The truth is that I was expecting him to have a perfomance soon to Ramil Guliyev. They both have that once in a life time talent. Yes he did kill them on the relay leg. Some of the young kids call it walking down someone. He is special. It is only a matter of time for him. Happy birthday Christophe!

how about that Harry Aikines-Arteetey last leg? I never seen a gorilla run so fast. and I'm not making a racial slur, the kid looks like a god dam gorilla! he makes Ben Johnson look tiny. hands down PED abuser. really feel bad for Pickering being surrounded by drug cheats!
anyway, happy B-day Lemaitre!

Come on albinosprint, you know Arteetey is just born like that. He looked like that as a baby. At least that is what the dwf's, media, scouts, and coaches think despite how many black athletes are caught juicing. That is why I said in another post in some ways it would be good to run for a different country. You won't see all the guys on peds and also the white sprinters support each other.

Christophe will be running the 200m and the relay at the SPAR European Team Championships June 20-21 in Portugal. Cerutti will also be running the relay.

Nice. I bet he can get into the 20.3 0r 20.40 range. His future may be in the 200, but I want him to run both the 100 and 200 at the Championship meets to ensure a white sub 10. I am not sure what event he's better at.

I worry about France trying to push Lemaitre into strictly the 200 eventually. They have at least two sprinters in the 100 who they prefer and more on the way. He needs to continue running both events. This kid is the real deal. Sub 10 and sub 20 in the future with continued hard work. He can be one of the biggest stars in the world. I wish I could run the 200 like that! Please Christophe, keep running both events. Don't take no for an answer. France has a legitimate threat at both distances for the next decade! Good luck to Chrisotphe next weekend. Can't wait to watch it online!

France finished 2nd in the Relay. I'm sure they are a little dissapointed. Hopefully Christophe will take out his frustrations tommorow in a new p.b. in the 200. I would be happy in anything from the 20.50's on down. Good luck Christophe.

I don't get it. Lemaitre didn't even run in the 200. It's been a strange weekend. I was hoping to see him compete. Does anyone know when his next race is? Thanks.

According to the French publication, Le Parisien, Lemaitre voluntarily withdrew from running the 200 meters due to a groin injury which had been bothering him since running in the 4x100 on June 20th. The article seems to imply that the injury is not serious, citing that Lemaitre skipped the 200 as a precaution. There was no mention of future races.

Thanks for the update Vindicator. I really want to see him break some new personal bests this summer. If he is healthy, there is no reason he shouldn't crush his p.b. times in both the 100 & 200 meters. Here is to a speedy recovery. It doesn't sound serious and he did the right thing but not risking competing.

Just to let you guys know, Chrisophe will be racing in the 200 on Tuesday. I'm pretty sure that Usain Bolt will also be in the race. As long as Christophe is healthy, he should smash his personal best. I hope he is ok as he hasn't raced in around 3 weeks.

Now it's up to Christophe Lemaitre to answer the call of the next generation of sprinters. Earlier this year, we all thought he was the best young talent with the most potential. I still belive that but he has to step it up. Both Ramil Guliyev(19) who ran a 10.08/20.42 and Robert Herring(19) with a 10.34/20.41 have passed him up. Lemaitre is still a long ways away from these young sprinters. All three of these guys are barely 19 years of age so this three amigos should have a good rivarly going over the next decade.

Christophe lines up against Bolt in 2 days over the deuce. It is time for him to make a statement! Come on Christophe. You can do it. Viva La Lemaitre. Viva La France!

We are on the eve of the biggest race of Christophe's life tommorow. It may not be for a championship, but it will be against the fastest man in the world. He is racing against the 200 meters world record holder U.Bolt! What kind of time will he run?

Will the pressure get to Christophe? I wonder how he will respond. Paul Hession and Marc Schnneeberger are also in the race. Maybe both Lemaitre and Hession can run in the 20.20's - 20.30's range. I would be happy with that. I don't want to expect too much. We will just have to see how it unfolds. Good luck guys. I wish I could be there to watch it live!

Collio is in the 100 but he hasn't been running good. He even pulled up in his last race and looked hurt. It must have been a cramp.Edited by: white lightning

Hession will beat Christophe i think in the 20.2 to 20.4 range. Hession is the 200 equivalent to Craig Pickering in consistency.

I hope Christophe can break 20.50. Bolt is unpredictable considering he has phases of steroids. he ran like in the 20.3's in his Jamaican trials, yet haas ran 19.3 before. I don't care how bad he hurt his foot, that is suspicious. A 1 second difference.

21.01. I know how bad groin injuries are. They last 6-8 months, and can be so fragile theat if you masterbate or have sex then for about two days you can't run without feeling tweaking. I still feel mine from last Christmas. My guess is better luck next year for christophe. Hession did well though, and Christophe has youth.

It looked to me like he was very careful in his sprinting. He didn't go out hard at all. He seemed to almost jog the beginning and the whole curve. It wasn't until he hit the home straigt where he got on it. He actually came from way back to pass one guy before the finish line. This race doesn't show anything in my opinion as he took it easy with the weather. Why risk it?

If it is still his groin however, either way, it was only one race in a long career. He will be back in a big way soon I'm sure.

WL, I was thinking the same thing. coming off a groin problem & sh*t conditions, why risk it. he definitely took it easy.

10'17 today, new French junior record, now he hold the record he is free of that preasure, he will run faster.

He will probably do a sub 10-10 at berlin, maybe before.

http://www.athle.com/asp.net/main.news/news.aspx?newsid=7684

At the European championship, he ended the relay, he was 5 meters behind the last german, he finally finished 2 hundredth behind him. It was amazing but he hurted himself.

When he came back for Lausanne meeting, he was impressed by Bolt, he has had some trouble to concentrate. He is alway not good under rain, he was disturbed also by a guy who abandon in front of him.

He will perfom at Berlin.

And I like how his progress is normal and regular which proves he is training hard and naturally.

Wow. So much young talent.10.08 Ramil Guliyev10.08w Craig Pickering10.15 Fabio Cerutti 10.19 Arnaldo Abrantes10.17 Christophe Lemaitre 10.18 Tobias Unger10.19 Stefan Schwab10.20 Emanuele Di Gregorio...and Collio and Connoughton.and the 200 is just as promising with Guliyev, Kosenkow, and Hering. The 400 is the best with Wariner, Borlee, and Gillick. And the LJ and HJ are stacked. The decathlon is looking great too. Only the TJ looks weak.Edited by: StarWars

I'd like to line up all these 100m guys in a race, (plus Blum if he were healthy.)
Right now Guliyev would have to be the favorite, but everyone'else's best is about the same - 10.18, give or take a hundreth.
It would be a great race! I would really love to see it happen.

It's not because you have the best time than you win. Asafa Powell can write a book on that. There is sprinters who perform in the meeting without preasure and there si some sprinters generally slower in absolute value who can do great things during championships
