Well it is the end of season, and many sprinters are tired now.
Edward got 20.26, almost same than Lemaitre and Edward runs few 100m.

It is not good season for Lemaitre but not horrible like somebody tells here.

10.10 for Lemaitre, 20.08 and 3 medals in european championship.

I give him a 6.5 in my notes

Dont kid yourself, its horrible...3 years of regression..it used to be he would come in 3rd or 4th in the 100, not 4th- 5th in the 200 his strength event...He needs to change, but no worries RCSMAN, he will never leave France or Carraz, so you can chill out.

He runs at Rieti in the 100m tomorrow.
Times are usually fast there because of the altitude, but I'm not expecting much from Lemaitre.

Both this season and last season, Lemaitre peaked for the Championships, but did little before or after each championships.
It's great that he peaked at the right time, but he seems less capable than ever of running fast times consistently. He's down to one or two fast times at important meets/yr, and just ordinary times otherwise.
He seems to lack endurance / strength more than ever.
I fear the worst for this talented Frenchmen.

10.15 for Lemaitre in Rieti , +0.7 wind

It is not bad time although not really good neither.

I hope that he has good race in the Continental Cup the next week, his last race in this season, i think

I'm ok with the time by Christophe Lemaitre. To run a 10.15 at the end of the season is actually better than I would have expected. To be honest, I'm suprised he is still racing after having a mediocre year. At least he won 3 medals at the euro champs. The hilite of the summer. Hoping for the return of "The Master" next summer. Damn do I want to see him running sub 10's and sub 20's again.

I'm very happy with the time by Michael Tumi. He had a very serious injury and has raced very little this summer with most of his races being slower than u.s. high school boy times. Good to see him get a 10.20's time in the give him confidence going into next year.

Yes, 10.15 is not bad when he began the season with horrible times in 100m, it is the reality.

I see sub20 very possible in short time, he got a very good 20.08 this year and others 20.1-20.2 races.

But in 100 umm, this year was very weak in this event.
I see very hard sub10 in short time if he doest not get minimum decent starts...

Regards and luck to big Lemaitre

Lemaitre is has turned to a average 10.15-10.20 100 meter, and 20.05 - 20.30 200 meter man. I see no improvement in the future unless he decides to take some extra 'vitamins' or most importantly, leave his current surroundings and train with different people who can push him to go faster. 3+ years of regression

20.28 (+0.2) and 4th place.
Lemaitre is slowly, slowly fading. Race by race, season by season.
Fading from spectacular to very good, to now just pretty good.
What a waste. A tragedy really.

....and he will continue to stay with the same coach, same club, same environment...when something is not working, and after 3 years of regression, it makes obvious sense what needs to be done....but RCSMAN will say otherwise: his times are good, just look at the wind, the altitude, the barometric pressure, the fact he drank 1 gallon of milk the night before and carried an extra pound on him etc... always with the dumb idiotic ignorant excuses...what a shame...4th place in the 100, yes, not in the 200, his supposed strong event...looks like his best days are done.

Christophe ran an epic leg in the World Relays 4 x 200 last night--especially impressive given that he, like other European runners, hasn't started his season yet, and so is far behind the Caribbeans and Americans in getting into race shape.

The TV coverage and replay is awful, partly owing to the massive staggers, partly due to the idiotic decision to cut to close ups of US runners which make it impossible to see the rest of the field. This is what's clear: Christophe is running the second leg. Prior to the race the announcers mentioned that the French put him in that leg to go against the heavy wind. Christophe is one of the last runners to get the baton. I was very disappointed to see the US and Jamaican guys start off so far ahead of him. Owing to the stagger, you couldn't see him after the first few strides, but the announcers commented that the French were in real trouble. Next thing you know, there is Christophe, handing the baton to Pessoneaux in first place.

Man, I wish we could see his run. It must have been ridiculous. The announcers were shocked to see the French inexplicably in the lead and quickly commented on LeMaitre's leg. Oh, and FWIW, in the shock of the evening, Pessoneaux held on, and the French remained in first place going into the final leg. At that point, unfortunately, they passed it to Bassaw who relinquished the lead to Jamaica.

One other note, LeMaitre is considering changing his training base. He doesn't have indoor facilities in Aix, and he's been getting behind every winter, unable to practice his starts.

Very excited to see Christophe showing some serious speed again.

I watched again. The US and Jamaicans got the baton EONS ahead of Christophe. Watch the replay. Pause it at second 32, then second 33, then 34, then 35. It appears the US and Jamaicans are making the exchange around 32/33, Christophe does not receive the baton until second 35. Unreal. In the early part of his leg, the announcers commented "The French are out of it."

And there is no doubt he finished his leg ahead of the US or Jamaican runner. This was unrelated to the poor handoffs, which helped Pessoneaux. Look at second 55. Christophe has put the baton in P's hand already. Neither the US or Jamaican runner has even been reached. Incredible.

The French are in lane 4 wearing white:
