sanchez and Tebow has a decent chance to replace Sanchez as the starter at some point next season or the season after, whereas if he was traded to Jax or Miami he would be trying to replace a fellow White QB. It could turn out to be a circus atmosphere with the Jets but it could also turn out well for Tim. There'll be a lot more pressure on Sanchez to produce than Tebow. They may start Tebow out just as a wildcat player and gradually increase his role.

I don't like it. I still think this was a back room decision by the power players who own and report on the NFL.
What better way to dissolve Tebow's support than to ship him to the most Jewish city in the United States (possibly the world)? He might still win over the fans, but that's certainly not what the owners and ESPN want.

So let me understand...the guy who was responsible for more fans tuning into games then any other player in the league, who generated so much publicity (both for and against) for most of the season, the guy who made the first round playoff game must watch TV for the whole nation and threw an overtime clinching long TD pass, is traded and merely worth a 4th round draft pick, and is expected to be 2nd string or play an occasional "wildcat" play, in the following season? Does that make sense to anyone?

I know the world has gone crazy in a lot of ways but I still can't get my mind around this one.

Just to play devil's advocate, I have no problem with Tebow being a backup for the next season or two. He was a lot more raw in the passing game last season than I expected. A great talent like Eric Decker basically became a bystander as Tebow looked only to Demaryius Thomas. He clearly needs work reading defenses, looking over the field, and getting rid of the ball quicker, not to mention his accuracy was poor a lot of the time. I want him to be a superstar, but right now I'd categorize Tebow as one of the worst QBs in the league as far as being capable of starting.

I guess if you are going to talk bad about Tim Tebow you are being a
'devil's' advocate! :icon_wink:

Unfortunately a couple of years on the bench isn't going to make him more accurate is it? And they don't really do that too much anymore. He either plays now with the unique style that works for him or gets forgotten and becomes merely a footnote. Probably everyother guy on the roster is going to look better then him in practice so I can't see him apprenticing because his strength is what he brings to the actual game, not how sharp he looks in practice or in the meeting room.

Personally I think it's over for him. He had a good thing going with the way things broke for him in Denver and now that's done. To get all that somewhere else---the team playing crazy for him, guys holding hands and preying together, defense playing way over it's head, all of that was a special deal and it's been trashed and thrown out. I predict that Tim Tebow will become like a Mark "the Bird" Fidrych of football. A one year phenom that excited the hell out of a lot of people but could not get the magic back when things changed for him.

I also have to say this is a pretty bad scenario for Tebow. Don's prediction may come true, but it's also possible now that Tebow may never again play QB in the NFL. He might become some hybrid QB/HB/TE who gets 10 or so snaps per game. This is a stunning reversal of fortunes for him. I'm having a severe case of bigunrealitis right now.

I have more "faith" in Tebow than that. And if he can't become more accurate and learn the pro passing game better, then quite frankly he doesn't deserve to be a starter. I've said the same things about numerous black QBs who were good runners but weak in the passing game. After watching Tebow at Florida I'd thought he'd be a better passer than what he's shown so far. He needs to improve; he certainly can't get by continuing to "pray" for miracle endings to games after not doing anything for the first 3 3/4 quarters of them.

661 of 995 (66.4%) for 9,285 yards with 88TD and 16INT (5.5:1 ratio, better than Griffin's supposedly "amazing" 4.6 ratio)

Tebow was a highly accurate passer before the "mechanics gurus" got ahold of him. He's still suffering from those alterations to his delivery. That's why so many of his passes look so painfully awkward.
If Greg Maddux were forced to throw submarine, he'd look like shìt, too.

As usual, Don is on target. Tebow isn't yet a Super Bowl QB off his performance last season.

The trade that was on and then off is now finally official. The Jets have landed Tim Tebow 100% despite the Jags making a late run. I would have rather seen him go play in Florida. The chance of him beating out Sanchez will be less than great as NY is in love with Sanchez. Why I don't know. Probably the huge number of hispanics there. Sanchez has not been what they thought he would be as of yet but the book is still open. The Jets did spend alot to get Tebow so maybe the job will be up for grabs. That would be an exciting training camp.
