What does this all mean to black scholarship players if their are no games? Will they show up on campus? What does this mean to the coaching staffs, AD's, etc.? Just wondering.
If Nebraska goes rogue there is a good chance they would get kicked out of the Big Ten which is second only to the SEC as far as football revenue. Nebraska would then lose the 52 million dollars they receive from the Big Ten. Put all that into the blender and chances are pretty slim Nebraska actually follows through with their talk.
Of course as of today three remaining Power 5 conferences plan on playing. Will that be the case two weeks from today? A month? Could they conceivably start a season that gets interrupted which would involve massive lawsuits? Time will tell. I am still thinking the whole shebang shuts down.
But if these conferences play a full schedule successfully then the commissioners etc. of the Big Ten and the Pac 12, who are being massively derided at the moment by most media outlets, will forever go down in history as scare mongering losers of the first degree. They will never live it down.
Most outlets claim spring ball can't be done but even it is played they predict most if not not all off the top draft type players will skip out. One scenario they don't bring up is the real possibility that COVID could be under control by the spring of 2021. My best guess is a vaccine to go along with continuing better therapeutics will be in place by as early as late winter or sometime in the spring. And the virus will not be a public concern anymore. For example crowds will be allowed to gather again.
If that happens then we would be watching a Saturday afternoon game in March where Michigan State plays Michigan at the Big House with half the state of Michigan stuffed into the stadium. In that case what if Nebraska blows it's load with an interrupted season? They would be missing out on their ever faithful fan base selling out their games and for good measure losing their Big Ten revenue as they scramble to find another conference to join.
Either way these are tough decisions. The NFL on the other hand is not tough at all. They can play if they follow simple protocols. Do you really think the NFL will be sidelined as the NBA, NHL and MLB restarted their seasons? I mightily doubt it.
But as far as college football only the shadow knows which way the winds of the future will blow?
A bit of news from Florida State no less. He might have been mentioned here at CF in the 2020 thread before but Iowa State Star QB Brock Purdy's younger brother Chubba initially committed to Louisville but switched to Florida State. A 6'2" 210 QB with 4.4 plus speed he might be buried a bit on their depth chart as a freshman but the Florida State's QB situation isn't all that secure so who knows. He could emerge sooner than expected since he has exciting tools.
This is Garrett Groshek’s time to shine as a senior....It kills me Big 10:football won’t be playing....Borghi still has another year (Stay in school!) Funk would’ve got playing time..
What running backs are going to play in September? McDaniel, Trotter....Remsberg a couple games.....ugghhhh
Adding to your sentiments, I think the DWFs need to be broken out of their addiction. Just like other vices, including but not limited to drinking, gambling, drug use, over eating, pornography and video games, football has a negative effect on these people’s lives. It channels natural things like tribalism and masculinity and redirects it to worshipping other men (mostly black) engage in pseudo-battles. Without college football, these White men could utilize these emotions and instincts towards more productive means.Shadow is right. All the tough talk out of some of the coaches is probably the same type of gruel conservatives are fed after the latest rout of "we'll keep fighting" and "send more money."
All I can hang my hat on is at least it's the left shooting its own voters in the face, myself being a young Boomer fortunate enough to be contrarian that I can move on and do my own thing, but I imagine that a good many DWFs and sports junkies have got to be hurting.

So with that said, I am glad that college football is getting shutdown. In fact, I want the other conferences to follow suite and would argue that it’s most important that the SEC and ACC close shop. These conferences arguably have the most conservative fan base as they make up the “red” states in the southeast part of the country. The amount of time, money, energy and passion wasted by these right-leaning White men over decades of integrated football is unfathomable.
I really think the decision makers (school presidents?) who are voting to “shut it down”, and are likely overwhelmingly very liberal, are really making a huge mistake. Taking the opiate away from the masses is a shortsighted reaction, that politicization of this relatively harmless virus necessitated. The liberal bourgeoisie are not going to like the reaction when the proletariat realize they don’t need or miss college football as much as they thought.
Some Oklahoma news. Well not really. More about Oklahoma cast offs.
May have been mentioned here previously but highly rated LB Levi Draper bolted from the Sooners last year and landed with Arkansas. He is eligible to play immediately and has two years left. Perhaps he gets to show off his talents with the Razorbacks? Oklahoma in their caste iron program relegated him to special teams.
I had mentioned in a post last season that I thought it was strange that junior TE Grant Calcaterra decided to quit football half way through last season due to concussion issues. My thought at the time was how could that be since he saw the ball so infrequently? And I don't recall a specific hit? Apparently Grant, who was a junior last year, has reconsidered and wants to play football again. But not with the Sooners. He has entered the transfer portal and has one year left as a graduate transfer. Are White players at Oklahoma feeling the black caste vibe there and getting out of Dodge?
The timing of course couldn't be worse considering half the teams (or more) won't be playing in the fall.
Cacalterra was rated by some as the 4th best TE for the 2021 draft. I will add that he was rated that high without ever getting a chance to fully blossom. In other words he has a gigantic upside that has yet to be fully tapped. Wonder where he lands?
At the end of the day assuming he latches on with a team this is all around good news. A smooth electric athlete I hope everything works out for Grant.
