There was a bit of a controversy back in the 1976 Winter Olympics when it came out that Frank Gifford and Bob Beattie's breathless call of Franz Klammer's gold medal ski run was actually recorded after the fact, i.e., ABC knew how the race had turned out but presented it as a "live call."
One can only imagine how fine-tuned that "art" has become in the subsequent almost four decades as there are no "checks and balances" on the U.S. corporate media, which act essentially as an arm of the government.
