Kubiak has a son named Clint who plays a caste position, SS at Colorado St, so maybe that plays a factor in Gary being seemingly fair for an NFL coach towards white players. In essence Gary treats white players how he would want coaches to treat his son, in a fair and honest manner.

It looks like the Texans will only start 7 whites. The worst part is only one of defense, Brian Cushing. At least they have Kevin Walter starting and his backup is David Anderson. Even the second and third string centers are black!!!Edited by: whiteathlete33

John Bushing made the Texans roster? That's their first white DB since ex-Patriot safety, Matt Stevens. Much like the Ravens, they now have white athletes at DL, LB, and S.
The Texans lose a sumo to IR and his replacement is white. Gives Houston 7 white starters on offense. On defense they have Cushing as the only starter, but it's only a matter of time before Connor Barwin becomes a starting end. Busing, Bulman and 17th year (!!!) tackle Jeff Zgonina all see the field as well.

I remember watching Bushing while at Miami Ohio. He's spent about 3 seasons on the Bengals serving as a lowly WSTD. It's nice to see him finally starting, especially after his nice interception against the Jets.
He's the standard white "nobody" DB that the NFL loves to sign, cut, waive, release, repeat. I could see him evolving into a less athletic Jim Leonhard.

Texans resign Jesse Nading, adding yet another white man to their defense.
i really liked Jesse, was hoping for him to make the roster and work his way in the rotation. Still, i guess we can't ask for too much since Texans already have Barwin, Bulman and the ageless Zgonina (what a player) on their d-line.

Glad to see Russell has once again found a roster spot to hopefully finish out the year. The Seahawks released him in a pretty shocking move, thinking the "affletes" Deon Grant and Jordan Babenoux were ready to take over. Instead, the safety position has been one of the big problem areas on defense in what has been a dismal year for Seattle.

The Texans have Cody, Zgonina, Bulman and Barwin all playing on the line, Cushing at OLB, and Busing at safety. Cushing and Busing are the only White starters, but allsix play a significant amount of snaps and maybe they will be joined by Russell. And Barwin should bestarting by next season. Does any other team play sixor seven different White players on defense? Considering they have 6-7 White starters on offense depending on the formation, the Texans may now be considered the league's Whitest team, relatively speaking of course, overtaking the Packers.Edited by: Don Wassall
yeah, and what worries me is their record, we all know what is the first thing to usually change when the white friendly team gets taken over by a new coach... roster gets purged! players like Busing, Anderson, Bulman would definitely be gone... Walter might get demoted after having a so-so season so far. let's hope Texans stick with Kubiak.
The Texans are a longshot to make the playoffs now, but hopefully they'll finish strong. Would be nice to see Kubiak get another season, but Don Banks of SI doesn't think so. The rest of the media will undoubtedly be in agreement:

There are four ways in which the Texans could make the playoffs"¦.
Scenario #1: Texans win, everyone else loses (Houston would be at 9-7, everyone else at 8-8, which would mean they get in).
Scenario #2: Texans win, Denver loses to Kansas City, New York loses to Cincinnati, Baltimore beats Oakland, Pittsburgh beats Miami (Texans, Ravens, Steelers finish at 9-7--Ravens get in, Texans top Steelers in tie-breaker).
Scenario #3: Texans win, New York loses to Cincinnati, Baltimore loses to Oakland, Denver beats Kansas City, Pittsburgh beats Miami (Texans, Broncos and Steelers finish at 9-7--Steelers get in with tie-breaker against Broncos, Texans top Steelers in tie-breaker).

Also, if the Texans were to make their first playoff appearance, they would certainly play NE for the second week in a row. Therefore, one of the two whitest teams in the AFC playoffs will be eliminated.
Obviously, I think we will all be rooting for the Packers in the NFC playoffs. Failing that, the Vikings, Saints, and Cowboys all feature around the same amount of whites as one another.
Worst possible caste superbowl match up...Eagles VS. Bengals.

It looks pretty bleak for the Texans given the above scenarios outlined by Thrashen, but at least they've rallied after their losing streak and have a chance to finish above .500 for the first time. It would be nice if Kubiak is given at least another season to get them to 10 or more wins.
I'm disappointed that James Casey hasn't been worked into the offense effectively, and also it appears that Jacoby Jones is being groomed (again) to take over Kevin Walter's spot. Also, I believe Owen Daniels is a free agent after the season and they are unlikely to go with Joel Dreessen if Daniels leaves. Casey is the logical choice to replace Daniels but one never knows with the NFL. The Texans also obviously need a reliable running back and would be a good landing spot for Toby Gerhart.

ESPN - The Texans have awarded coach Gary Kubiak a contract extension that runs through the 2012 season, according to a pair of reports.
The new deal voids the final year of his contract and is for the next three seasons, according to the Houston Chronicle.
"I'm real excited about it," Kubiak said to the Chronicle. "[Owner] Bob [McNair] has always been very good to me. I respect him a great deal. I'm glad he's got the confidence in me to finish what we started when we came here. We've got a great opportunity to have something real special."
Kubiak led the Texans to their first-ever winning season this season.
