Don, it was actually tie games in the regular season that McNabb discovered- although still a bit shocking that he was oblivious to that rule being a veteran QB. I'm not a McNabb hater, but I can't stand the racist "Blackskin" team overall. Snyder is a cultural Marxist just like Dan Rooney.

When I wrote that I wasn't sure I had it right so should have fact-checked it but was rushing to post. Not being aware of tie games isn't as bad as not knowing about overtime, but it's still an astounding admission from a veteran NFL quarterback.

Redskins fan here. Under Snyder, the 'skins have been a never-ending trainwreck that transcends race, though still having our share of racial issues, as mentioned in this thread (plus the travesty of Campbell starting FIFTY games). The owner knows nothing about football yet tries to run every aspect of the team, so as a natural result he's ruined it. "seems to possess a serious hatred for whites and limited football knowledge" sums him up perfectly. I agree that he probably wants the acclaim that will come from fielding the first "all-black" team -- this will probably happen after Cooley's contract expires.

The stupid McNabb benching is just par for the course for the Redskins. Mediocre as he's been this season, the main problem Sunday was the O-line. He should have been allowed to finish the game, and then if Shanny still wanted Grossman as the starter, then he'd have two weeks to bring him up to speed.

It just keeps getting better.

JaMarcus Russell reportedly weighed in at 286 pounds in Tuesday's workout with the Redskins.
<div ="s_pNewsTextMain">
So the Redskins did his agent a favor by granting him a workout, and
he's still pushing three bills? Russell has had months to get in shape
for workouts. He's still not taking his NFL career seriously

I really think Shanahan has Jake Locker targeted in next years draft.

This is a hilarious and entertaining (kind of like a bloodless train wreck) situation. Here we have a typical modern day white authority figure, who clearly is displeased by the lackadaisical, half hearted effort his "star" player consistently expends, yet he is restrained by his own allegiance to political correctness from telling the truth.

Shanahan's explanations make no sense. The more he tries to undo the damage, the more infuriated he gets the always angry black talking heads and their pathetic white peers. I've even heard local jock sniffers on the radio wondering if there are "racist overtones" to this story. I don't feel a bit sorry for Shanahan. Mr. "ego" and "control freak" needs to learn how to speak his mind about these matters. But then again, the same thing could be said about every other white authority figure who has unnecessarily apologized (and done themselves no favors in the process) over the past 40 years or so.

It has almost reached the point where it has become illegal for any coach to bench a black quarterback, for any reason.

McNabb is a slob, a "modern athlete" if you will... Youngin' Matt Stafford threw 4 TD passes, besting the "great" Donovan.

Shannahan's three official reasons for the "iniquitous benching"Â￾ are as follows"¦

1) McNabb wasn't as well-versed in the two minute offense as Grossman.

2) McNabb lacked the cardiovascular endurance to run the two minute offense.

3) McNabb had hamstring issues.

The dark future of football's totalitarian caste system, as bigunreal mentioned, is to disallow the benching of non-white football players. This policy will be molded in the same vein as the future of the American (in)justice system"¦that non-whites cannot be arrested for crimes they've committed.

So McNabb's benching was "racially motivated,"Â￾ huh? I believe that in the late 1990's, Mike Shannahan became the first NFL coach to field an all-black defensive roster (all-black starters, all-black backups). Shannahan is undoubtedly a white supremacist. Har, har.

I hope the Zionist media overlords make this negro-aficionado hurt.Edited by: Thrashen

It was the 2003 Broncos that had no White defensive players on the roster. After that season Denver signed John Lynch.

Jew sportswriter John Feinstein calls for the firing of Mike Shanahan for the racist benching of Donavon McNabb...

Beware to any owner, gm or coach who trades for or drafts a black quarterback. You better get the right one, because you cannot bench or trade him unless you replace him with another black quarterback. A/K/A once you go black...Edited by: icsept

So "the freak" LaVar Arrington last played in 2006.. interesting. I do have a recollection that he was on the Giants' in 2006, as I did watch some early season Giants' games.

He never had a 100-tackle season, and he played every game in '02 and '03. He would have had a 100-tackle season in '01, but he missed 2 games.

Nonetheless, it looks like "all" 3 of his picks came in one season and all 6 of his FFs came in another season. It shows a general lack of consistency.

Rick Reilly calls Feinstein the tool he is, from ESPN.com

This week, John Feinstein, the Washington Post columnist, said something that reminds me of a kidney stone I once had. I just couldn't let it pass without some gnashing of teeth.

Feinstein went on the Post's video blog and essentially called Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan a racist for benching Donovan McNabb in the Redskins' loss to Detroit in their most recent game.

"I think there's racial coding going on here, and it's my belief that that kind of behavior is worth firing a coach for," Feinstein claimed Tuesday. "Dan Snyder's not gonna do it, but I think it's out of control."

Just to recap, Feinstein wants a two-time Super Bowl-winning coach fired after half a season because he pulled McNabb with less than two minutes to go in favor of a white backup, Rex Grossman. Shanahan said McNabb wasn't as familiar with the team's two-minute offense as the backup.

Enter Feinstein.

"The first spin [Shanahan uses] is that [McNabb] doesn't know the terminology for the two-minute offense, i.e., he's stupid," Feinstein opined. "The next day, it's, well, his cardiovascular, he's out of shape, i.e., he's fat." And that's when Feinstein dropped the "racial coding" thing, i.e., Shanahan's a racist.

Just reading those lines drops a person's IQ all the way to wrestling-fan level.

Feinstein is touching a cold stove top here and pretending to burn his finger.

The head throbs. Are we really going there? In 2010?

First of all, so what? Maybe McNabb isn't as familiar with Shanahan's two-minute offense as Grossman was. After all, Shanahan's playbook is thicker than the Oxford English Dictionary. And McNabb hasn't had to learn a new NFL offense since he was a rookie. He didn't know the overtime rule last year. Was it racist to call him on it?

Second of all, so what? Maybe McNabb is out of shape. Anybody remember reports of McNabb dawdling to the line during the crucial minutes of Philadelphia's Super Bowl loss to the Patriots? Remember reports of him throwing up in the huddle?

What is Feinstein saying? That's it's not possible Grossman knew the two-minute offense better? That it's not possible for a white guy to be better at something than a black guy? That's it's not possible for a black guy to be out of shape? If that's the logic, what follows is: Black people are never inept. Apparently, according to Feinstein, white people have cornered the market on it. And if you think a black person is inept occasionally -- like McNabb -- go stand in the racist line.

Benching McNabb was a boneheaded mistake, of course. Doesn't matter how little McNabb knew the two-minute offense, doesn't matter how out of shape he was; I'd rather have McNabb on one leg dragging an IV than Grossman. So Shanahan didn't want to cop to his mistake. Doesn't make him a racist. Makes him the George S. Patton I've always known him to be.

But that's no reason to call a good man a racist.

"We didn't always have the best relationship," says Shannon Sharpe, who played for Shanahan for 10 seasons. "He's tough, demanding and sometimes unrealistic, yes. But racist? Nope. Watch the game film. You'll see why Mike pulled him."

I've known Mike Shanahan for 30 years, since he started as an assistant on Dan Reeves' 1980 Denver Broncos team. I know some things about Shanahan that might be news to Feinstein.

Does Feinstein know that Shanahan was the guy who gave Rick Smith his first job in an NFL personnel department? Smith went on to become the league's first black GM, at Houston.

Does Feinstein remember how Shanahan campaigned to help his wide receivers coach, Karl Dorrell, become the first black head coach in UCLA's history? And that he let him leave in the middle of the Broncos' season to do it?

Does Feinstein know what Shanahan did after receiving the call telling him that Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams had been killed in a drive-by shooting? He wept. On the phone.

Wasn't it Shanahan who wanted McNabb in the first place? Convinced Dan Snyder to trade for him? Wasn't McNabb black then? Or was there something wrong with the racial coding on Shanahan's flat-screen?

If Donovan McNabb can't do something well, or screws up, or fails, can't it just be "Donovan McNabb screwed up?"

I wonder if Feinstein would say the same thing about Eagles coach Andy Reid? Remember him? He's the guy who tried to dump Michael Vick last offseason and got no takers. He's the guy who traded McNabb within the division in order to start an untested white QB, Kevin Kolb. Turned out Kolb wasn't nearly as good as Vick. Is that a fireable offense? Anybody have Jesse Jackson's cell number?

People, we're better than this.

If Donovan McNabb can't do something well, or screws up, or fails, can't it just be "Donovan McNabb screwed up?"

And if Mike Shanahan makes a dumb coaching move and is too stubborn to cop to it in front of the world, can't it just be "Mike Shanahan blew it?"

Why must it be about race? Like that kidney stone, didn't we pass this years ago?

At McNabb's age it is like throwing money away (20 million) on a guy who will be out of the league in two years tops. Almost as bad as the contract the Bungles gave Super Jumbo Sumo Andre Smiff.

McNabb is playing poorly this year, his first with Washington. He's thrown 7 touchdowns to 8 interceptions so far. He's already 34 and he was never even that good to begin with. It looks like Dan Snyder is trying to make a statement with this deal. He's proving to us he's dumber and a bigger afflete-worshiper than we thought.

Wasn't it over 10 years ago that Dan Snyder that he could buy a Super Bowl team with signing overhyped affelets. Look how that worked out. I guess he loves giving money to affelets to don't produce on the field and even stay at home drinking the "Purple Drank" while still getting paid big dollar.

Not guaranteed of course, but the timing of this, right before MNF,seems designed to "make amends" for Mike Shanahan's heinous crime of benching McNabb.

Agent: $78M deal for Donovan McNabb

The Washington Redskins and quarterback Donovan McNabb have agreed to a contract extension.

McNabb's agent, Fletcher Smith, told The Associated Press that the extension is worth $78 million over five years, with $40 million of the deal guaranteed. A source told ESPN NFL Insider Michael Smith, who first reported the agreement, that McNabb's contract could be worth $88 million if incentives in the contract are reached.

McNabb, who will turn 34 later this month, agreed to an extension just two weeks after he was benched at the end of a loss to the Lions because coach Mike Shanahan said the quarterback didn't have a grasp of the team's 2-minute offense.

This one incident is indicative of what is wrong with the castesystem. Giving enormous money to affelets on the down slope. We see this with countless other affeletic players. And 40 million guaranteed!

I wonder how Synder got rich? This deal doesn't make sense. I could see if McNabb was in his late 20s and at the height of his game but now he is minus 2. 1. Age and 2. Diminishing skills he had. I guess the amount is secondary, get affelets who were once good, on the field at all costs. It will work out in the end......NOT

I'll bet $40 million isn't guaranteed. Even Dan Snyder isn't that stupid when it comes to paying football players. But then again, Albert Haynesworth is the 100 Million Dollar Crybaby.

I can't believe this, yet with the history about McNabb in Philly I believe this extension. He is having the worst season of his career since his first and he gets an automatic 4 year extension. Whenever I hear Feinstein talk on Jim Rome or another radio show I think about Rick Sanchez and his comments about Jon Stewart. He's John Stewart without any humour...

Almost unbelievable, until you remember that this is the pro-black, anti-white, caste system NFL.

Although I won't be able to stomach watching the game tonight, I'm almost hoping ConVick wins this one just to show that in this economy, $78 million doesn't buy you what it used to.

The McNabb deal is such transparently ridiculous racial pandering. Good for you Dan Snyder, your coal black franchise will continue to be mediocre for 5 more years.

You said it! Unreal. It was also a HUGE slap in the face to the head coach.

Meanwhile, quality White players like Adam Carriker, who quietly go about their business and give 100% every day, on every play, whether in practice or in primetime, get a relatively paltry amount of money for their relatively superior production in comparison to McNabb or Haynesworth. Just another proof-positive example of the extreme Affirmative Action policies in this joke of a "professional" football league.
