What does this all mean to black scholarship players if their are no games? Will they show up on campus? What does this mean to the coaching staffs, AD's, etc.? Just wondering.

Basically what I thought when I read that blurb yesterday, that the females and female like males who run the Big 10 were running a trial balloon. IMO the anger didn't have all that much to do with the waffling it was more or less a few coaches flaunting the authority and seeking options to play. Women and males who think like women are all about authority over others but no responsibility for anything. I'm actually quite surprised at the Ohio State coach coming right out and saying he was looking for options, I'd expect him to play nice boy conservative type and want to have that useless "discussion" with the "liberals" who run the Big Ten. Even Franklin screwed up a little bit of T, I guess the threat of losing a big paycheck was enough.

I wuz wrong. Nebraska did disagree and put out a press release saying that they are willing to entertain options at playing.

If Nebraska goes rogue there is a good chance they would get kicked out of the Big Ten which is second only to the SEC as far as football revenue. Nebraska would then lose the 52 million dollars they receive from the Big Ten. Put all that into the blender and chances are pretty slim Nebraska actually follows through with their talk.

Of course as of today three remaining Power 5 conferences plan on playing. Will that be the case two weeks from today? A month? Could they conceivably start a season that gets interrupted which would involve massive lawsuits? Time will tell. I am still thinking the whole shebang shuts down.

But if these conferences play a full schedule successfully then the commissioners etc. of the Big Ten and the Pac 12, who are being massively derided at the moment by most media outlets, will forever go down in history as scare mongering losers of the first degree. They will never live it down.

Most outlets claim spring ball can't be done but even it is played they predict most if not not all off the top draft type players will skip out. One scenario they don't bring up is the real possibility that COVID could be under control by the spring of 2021. My best guess is a vaccine to go along with continuing better therapeutics will be in place by as early as late winter or sometime in the spring. And the virus will not be a public concern anymore. For example crowds will be allowed to gather again.

If that happens then we would be watching a Saturday afternoon game in March where Michigan State plays Michigan at the Big House with half the state of Michigan stuffed into the stadium. In that case what if Nebraska blows it's load with an interrupted season? They would be missing out on their ever faithful fan base selling out their games and for good measure losing their Big Ten revenue as they scramble to find another conference to join.

Either way these are tough decisions. The NFL on the other hand is not tough at all. They can play if they follow simple protocols. Do you really think the NFL will be sidelined as the NBA, NHL and MLB restarted their seasons? I mightily doubt it.

But as far as college football only the shadow knows which way the winds of the future will blow?

A bit of news from Florida State no less. He might have been mentioned here at CF in the 2020 thread before but Iowa State Star QB Brock Purdy's younger brother Chubba initially committed to Louisville but switched to Florida State. A 6'2" 210 QB with 4.4 plus speed he might be buried a bit on their depth chart as a freshman but the Florida State's QB situation isn't all that secure so who knows. He could emerge sooner than expected since he has exciting tools.

Nebraska should of stayed in the Big 12 (that's a moot point I know). It does seem like both Ohio St and Michigan are not totally on board with the Big Ten's decision either. These are three "blue blood" teams when it comes to college football. It is kind of comical watching all of this indecision and the NCAA losing control of the situation - they and all of these teams stand to lose a ton of money with a lost football season. Considering what academia is today I am enjoying that aspect of this just as much.

Interesting "get" for FSU though - didn't they reel in another highly regarded white QB as well. Norvell does not seem to be completely selling out as Fuente did when he left Memphis for Va Tech.

I don't like teams straying too far away from their geography to join big boy conferences. I agree Nebraska belongs in the Big 12 and their rivalry with Oklahoma ranked as among the greatest of all time.

Florida State will never be mistaken with Iowa but it does seem Norvell is less caste than his predecessors. DE Josh Griffis signed with Florida but switched after Norvell took over. Described as having incredible quickness.

Other 2020 White signees include a pro style QB, Tate Rodemaker, an athletic Australian ex rugby player punter Alex Mastromanno and a tight end Carter Boatwright.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day came up with what I think makes good sense given the current situation. Instead of spring football he basically wants a January/February season. This will help mitigate a full scale exit from draft types which would include linebackers Pete Werner and Tuf Borland. It also buys some time to get all of the safety ducks in order. And who knows where the therapeutics will be at that time not to mention a vaccine might be available sometime early in 2021.

I really think all the conferences that bailed should take Day's proposal seriously. And just think if three of the remaining Power 5 teams also bail this idea should really pick up steam as we move forward.

Feel really bad for the Players & Coaches that wanted to move forward. The heart issue came up with Big 10 Medical team on a few players (Feeny O-Line/Indiana)
Why does the PAC 12 seemed married to the Big 10? Past Rose Bowls?

They were also late to the game in the BCS Era. Disappointed in their lack of leadership!

Nebraska (maybe they belong back in Big 12 after all?) & Iowa still want to play! I'm sure Harbaugh is fuming! Ohio State & Penn State are mad too!

But do think it would be cool for the IVY League & other FCS in the Spring ; better exposure ; i sure would like to watch!

This is Garrett Groshek’s time to shine as a senior....It kills me Big 10:football won’t be playing....Borghi still has another year (Stay in school!) Funk would’ve got playing time..
What running backs are going to play in September? McDaniel, Trotter....Remsberg a couple games.....ugghhhh

Shadow is right. All the tough talk out of some of the coaches is probably the same type of gruel conservatives are fed after the latest rout of "we'll keep fighting" and "send more money."

All I can hang my hat on is at least it's the left shooting its own voters in the face, myself being a young Boomer fortunate enough to be contrarian that I can move on and do my own thing, but I imagine that a good many DWFs and sports junkies have got to be hurting.

I feel it brother. Was looking forward to Groshek going out with a stellar SR season. Some normalcy of a CFB would have been welcome with this experiment of a year we've had.

Nebraska has given up on the idea of going rogue. I guess the idea of losing that itsy bitsy 55 million bucks persuaded them to get in line.

It does make me wonder if the three Power 5 school holdouts are doing it to look good for their alumni and fans until they eventually pull the plug? There are already some brush fires starting on a couple of ACC teams. At the moment though the hold outs seem like real "macho" men as the Big Ten and Pac 12 have that castrated look. I don't know what to make of things.

But the "big" news is New Mexico State has decided to skip the fall season too. I know, we were all sitting on pins and needles wondering which way they would go. Hell New Mexico State could drop their football program altogether and no one would notice or give a damn. Ha.

Jack Sawyer the no. 1 football recruit has opted out of his senior year of high school and will enroll early at Ohio State. He is a 6'5" 230 lbs defensive lineman from Pickerington High School in Ohio.

Sawyer tore his ACL his junior season and probably thinks the extra time off will be beneficial. But with many high school football schools up in the air about playing this fall I anticipate a boat load of senior high school football players speeding things up and enrolling early.

Two teams to keep an eye on. Vanderbilt and Duke. Duke bailed on basketball early this past spring. I would not be surprised if they are the first team in the ACC to bail on fall ball.

Adding to your sentiments, I think the DWFs need to be broken out of their addiction. Just like other vices, including but not limited to drinking, gambling, drug use, over eating, pornography and video games, football has a negative effect on these people’s lives. It channels natural things like tribalism and masculinity and redirects it to worshipping other men (mostly black) engage in pseudo-battles. Without college football, these White men could utilize these emotions and instincts towards more productive means.

So with that said, I am glad that college football is getting shutdown. In fact, I want the other conferences to follow suite and would argue that it’s most important that the SEC and ACC close shop. These conferences arguably have the most conservative fan base as they make up the “red” states in the southeast part of the country. The amount of time, money, energy and passion wasted by these right-leaning White men over decades of integrated football is unfathomable.

I really think the decision makers (school presidents?) who are voting to “shut it down”, and are likely overwhelmingly very liberal, are really making a huge mistake. Taking the opiate away from the masses is a shortsighted reaction, that politicization of this relatively harmless virus necessitated. The liberal bourgeoisie are not going to like the reaction when the proletariat realize they don’t need or miss college football as much as they thought.

Great post my friend! Football is a big money maker for many of the major college football teams but serves as a drain on the economy of smaller lesser known schools/universities. With remote learning becoming a likelihood for many schools this fall - tuition rates are also going to take a hit due to students not having to pay for a full semester tuition - room and board, meal plan and all those other price gouging charges that colleges use to pad their pockets. Most bigger institutions will survive but we may see some fail and go under. The college/university bubble needs to pop - so many schools have been building and expanding, paying fat salaries to tenured professors who are at the core of the cultural meltdown. They have mismanaged their own budgets due to greed and hopefully this whole "crisis" ends up really destroying a lot of higher education and exposing it as a farce. Back to the football side of thing maybe some of these pathetic boosters that take part in the corrupt recruiting of these undeserving black kids who have no business being in college due to grades will spend there money elsewhere or even save it since there very well may be no football.

May have been mentioned here previously but highly rated LB Levi Draper bolted from the Sooners last year and landed with Arkansas. He is eligible to play immediately and has two years left. Perhaps he gets to show off his talents with the Razorbacks? Oklahoma in their caste iron program relegated him to special teams.

I had mentioned in a post last season that I thought it was strange that junior TE Grant Calcaterra decided to quit football half way through last season due to concussion issues. My thought at the time was how could that be since he saw the ball so infrequently? And I don't recall a specific hit? Apparently Grant, who was a junior last year, has reconsidered and wants to play football again. But not with the Sooners. He has entered the transfer portal and has one year left as a graduate transfer. Are White players at Oklahoma feeling the black caste vibe there and getting out of Dodge?

The timing of course couldn't be worse considering half the teams (or more) won't be playing in the fall.

Cacalterra was rated by some as the 4th best TE for the 2021 draft. I will add that he was rated that high without ever getting a chance to fully blossom. In other words he has a gigantic upside that has yet to be fully tapped. Wonder where he lands?

At the end of the day assuming he latches on with a team this is all around good news. A smooth electric athlete I hope everything works out for Grant.

That's some good news on Grant., thanks for that update @Shadowlight. I do hope he lands on his feet and is able to make a strong impact. Oklahoma might be the most loathsome team in all of D-1 football since the cuck Lincoln Riley took over - he sure has a penchant for non white QBs - Murray, Hurts, this new mulatto hype job he recruited last year and this year he got another high ranking quoataback.

My guess is Grant might of wised up a little bit and saw what was going on. Oklahoma has put out 1st round WRs the past few years while he took a backseat and was risking his health for limited targets over the middle while the undersized affletic WRs were getting all the glory.

BYU continues to scramble putting together a serviceable schedule. As mentioned before they open on ESPN on Labor Day at Navy at 8:00. They play at Army two weeks later on CBS. They are looking into Army visiting BYU too this season. They added Troy September 26th.

Also have later games scheduled against Houston and North Alabama even though their conference has postponed their league.

Wake Forrest WR Sage Surratt ( tall and slow looking) has decided to skip the season and concentrate on the draft. Expect more defections from players scheduled to play this fall. If there is spring ball I imagine many NFL prospects will take a pass. I wonder if this means redshirt freshman WR Nolan Groulx will get more snaps? Also Taylor Morin is listed as their primary punt returner according to one source?

For me everything leads back to one question. Why would the Big Ten boss Kevin Warren risk everything to postpone the season? Is it possible the SEC and ACC are playing a PR game right now to keep the wolves (alumni, players, coaches and fans) at bay until they pull the plug later on?

Warren, whose son is a TE for Miss State, has already received massive abuse from most quarters of the media and to fans from Madison to Happy Valley he is the epitome of evil. The best thought I can come up with is he is very confident in his decision to call off the fall? Having already been lambasted things could get much worse for this man. If say the SEC and ACC etc. successfully pull off a season Warren will be, at the very least, tarred and feathered while being run out of town. Actually the more likely scenario would be a live televised broadcast from Columbus Ohio where Warren is castrated in the public square. Seems to me he would have been better off laying in the weeds for a bit before yanking the season? He is basically risking his life on his big decision.

Only time will fill out this puzzle of a situation.

I find it amusing that Warren folded the Big Ten like a cheap lawn chair. The First Black Big Ten Commissioner ruined 2020, hot start to his job! Bring back Delaney lol.

Oliver Martin has transferred again - this time to Nebraska. Three schools and minimal playing time so far. Hopefully he can catch on at Nebraska.

Good Lord Oliver "ping pong" Martin. As a walk on no less which I think makes him immediately eligible to play.

The silver lining is it would be nice to see him blossom in Nebraska, a team I follow religiously.
