Kubiak has a son named Clint who plays a caste position, SS at Colorado St, so maybe that plays a factor in Gary being seemingly fair for an NFL coach towards white players. In essence Gary treats white players how he would want coaches to treat his son, in a fair and honest manner.

It looks like the Texans will only start 7 whites. The worst part is only one of defense, Brian Cushing. At least they have Kevin Walter starting and his backup is David Anderson. Even the second and third string centers are black!!!Edited by: whiteathlete33

I think Tim Bulmann and Connor Barwin could see some time this year, as well as Shaun Cody.

Is Cody white? He looks mixed to me. Yes Barwin will see some time for sure as he is currently listed as second string.

I'm not sure, I remember having a discussion about his race awhile ago.

Hopefully, Barwin and Bulmann will impress, as well as Cushing.

Update from training camp:

Brian Cushing and Connor Barwin look good. Antoine Caldwell appears solid, and a teammate told me he is learning fast and has "starter's ability."

James Casey has been better than good. For all of you who were asking if he would even make the team, please. The guy is a player.

Backups, or at least the Texans' backups can't control him. He knows how to find holes in a defense. If his camp play can translate to games, he could be a red zone weapon that will make a difference. (Expect the Texans to be far better n the red zone this season whether Casey plays a role or not.)

John Bushing made the Texans roster? That's their first white DB since ex-Patriot safety, Matt Stevens. Much like the Ravens, they now have white athletes at DL, LB, and S.

now if only Texans claimed Danny W we would have one hell of a team to cheer for (in current caste climate, at least)

The Texans lose a sumo to IR and his replacement is white. Gives Houston 7 white starters on offense. On defense they have Cushing as the only starter, but it's only a matter of time before Connor Barwin becomes a starting end. Busing, Bulman and 17th year (!!!) tackle Jeff Zgonina all see the field as well.

Texans placed LG Chester Pitts (microfracture, MCL surgery) on injured reserve, ending his season.

<DIV =s_pNewsTextMain>The loss stings, but Houston has a promising young backup in Kasey Studdard and should be able to withstand the loss. Pitts' surgery was highly extensive and won't help his 2010 market value. He's slated for free agency.

John Busing is starting at strong safety tomorrow in place of Dominique Barber. Looks like it was a promotion and not because Barber is injured.

In fact, the Texans will have threemore white starters tomorrow than in the first two games with the expected return of Kevin Walter. Gives them 9 white starters, and hopefully Connor Barwin will be starting at some point this season:

Left guard <STRONG ="Text-TextRagRight HoustonText BoldSans">Kasey Studdard[/b] replaces <STRONG ="Text-TextRagRight HoustonText BoldSans">Chester Pitts[/b], who was placed on injured reserve, against Jacksonville. It's the first start of Studdard's career.

<STRONG ="Text-TextRagRight HoustonText BoldSans">Kevin Walter [/b]replaces <STRONG ="Text-TextRagRight HoustonText BoldSans">Jacoby Jones[/b], who had two catches, including a touchdown, against Tennessee.
<STRONG ="Text-TextRagRight HoustonText BoldSans">John Busing[/b] is expected to start at strong safety in place of <STRONG ="Text-TextRagRight HoustonText BoldSans">Dominique Barber[/b]. Coach <STRONG ="Text-TextRagRight HoustonText BoldSans">Gary Kubiak[/b] said both safeties will play extensively along with free safety <STRONG ="Text-TextRagRight HoustonText BoldSans">Eugene Wilson[/b], who intercepted a pass that set up a touchdown at Tennessee.

I remember watching Bushing while at Miami Ohio. He's spent about 3 seasons on the Bengals serving as a lowly WSTD. It's nice to see him finally starting, especially after his nice interception against the Jets.

He's the standard white "nobody" DB that the NFL loves to sign, cut, waive, release, repeat. I could see him evolving into a less athletic Jim Leonhard.

i really liked Jesse, was hoping for him to make the roster and work his way in the rotation. Still, i guess we can't ask for too much since Texans already have Barwin, Bulman and the ageless Zgonina (what a player) on their d-line.

i am glad Nading's back!

Texans lose starting S Gibril Wilson for the rest of the year. John Busing will be starting.

To fill Wilson's roster spot, the Texans signed Brian Russell to take Wilson's roster spot

HOUSTON (AP) - Houston Texans safety Eugene Wilson will have season-ending surgery to repair a pair of broken toes on his left foot.

Wilson has started eight games for the Texans this season and has 29 tackles, a forced fumble and two interceptions. He will be replaced in the lineup by John Busing.
The Texans signed veteran safety Brian Russell, recently released by the Jaguars, to fill Wilson's spot on the roster.

In other injury news, linebacker DeMeco Ryans (ankle) and running back Steve Slaton (shoulder) both missed practice Wednesday with minor injuries. Coach Gary Kubiak said they are listed as day to day for Sunday's game against the Colts.

Glad to see Russell has once again found a roster spot to hopefully finish out the year. The Seahawks released him in a pretty shocking move, thinking the "affletes" Deon Grant and Jordan Babenoux were ready to take over. Instead, the safety position has been one of the big problem areas on defense in what has been a dismal year for Seattle.

It serves caste-clown Mora right.

The Texans have Cody, Zgonina, Bulman and Barwin all playing on the line, Cushing at OLB, and Busing at safety. Cushing and Busing are the only White starters, but allsix play a significant amount of snaps and maybe they will be joined by Russell. And Barwin should bestarting by next season. Does any other team play sixor seven different White players on defense? Considering they have 6-7 White starters on offense depending on the formation, the Texans may now be considered the league's Whitest team, relatively speaking of course, overtaking the Packers.Edited by: Don Wassall

yeah, and what worries me is their record, we all know what is the first thing to usually change when the white friendly team gets taken over by a new coach... roster gets purged! players like Busing, Anderson, Bulman would definitely be gone... Walter might get demoted after having a so-so season so far. let's hope Texans stick with Kubiak.

The Texans are a longshot to make the playoffs now, but hopefully they'll finish strong. Would be nice to see Kubiak get another season, but Don Banks of SI doesn't think so. The rest of the media will undoubtedly be in agreement:

You have to wonder what more Texans owner Bob McNair needs to see? Gary Kubiak's team can't finish, and because of it, he should be finished after this, his fourth season in Houston. Despite being a trendy pick to make the playoffs, the Texans will only wind up reinforcing the trend they've followed all eight years of their existence and miss the postseason. Houston is now a mind-boggling 1-15 against the Colts, who are still the class of its division.

McNair gave Dom Capers the boot as his head coach after four playoff-less seasons, and Kubiak now deserves the exact same treatment. Despite having some of the most gifted players in the league at several positions, the Texans lack heart, killer instinct and the know-how to win. If that's not a reflection on a head coach's leadership, what pray tell is?

As December dawns, the Texans are again toast. They should be in the market for a new face of the franchise in the coming weeks, and it's obvious they're in desperate need of a heart transplant, as well. Four years is an eminently fair shot in today's NFL. Kubiak got his chance to make the Texans a winner, and he failed. Better than most, he knows he and his football team have wound up on the wrong side of the bottom line.

There are four ways in which the Texans could make the playoffs"¦.

Scenario #1: Texans win, everyone else loses (Houston would be at 9-7, everyone else at 8-8, which would mean they get in).

Scenario #2: Texans win, Denver loses to Kansas City, New York loses to Cincinnati, Baltimore beats Oakland, Pittsburgh beats Miami (Texans, Ravens, Steelers finish at 9-7--Ravens get in, Texans top Steelers in tie-breaker).

Scenario #3: Texans win, New York loses to Cincinnati, Baltimore loses to Oakland, Denver beats Kansas City, Pittsburgh beats Miami (Texans, Broncos and Steelers finish at 9-7--Steelers get in with tie-breaker against Broncos, Texans top Steelers in tie-breaker).

Scenario #4: Texans win, Denver loses to Kansas City, Baltimore loses to Oakland, New York beats Cincinnati, Pittsburgh beats Miami (Texans, Jets, Steelers finish at 9-7--Jets get in, Texans top Steelers in tie-breaker).

All scenarios are unlikely, but certainly not unattainable in a league chock full of know-nothing coaches and idiotic, inconsistent, mistake-prone afroletes.

From a caste perspective, the AFC teams I would prefer to win the two wildcard spots would be Houston and Miami (only because of Hartline, Fasano, and Camarillo). I also wouldn't mind the Ravens as much. The Steelers, Jets, and Broncos are all slightly more castean.

Also, if the Texans were to make their first playoff appearance, they would certainly play NE for the second week in a row. Therefore, one of the two whitest teams in the AFC playoffs will be eliminated.

Obviously, I think we will all be rooting for the Packers in the NFC playoffs. Failing that, the Vikings, Saints, and Cowboys all feature around the same amount of whites as one another.

Worst possible caste superbowl match up...Eagles VS. Bengals.

Best possible caste superbowl match up"¦..Packers VS. Patriots / Texans / Colts.Edited by: Thrashen

Vikings vs. Patriots/Texans/Colts would be pretty good from a Caste perspective as well.

It looks pretty bleak for the Texans given the above scenarios outlined by Thrashen, but at least they've rallied after their losing streak and have a chance to finish above .500 for the first time. It would be nice if Kubiak is given at least another season to get them to 10 or more wins.

I'm disappointed that James Casey hasn't been worked into the offense effectively, and also it appears that Jacoby Jones is being groomed (again) to take over Kevin Walter's spot. Also, I believe Owen Daniels is a free agent after the season and they are unlikely to go with Joel Dreessen if Daniels leaves. Casey is the logical choice to replace Daniels but one never knows with the NFL. The Texans also obviously need a reliable running back and would be a good landing spot for Toby Gerhart.

Good news:

Texans Give Kubiak Extension

ESPN - The Texans have awarded coach Gary Kubiak a contract extension that runs through the 2012 season, according to a pair of reports.

The new deal voids the final year of his contract and is for the next three seasons, according to the Houston Chronicle.

"I'm real excited about it," Kubiak said to the Chronicle. "[Owner] Bob [McNair] has always been very good to me. I respect him a great deal. I'm glad he's got the confidence in me to finish what we started when we came here. We've got a great opportunity to have something real special."

Kubiak led the Texans to their first-ever winning season this season.
