Two stalwarts of this list are now off the list as Marty Krulee and Kevin Little were at or near the top of this list for years. Teeters and Quinn are two what ifs to me as both never had a serious run as pro runners. Both Little and Krulee ran for years on the pro circuit and Little made both indoor and outdoor world teams and won a world indoor title and multiple minor medals. Here's an updated list:
1/ Kalen Walker 9.94 2025 1.1w 2/ Cole Beck 9.97 2023 1.3w 3/ Matthew Boling 9.98 2022 1.6w 4/ John Teeters 10.00 2016 1.9w 5/ Devin Quinn 10.01 2019 1.3w 6/ Sam Blaskowski 10.05 2025 1.1w 7/ Tyler Azcano 10.09 2023 2.0w 7/ Richard Jewell 10.09 2022 1.3w 7/ Chance Cross 10.09 2025 -0.2w 10/ Brody Buffington 10.10 2025 0.0w 10/ Austin Kresley 10.10 2023 1.0w
It doesn’t mean much but I decided to ask ChatGPT to estimate what Larry Quelstad’s time would be today and it estimated it to be a 9.98-10.04. Kind of interesting.Kevin Little's 10.14 from 1998 has to be worth about 10.05 these days.
And Larry Questad's 10.18 from 1968 has to be even better.
I wish there was some formula to update times from years ago, to their 'value' today.
