San Francisco 49ers General Thread

I read it may be up to six weeks Samuel is out. Tough break for the 49ers.

Offense is looking rudderless without McCaffrey.

Next the 49ers are at the Rams.
It could have been a good caste match-up...
But no CMC, no Cooper Kupp, no Puka, no Pearsall .... and to make the game even less exciting, no Deebo.
Maybe Schrader gets to play.

I’m hoping Schroeder gets some rushes. Williams, though a good back, has been struggling so far.

I just lament CMC being hurt. With what Mason has done the first two weeks imagine how productive McCaffrey would have been!

Silver lining is Purdy is going to get some experience without having all the weapons around him. This will payoff for his development.

George Kittle "has hamstring issue" and might miss this week's game against the Rams.

The 49ers are experiencing a wave of injuries so far. I think last year was their best chance for a SuperBowl. Their defense will again crumble and their offense is rather dull without CMC.

I hope I am wrong.

Injuries are certainly a part of the game. Maybe Juzcyk gets more involved. I still think this adversity is important for Purdy’s development. Pearsall will be eligible in a few weeks too.

Kittle is doubtful, which means it's highly unlikely he plays. He was in an ideal spot to have a huge game too, with Deebo Samuel, Pearsall and C-Mac all out.

Kittle is definitly out for the game, as are many of their stars.
But the Rams are even in worse shape, injury wise.

What I wrote above is correct, Kittle is officially listed as doubtful, which means he'll likely miss the game but if his hammy improves between now and pre-game warm-ups there's a small chance he can still play. Nick Bosa is listed as questionable.

Juszyck getting released. 49ers window may very well be closed. Have a feeling they lose McCaffrey after this year.

49ers took Juice for granted. At very least a poor man’s Rathman/Alstott. But every offense is the same and a spread now so not like anyone else will utilize his unique talents. What a waste of what could have been.

Only seen as a “special teams ace” but we know how good he was as a fill in starter last year. Will the 49ers give him that chance? Don’t hold your breath.

Mac Jones signs a 2 year deal to backup Brock Purdy. Learning and developing under Shanahan is probably the best spot he could possibly land.

There were rumors the Shanahan wanted to draft Mac Jones but went with Trey Lance due to pressure from the front office and others. This signing might support that idea. For better or worse it also gives the 9ers leverage against Purdy, because I'm not sure how big the gap between he and Mac Jones actually is.

I remember those rumors well. I think Shanahan was overruled by the front office that bought into the Lance hype. Amazing how Lance has pretty much disappeared and avoided any real conversation as an all time bust.

As for Jones it is a good landing spot. I do think Purdy is the better talent but Jones in the right system can also be developed like Darnold. The lack of qb development in the NFL is retarded.

Lot of reports that McCaffrey could go to Denver which would be good landing spot. San Fran seems to have their Super Bowl window closing fast.

One of a few articles I have seen:

Juice resigned with the 49ers. Maybe Shanahan will learn to use him.

It’s the kind of racist drivel in pieces like the below that infuriate me and influence DWFs.

The retarded writer is wrong on all three facets of Juice’s game: he is a great receiving outlet, a good runner who doesn’t get the opportunity his talent warrants and consistently does a great job blocking for CMC or whomever else is back there.
