Brutal, we miss you!
I noticed he was "back" but it seemed he was playing nice by his standards so I didn't out him earlier than White Lightning did.

As for this list it's missing Archie Hahn who is the only short sprint triple medalist in Olympic history. There could be others but he was obvious.

One guy missing is Devin Quinn who is the fastest sprinter in Big 10 History. Quinn ran a wind legal 10.01 to win the Big Ten Championship which is the all time record.

We will also be able to add Matthew Boling to this list sometime soon as Boling is rewriting the record books in the sprinting categories!

I've made a list of the Top 100m (FAT) times by white Americans, and also by white British sprinters.
It's interesting that despite the much larger American population, the British list is slightly better - faster leading time, and faster time in the 10th position.

USA
1/ John Teeters 10.00
2/ Devin Quinn 10.01
3/ Matthew Boling 10.11
4/ Kevin Little 10.14
5/ John Woods 10.16
6/ Larry Questad 10.18
6/ Shane Crawford 10.18
7/ Marty Krulee 10.19
8/ Jason Leach 10.20
9/ Jackson Webb 10.22
9/ Cole Beck 10.22

Great Britain
1/ Adam Gemili 9.97
2/ Richard Kilty 10.01
3/ Andy Robertson 10.10
4/ Allan Wells 10.11
5/ Craig Pickering 10.14
6/ Ian Mackie 10.17
7/ Cameron Sharp 10.20
7/ Elliott Bunney 10.20
7/ Dominic Ashwell 10.20
10/ Jamie Henderson 10.21
10/ Allyn Condon 10.21
10/ Kyle de Escofet 10.21

(Also, Danny Talbot 10.14 )
Side note - 5 of the British sprinters are Scottish!

Excellent work jacknyc. Your list is ever better than the previous one as it's more modern and you also put the personal best times by the sprinters name. Love it! :) I'm hoping you can edit this list in the very near future with
Quinn and Boling. Cole Beck is capable of going faster as well as Jackson Webb. Would love to see Teeters continue to run. Even on the Great Britain Team, we still have 3 or 4 of these guys still sprinting that can improve this
times possibly in the future!

Yes, let's see if Boling and Webb can move up this list, and if Zack Jewell can add his name to it.

I thought that Clyde Peach ran a 10.01 at the USA outdoor championship in 1968 or did the wind disqualify his time?

Teeters has retired from racing, sadly. SO close to breaking the 10-second barrier, yet he will never accomplish the feat. alas! what may have been ...

Clyde Peach may have run a 10.1 hand timed, but definitely didn't run a 10.01.
I can't find that mark anywhere.

Back in this era FAT timing wasn't fully adopted at all meets and many meets still only timed to the nearest tenth of a second so his pb would have been either 10.0 or 10.1. Also back in this era I seem to recall only Paul Nash(White South African) having a flat 10.0 time among active White sprinters.

On another note Nash is a real what might have been as he had medal potential in the 100 for Mexico city but he was barred from competing because of his home country being barred from 64' through to 92'.

Paul Nash is a South African sprinter who tied the 100-metre world record four times in 1968 with a time of 10.0 seconds. He attended Michaelhouse school in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. His most celebrated race in South Africa occurred on 2 April 1968 when at the Krugersdorp stadium he equalled what was then the world record of 10.00.

Great work by Avante and JackNYC!

Clyde Peach definitely deserves inclusion. In the late 1960s he ran a 9.2 100 yards and a 10.1 100 meters, hand timed. Still absolutely smoking times. FAT is of relatively recent vintage and when first introduced only used in big meets.

One thing to keep in mind about the sprinters in the days of yore. When Charley Paddock ran in the 1920s, Frank Wycoff in the 1930s, Mel Patton in the 1940s, and others until the early 1960s, the tracks were dirt, many not particularly good. Paddock ran a 9.5 100 in the 1920s. Frank Wycoff broke his record with a 9.4 in the 1930s. Mel Patton broke Wycoff's record with a 9.3 in 1948. Patton's record wasn't broken until 1961 when Frank Budd ran a 9.2. Mel Patton held the 100-yard-dash record for 13 years! I hate to think what Pell Mell Patton would have done on these new artificial track surfaces. Patton ran a wind-aided 9.1/9.2 at UCLA in an SC-UCLA dual meet. UCLA's track was not known for producing fast times. Since every time Patton ran, there was a possibility of a record there were always many official stopwatches timing him. The watches were split between 9.1 and 9.2. There were unofficial watches that had Patton in 9.0. Patton quit running shortly after he graduated from SC. He didn't start running until high school and then it was by accident. He was in the 10th grade in a P.E. class at University High School (Unihi) in West Los Angeles and the teacher had everyone run a 50 yard dash. Patton smoked everyone by many yards. The teacher got ahold of the track coach and they talked Patton into running track. He later led Uni to the L.A. City track championship, winning both the 100 and the 220.

Thanks for the post Thousand Okie.
Yes, there have been some amazing sprinters in the past, with Mel Patton being at the top, or very close to the top of the list.
So interesting that he got into track by accident! That's been true of several other sprinters too (Pietro Mennea for example).
Hal Davis in the 1940s was another tip top American sprinter.
Certainly they would both be in on an all-time white American sprinter list.

My list is strictly the best time wise.
Since it is 100m and FAT only, it is comprised of only sprinters from the last 50 years.

Great thread, looks like White American men lost the ability to regularly be top sprinters about the same time they lost the ability to run and catch a football and play defense. It couldn't be part of an obvious social and political agenda reinforced by endless media propaganda could it?

Amazing. I didn't know about Nash. What a crime that he was not allowed to compete in the 68 Olympics. That Olympics really ushered in the whole black power/black superiority regime that has darkened my entire life. The evil forces that run this planet could not have some white guy setting an example on a stage that big. Someone above commented on the poor quality tracks some of these pioneers ran on. From the pictures, it looks like this was a factor for Nash. What would he have done in Mexico City?? We'll never know.

They either keep you from competing or go after you for drugs. Look at what they did to Kostas Kenteris. They never made a scapegoat of any black sprinter like they did to this olympic and world champion. Do you guys have any idea how
many black sprinters have been busted for peds? The list is endless including olympic and world champions. Even so many world record holders. So why did they go after the white sprinter Kenteris and let so many others get a pass. Well
because it goes against the agenda. The world must believe that blacks are the greatest athletes in the world. We cannot have white people resisting this. The powers that be are very sick and as anti white as they come.

Pretty amazing to think of how fast all of these athletes truly were and for all these black sprinters who run now - non-stop training (as in it's their only lot in life), doping in some cases, access to sports medicine etc. and these stellar white athletes of yesteryear were just as fast.

That's why I included the British Top Ten as well.
The USA has 5 times the population of Britain, yet the British Top 10 is better than the USA's.
How can that be?
Because potential white American sprinters are steered towards other events.
Even Matthew Boling, who is one of the fastest high school sprinters ever!, had to ask his coach in his senior year, to run the 100.
You would have thought that his coach might have noticed his incredible talent, and had him running the 100 for his entire high school career. But no.

Meanwhile, several of the US sprinters on this list come from very white areas. Questad from Montana; Teeters - Colorado; Little - Iowa; Woods, Colorado; Crawford - Indiana.
If they had grown up in more 'diverse' places, they probably wouldn't even have had the opportunity to participate and develop in the sprints.
Otherwise there would be more white sprinters from more populous parts of the country. The population of Montana, Colorado, Iowa, and Indiana combined is quite small, yet accounts for half the sprinters on this list.

Even on the British list, 5 of the sprinters are from Scotland.
Scotland has less than 1/10 the population of England, but a less 'diverse' population.
So similar to the USA, even Britain is getting a good portion of their best white sprinters, from areas that are predominately white.

This all goes to show two things:
1/ Whites are much less likely to be given a chance to develop unless they grow up in very white areas.
2/ But if given a chance to develop, whites can be very good sprinters

Conclusion - There could be, and would be, more top white sprinters if not for the caste system which generally steers them away from these events.

Nice work my friend. Yes I remember reading that a couple of times when you first posted in. Another head scratcher as to why whites can't compete? Let's ask Jon Entine. I still hate the book he wrote full of so many lies.
