Hey, cynicaloptimist can you add this to the original post? As well as
Willie Rose?
LUKE LIPPINCOTT HIGHLIGHTS
I was just going to put this on the highlights of players going pro thread but it seems this one is more popular this year as we can cover more White prospects because there isn't easily found footage of all of them. So it makes sense to put it on both.
I had this done a while back and have been waiting to hear back from Nevada's
WolfPackAthletics youtube channel, I asked them for a 69 yard run against Utah State and a 85 yard run against Fresno State because the footage I had were weird angles and cut off before the run finishes. They never responded back.
They pretty much ignore Luke in their videos, pretty much all highlights are of Vai Taua and Colin Kaepernick, even though Luke was a vital part of their offense this year, making it the first time in history a school has had 3 1,000 yard rushers in one season. So with the draft nearing I had to put it up without better footage of both of those runs.
Luke Lippincott is very underrated. Had 1000+ yards rushing this season splitting carries with Vai Taua, averaging 7.7 ypc with 9 tds.
In 2007 he had 1400+ rushing yards and 15 tds but suffered an injury in 08 and lost his starting job. I know its very popular for dwfs to compare a White player to another White player, but Luke Lippincott really does remind me of Craig James who I recently got footage of.
They are both 6'1 215 pounds, but still run with power of a back with 230+ pounds. Both look similar in their running styles. Craig could have had multiple 1k seasons in the NFL if it weren't for injuries (I believe that is why he declined in his career). He was the last White rb to get over 1k in a season.
The only time Ive seen him in a dwfs mock is on a Patriots forum going in the 7th round, saying he could do well in a Sammy Morris type role. In reality he should go a lot higher, but will probably wind up as an UDFA.
Watching this video, I can't see why Sean Weatherspoon is so highly regarded. He doesn't seem to be a playmaker at all but is rated as a first round linebacker. I noticed it when I made the Luke video a while back, and I noticed it when I made the Jake Sharp video.
He also allowed a ton of yards from Navy's triple option by guys like Vince Murray, but maybe he doesn't have to worry, because if the Caste system continues the way it is, he won't have to face White backs in the NFL.
People give him a slide on the Texas bowl because "no ones really familiar with the triple option" and its just "so hard to stop". Weatherspoon admitted that even though they knew what Navy was going to do, their offense somehow "made him lose his instincts"
Meanwhile Iowa's defense with guys like Klug, Angerer, Edds, Sash etc. were able to shut down GTechs triple option, that is with a top rb prospect in Dwyer. Funny how they didn't lose their "instincts"
Does anyone else have a comparison for who Luke is like as a runningback?
