The 49ers at one point had a white French DB from some euro league in camp as of late may, his name is Maceo Beard. Anyone heard any news about him?

He was a corner, I think was listed as a safety for the 49ers. Not on the roster page
 
The Jones's, Mac and Daniel, hopefully can be rescued from the Caste dungheap ala Ryan Tannehill, Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield and others. From Weenieworld:

49ers OC Klay Kubiak said backup QB Mac Jones is “capable of being a starter in this league.” ESPN’s Nick Wagoner detailed Jones’ three-week offseason onboarding process, which transpired after the 26-year-old quarterback signed a two-year, $7 million contract in March. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, Kubiak and QB coach Mick Lombardi spent the duration breaking down cutups of Jones’ previous film and showing Jones a need to focus on things like the footwork needed to succeed in the offense. Learning and executing the basics of Shanahan’s famed offense is key. Per Wagoner, watching Darnold rewire himself appealed to Jones, who also wants to “rebuild from the ground up, starting with his confidence.” Jones won’t challenged Brock Purdy for a starting job, but he could make good on Kubiak’s starter comments elsewhere come 2027.

Here’s hoping he establishes a connection with Purdy. Isabella is extremely talented. Shanahan is definitely willing to buck the caste system on offense.
 
Damn, can you imagine a breakout season aged 28? I do hope so. He clearly shows enough during training that allows him to stick in the league, even if it's on the outskirts.
 
Just heard that Purdy is likely out for a few games with a toe injury.
49ers had bad luck with injuries last year, and it seems that it is carrying over to this season.

I’m optimistic. Often a change of scenery will do wonders (Darnold as a latest example).

He will have CMC, Juice, Pearsall, and other weapons at his disposal.

It will be key if the offensive line can open some running lanes for CMC and his backups.
 
I think he will do fine. It’s kind of a make it or break it game for him. He wins and he may get another opportunity to start as a journeyman vet somewhere else.

Rooting for Mac Jones as well. Hopefully this stint with the 49ers gets him another starting shot like it did for Darnold.
 
Feel bad for Purdy but happy for Mac Jones. Just like the other white Jones (Daniel), I hope he can have a breakout game.
 
Too bad Mac was drafted after The Genius had gone "woke," his career arc could have been so much different, but yes like Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, Ryan Tannehill and others he still has time to turn it around and San Fran is as good a place for him to be right now as any.
