Gerhart needs to end up with the Texans.

Maybe it will happen. From Rotoworld: Texans owner Bob McNair confirmed that running back is a priority this offseason. Steve Slaton is a terrific passing-down back, and Arian Foster flashed in late-season action. Slaton (neck surgery) has health concerns, however, and Foster lacks experience and difference-making ability. Expect the team to add stability to the backfield early in the draft.

We just have to hope he does get picked up by a team like the Texans. I can only imagine what would happen if a team like the Jaguars picked him up. He would basically be in same situation Hillis is in. Gerhart is similar to Ron Dayne in size. Dayne was very slow(4.6 40 if I remember correctly) but still had quite a few chances to impress.

I don't see the similarity.

Ron Dayne: 5' 10" 250 to 260 pounds during his NFL career, 4.67 40 time at the Combine

The similarity is only in the fact that they are both big backs though Dayne was about 20 lbs heavier. Both won the Doak Walker Award though Dayne won the Heisman as well. The slower Dayne had plenty of opportunities yet was a bust in the NFL. If Gerhart gets half that chance he will show he is a good back.

Chris Wells is the same height and weight as Gerhart. Gerharts's running style is also somewhat similar to Wells' though Gerhart runs harder and tougher. Wells ran a 4.59 at the Combine, would be nice to see Toby do that well.

I predict a 40 somewhere from 4.46-4.55. My exact guess would be 4.51. Gerhart is another EXTREMELY talented white tailback. I think Gerhart and Hillis (in the right system suited to their style) could be perennial Pro Bowlers and carry the ball 300+ times a season producing close to 5 YPC (In Denver Hillis and Gerhart would have been high 5.x YPC guys, without McEminem there I fear...too bad).

Danny Woodhead could also make the Pro Bowl IMO as a Leon Washington all purpose back- if he evenly split carries with Shonn Greene in the future. He doesn't have quite as much return skills as Leon, but slightly better running skills. You have to be damn good most of the time to get into the league as a white RB, b/c they just aren't wanted.

Jacob Hester could be an above average tailback who sees the field IMO- best used splitting carries with a scat back pretty evenly.

Brian Leonard is more of a third down/ receiving back who should get maybe 5-10 carries a game. He's a good athlete, but lacks the instincts and vision you'd like to see from a featured runner. Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Brian Leonard is definitely the bengals best receiving option out of the backfield. It seemed like every game there was 3rd and 10 situation where brian would make an amazing effort, get the first down, and essentially keep the bengals in the game.

Exactly, I think he proved his worth more as a receiver than as a runner. The good thing is that he's found his nitch in the league and I think he could be at least a solid runner that gets playing time.
