I think it would be a surprise if Tim TebowIS allowed to be what he obviously could be. Clearly he will be a Hall OF Famer if given half the chance Mike Vick has been given. The question is, will he be given half that chance. I would bet everything on no, he will not be given that chance. Hes too damaging to the established system. I mean seriously, why were there ever questions about him playing QB to begin with? Its crazy!

On a bad Broncos team that was losing WITH Orton starting Tebow was able to bring life into the team and even though he started only 3 games, Tebow managed to will the Broncos to a victory in the largest comeback in that franchises history. Tebow showed tremendous play making ability, had a great QB rating especially for a rookie and that he has the skills and will to become a star/elite QB if he's allowed to. The only knock on Tebow was that he "only" completed 50% of his passes in his 3 games starting. Yet Vick completed around 50% of his passes almost every year and he wasn't knocked for it for some odd reason...

The powers that be will do everything to minimize this fine quarterback,after all,the sainthood of Cam Newton is being constructed,the good news?,Newton will be what he is as the whole country watches,the bad news?, 90% of fans are DWF's,and will buy into whatever the media says.

Multiple sources tell SI.com's Tony Pauline that the Broncos will likely draft a quarterback in the first couple of rounds of this year's draft.
According to the same sources, Tim Tebow is "not the quarterback for John Elway," making the position a priority heading into the draft. Enough anti-Tebow buzz is coming out of Denver that Elway either truly lacks faith in Josh McDaniels' hand-picked QB, or else he wants the teams picking behind him to believe it. Pauline suggests Nevada's Colin Kaepernick at the top of round two as the most likely Elway selection.

Pure jealousy on the part of Elway the egomaniac. Yes, Elway, Fox and other Denver brass went to watch Kaepernick during his pro-Day and were impressed. It wouldn't surprise me if they picked him. Never mind that their defense was ranked 32nd in the NFL, let's have four quarterbacks instead. That will solve everything. The NFL is a Corporate Cultural Marxist extremist league and Tebow, being the heterosexual, Christian, White, Male, that he is, doesn't fit the typecast(e) of the players that fit the "diversity" requirements of the front office.

And, if Kaepernick tries to do his little "scampering" in the NFL, his body will get destroyed by the big hits..

Is this all wishful thinking by Tebow haters? because after hearing about all of this, I have been looking it up. John Elway hasn't said one damn thing about getting rid of Tebow or drafting a quarterback from what I can find, just people saying that he is interested in another quarterback. Kaepernick is a poor man's Tebow, it would make more sense to get him for another position. I have noticed one thing about Tebow, he just makes plays. He will make some awkward looking passes like jumping up to get it over a defender who is in his face, off balance throws out of necessity and still have it completed downfield.

I think Denver fans would be pissed, I would hope they would stop going to games. I have met some and they are pretty racially aware for the average fan. They are still pissed off about the whole Hillis thing. Replacing Tebow with someone like Kaepernick, they would realize what the real issue is. Not only does Colin not have experience behind center, he doesn't even have experience in normal shotgun formation, the pistol has the qb line up several yards closer so the back can line up behind him to have a more downhill attack. I don't know how a pistol qb would transition.

If Tebow is not the QB for Elway, then Kaepernick is even less so. Don't buy into it. The media may not want him in there but I think Elway may just see a little of himself in Tebow. Tebow will throw for 2500+ and run for 1000 next year. 30 combined TD's.

I'm also willing to give Elway the benefit of the doubt for now. He's never impressed me as a strong pro-Caste type. The media may be engaging in psychological projection, or even outright deception, more than they are describing Elway's actualopinions on Tebow.

Ninety percent of the stuff that appears on sites like Weenieworld at this point in the offseason is pure conjecture, with most of it having abuilt-in anti-White bias. The tearing down of White quarterbacks is a year-round media preoccupation and Tebow will always be a target given his character and beliefs. Let's give Elway time before passing judgment on him.Edited by: Don Wassall

Yes, he would and that's precisely the reason why they are doing everything in their power to make sure that won't happen. The NFL supports and promotes dog-killer thugs, not Christian (White) men of character whose religious moral philosophy counters much of what's prescribed in their diversity policy. I hope I'm wrong, but in today's world, up is down, black is white, and evil is good. The way the NFL has been run the past 25-30 years parallels what's happened in our overall culture, so it doesn't give me much faith or hope that the correct (politically incorrect) decision will be made.

Elway's public comments have hardly shown any confidence in Tebow. If any black QB had performed the way Tebow did in those three starts at the end of last season, he'd be hailed as a revolutionary QB who was "changing the game."

If Cam Newton has a long TD run similar to the one Tebow had late last season, you can bet it will get just a tad bit more attention than Tebow's did. I don't think it's an overstatement to say that Tebow was incredibly impressive as a rookie. Still, we have jock sniffers in the media deriding him, questioning his abilities and calling him a bust.

Because
the Broncos are obviously on the prowl for quarterback help in an
up-for-grabs draft for that position
, one name has been consistently
absent from much of the public discussion, a player who has consistently
grown on me as more and more video dances across the screen.


And there are always guys who will do better than expected as
professionals because they are tough-minded, because they deal with
scrutiny, criticism and the pressure of things by simply taking away
what helps them and leaving the rest to float off into the mist.


Christian Ponder may be that kind of player.


Ponder was a three-year starter at quarterback for Florida State and,
like Washington's Jake Locker, entered his final collegiate season
ranked higher by many scouts and draft analysts than when he exited it.


He finished 2010 with 2,044 yards passing, 20 touchdowns and eight
interceptions. Ponder, who rushed for 423 yards as a sophomore, added
180 yards and four touchdowns rushing last season.


Still, looking at the video, I see a limited offense with receivers who were essentially slot guys playing on the outside.


Ponder is solidly built, at 6-2, 222 pounds. He threw two touchdown
passes in the Senior Bowl and earned a finance degree in 2-1/2 years.


There is some concern about his arm/shoulder injuries. He played much
of this past season with a bad right elbow, having it drained during
the season as well as having two surgeries as the year drew to a close.


He also suffered a right shoulder injury in 2009, separating it while
making a tackle, and missed five games after having surgery to repair
it.


Ponder is intriguing in this quarterback class because he is almost a
stealth passer at this point, a big-school guy hiding in all of the
discussion about Cam Newton, Blaine Gabbert and even Locker at this
point.


But in talking to several quarterback coaches, Ponder has been a guy many teams have been impressed with as far as how he handled being put on the board, breaking down
certain defensive looks and what he would do with the ball in those
specific situations.


It's clear the Broncos are looking to add an athlete at the position,
but an athlete with the discipline to play in the pocket until the last
moment and then use that athleticism when things go bad, to escape, to
extend the play
. They are looking to add a pocket passer who is a threat
to run when all of the options have been considered, not before.



Perhaps the Broncos believe Kyle Orton is not that threat to run when
the need arises and that Tim Tebow is too quick to run before the need
arises.
There's a long list of running quarterbacks who didn't win
consistently until they displayed the discipline to master the nuances
of the pocket. What the Broncos have said is they like all three of
their quarterbacks on their roster, that they can win with the group.


What their actions say, however, is they are looking for what John
Elway has called "that franchise guy," and head coach John Fox has gone
as far as to say the other three would have to understand if the team
brought in another guy in the search.



It's a tough class of quarterbacks to break down in that regard,
because each has some significant questions trailing in his wake.


Yet Ponder deserves to be in the discussion as well. He's smart and
tough and has thrown the ball well since the end of the regular season â€"
the Senior Bowl, his pro day and workouts â€" to push his name up the

The Broncos have Orton, Tebow and Quinn on their roster. With a solid veteran (Orton) and 2 1st round draft picks (Tebow, Quinn) who have the abilities to be stars why would the Broncos need another project at QB? I think they have many more pressing needs than at QB. Tebow will be an elite QB if he's given a legit chance and I still believe Quinn has all the potential to be one too if he's also ever given a chance.

After staying tight-lipped on Tim Tebow's future all offseason, John Elway now says he's "his biggest fan."

"Elway believes the Broncos are "in pretty darn good shape" if Tebow can become the player the organization hopes he can be. But, Elway told Tebow, "You have to realize for us to be champions, you have to be able to win it from the pocket and make all those throws from the pocket." Elway also hinted that Tebow would open the season as the starter over Kyle Orton as long as the lockout doesn't preclude training camp and a full preseason. Now that Elway is locked in on a defensive player at No. 2, he's through with the QB smokescreens."


I wonder if he realized how much of a mistake he made with bashing Tebow. The fans were outraged, wouldn't be a smart first move by him. He was a great quarterback, but usually those guys aren't the best at evaluating talent.

I have a feeling Tebow isn't going to disappoint. I have a feeling that Tebow played better in those 3 games than Newton will in his entire career.

Tebow was better than Newton in high school, college and I'm positive he will be far superior to Newton in the NFL. Tebow will become what TPTB wanted Vick, Russell, Young and now Cam to be. An athletic QB who can run like a RB and pass like a great QB should. I think Tebow will be similar to Steve Young in time while Cam will be the next Vince Young at best.

I saw that yesterday, Backrow. He's just a dumb columnist, his opinion doesn't matter in the real world. Besides, unless the Broncos pull off some major trades and move up in the draft, no way they get Luck.

The fans in Colorado love Tebow and want him to start, at least most do. The person that wrote that was the same person that bashed Hillis when he was benched for Moreno and still stuck up for McDaniels when Hillis was doing well in Cleveland, had an article about how it wasn't the worst trade in their history, went back a few decades to prove a point.

Tim Tebow and the Myth That He Is Not an Accurate Passer

I read it in blogs. I see it in posts on Bleacher Report. And, John Clayton says it a lot on ESPN.


It's just everywhere. It has even gotten to the point that Tebow's biggest fans accept it as truth, and then try to find ways around it, as in, "Well, Tebow will just find a different way to win games."Â￾


But accuracy is important in the NFL, and thankfully, Tim Tebow is an accurate passer.


First, a definition on the word in question courtesy of Merriam Webster Online:


Truism: "An undoubted or self-evident truth"Â￾ or a truth "too obvious to mention."Â￾


Merriam Webster forgot to add that, ironically, truisms are not always true.


Breaking up is not always hard to do. Just wait until your boyfriend or girlfriend tells you that he or she doesn't like football, believes that there are many more "productive"Â￾ things than watching (or reading about) football, and then demands that you find a new hobby.


That's easily settled, no?


Or, how about this one: The customer is always right.


My vote is that the customer is always right, 27 percent of the time, at best.

And now there is talk that Tim Tebow is not an accurate passer.


Well lets check for accuracy.


This truism about Tebow likely started around the time that NFL draft prognosticators were discussing Tebow's future; since then, concerns about his mechanics, accuracy and ability to play in a pro-style offense have dogged him.


You would think that he had an awful college career.


Kerry Byrne of SI.com compared Tebow's college numbers to a list of quarterbacks that were drafted with the No. 1 pick in their respective drafts: Peyton Manning, Tim Couch, Eli Manning, JaMarcus Russell, and Matt Stafford.


His conclusion? "Tebow was, by any measure, a better player, a better quarterback and, yes, a better passer than any of these No. 1 picks."Â￾


After all, Tebow's completion percentage (67.11), yards per average (9.43), interceptions (only 15), and passer rating (120.72) make him a far more dominant college QB than any of those other passers.


Comparatively, Peyton Manning's passer rating was 100.93. He threw over twice as many interceptions in college than Tebow did.


As Byrne notes: "But Tebow didn't just put up big stats ... he put up supremely efficient stats. He was more accurate, and produced more big passing plays, and was more likely to put the ball in the end zone, and more likely to keep it out of the hands of opposing defenders, than any of the recent collection of No. 1 passing phenoms to come out of the SEC."Â￾

Tebow's passing numbers indicate that he was an incredibly effective, efficient and accurate passer, and they completely leave out the fact that Tebow was also an amazing rushing quarterback.


So then the argument must be that Tebow was not an accurate quarterback in his three games as a starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos? Right?


Yes, Tebow's completion rate was just 50% in 2010, and this seems to make matters moot for those who wish to validate their prophesies and close the book on Tebow as a pro quarterback.


Mel Kiper wouldn't want to wait until Tebow succeeds as an NFL quarterback before he comes back to his original assertion that Tebow should be an H-back or tight end, would he?


I mean, John Elway is one of the top quarterbacks in NFL history, never had his accuracy seriously questioned, and finished his rookie year (1983) with a 47.5 completion rate. And that was after starting 11 games.


Tebow started just three games last season, so his completion percentage is less meaningful. We don't expect rookies to play like veterans, do we?


His first start was against Oakland, with head coach Josh McDaniels jettisoned from Denver, and the running backs coach taking over as interim head coach. Tebow completed 8 out of 16 passes for 138 yards. He threw a touchdown, no interceptions, and ran for 78 yards and another touchdown.


I know, I know, we are only looking at passing numbers here, but the thing is that Tebow was the only one running the ball that game. Lance Ball threw in 20 yards, but that hardly counts as run support for a rookie quarterback making his debut start against the Raiders.

His second start was against Houston. He threw for 308 yards, had a completion percentage of 55.2, and averaged 10.62 yards per pass.


The last game of the season was against San Diego, and we should remember that this was the game that had Tebow throwing Hail Mary passes in the end to try and complete a remarkable come-from-behind win against the Chargers.


His completion percentage fell to 44.4, and this was by far his worst statistical outing, but how many of us remember thinking that Tebow was awful in the final game of the season?


I don't remember that at all.


Instead, I remember a very exciting performance, a very loud and jacked-up Invesco Field, which had started to erase a lot of curiosity--even doubt--that many Broncos fans (myself included) had with Tim Tebow at the time.


Remember that we were told to expect failure from Tim Tebow. Tebow was given zero chance, despite his gaudy numbers in college. We were told that he couldn't make the type of pass that NFL quarterbacks need to make.


Then Tebow started to inject life into this team. He showed us the ability to rally, the ability to improvise and throw on the run. He started to make passes that he wasn't supposed to make.


No doubt, he had some poor passes. He threw three interceptions in three games. Some passes were not thrown accurately enough. At other times it was poor timing.

But since when is that a novelty for rookie quarterbacks playing in the very first few games of their NFL career?


It's not.


People can keep arguing that Tebow isn't an accurate passer and will fail in the NFL because of it. After all, that's what a lot of experts and ESPN personalities are telling them. They repeat this myth and suddenly it becomes a truism.


But here's another truism, and this one happens to be true...


A lot of professionals are crackpots.


Maybe we shouldn't always listen?

Good article. I recall watching a pre-season game between Denver and Pitt.

Tebow threw an incomplete pass and Troy Aikman chastised him saying that is something Tebow NEEDS to work on. The opposing QB of that game was Byron Leftwich who has a career 58.3 completion pct. Of course, dumbass Troy never brought up Byron's paltry accuracy.

There's good news for the quarterback-starved teams of the league Tuesday morning: The Denver Broncos may be looking to rid themselves of Kyle Orton.
That's the word from Mike Klis of The Denver Post. Tuesday is the first day teams can actually complete trades, and if the Broncos can move Orton quickly, it would be Tim Tebow's(notes) team heading into training camp. Tebow's only competition would come from Brady Quinn(notes), and I don't know if that's a good thing for the Broncos in terms of wins and losses, but they would probably lead the league in quarterback handsomeness.
This is a definite show of the Broncos' faith in Tim Tebow, despite the fact that he has only three NFL starts under his belt. There was a lot to like in those three starts, though. He threw five touchdown passes against three interceptions, which is nice, but completed just 41 of 82 passes, which is not so nice. Helping to offset that, though, were the plays Tebow made with his legs. He ran for 199 yards in those three games, scoring a rushing touchdown in each of them.
If Orton's gone, it's Tebow's show. Head coach John Fox has said that Brady Quinn will get a shot to compete for the job, too, but let's not kid ourselves. He's still Brady Quinn, and Tebow is the show pony.
As for Orton, he'd become a pretty attractive option for teams out there like the Titans, Cardinals, Bengals and Dolphins. Over the last two years, Orton has thrown 41 touchdown passes against 21 interceptions, with a quarterback rating above 85 in both seasons.
Perhaps those aren't All-Pro numbers, but if you're looking at starting Andy Dalton(notes) or giving up a second-round draft pick for the very much unproven Kevin Kolb(notes), Orton's availability may look like a magnificent gift from the football gods. If he is on the block, I'd suspect the Broncos would have no shortage of interested trade partners. Gracias, Pro Football Talk.

Looks like the cards are being stacked against Tebow from within. As we heard earlier this year it seems he does not have support from the front office or new coaching staff.

On the other hand the guy who could not replace him at Florida seems to have the path of least resistance in carolina to win the starting job.

This is such BS.

I really think Tebow could do EVEN MORE great things off the NFL field if he gets a chance to be a star on it. Tebow is such a class act with love and charity in his heart. I love his favourite Bible quote from Philippians:

"whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things... and the God of peace will be with you."

The fact that Tebow is such a class act in such an unclassy "Loony Rooney" league is why the PTB want to keep him from being successful.

Funny thing is the Panthers are going to put plays in the offense for Newton to take off and run yet Denver seems content not to do anything like that to adapt to Tim Tebow's unique talents.
