Hi guys

Emile had a successful provincial championship. Posting a link to the final still very rusty after 6 month layoff. Struggled in heats and semis to get out the blocks but early days yet. Had a bit of a head wind and no competition so took it relatively easy. He has 4 meets in April which we are looking forward to. Will keep you up to date.

Jack Hale is in tough in the men's 100m this Saturday at the Queensland Track Classic. He faces his rivals from Aussieland and some good Japanese sprinters. Here is the start list:

I couldn't understand a word but I gleaned a lot from this clip. Su Bingtian certainly gets deeply into training - I'm sure they understand the "where-fors and whys" for the training he does

That's a cool video. It looks as though Su has an almost perfect form. He comes out of the blocks in a drive phase and then transitions at the right time to his top end speed phase. I'm no expert in sprinting, but that seems to be a problem that Lemaitre and to some extent Guliyev have had during their careers.

I think the Australians are going to have a tough time with the Japanese sprinters. I would love to see Kiryu live up to his potential, and become a consistent sub-10 sprinter.

So he's been hidden away, but Rohan Browning is Australia's fastest man - a virtual tie with Yoshi Kiryu and a world qualifying time. Equal 3rd (with Joshua Ross) fastest Australian of all time and only just 20.
Another slight PB for Jack Hale but legally under 10.20. This defeat should make him hot and ready for the Australian champs in a week and a bit. 10.27 a new PB for Alex Hartmann our best 200 man.
We could have a half decent relay team on our hands

I agree. Fast men indeed, but the 2 guys you mention have never perfected the phases in my judgement. They've never become consistent 100 metre performers.
Maybe that's why they were both best at 200 where speed endurance makes up some of the technical deficit

Browning looked a bit awkward at the finish? Slight stumble maybe, I think he wins if not and goes 10.07. Hale very poor start and was never a factor. He was being left in the last 30m. If he puts it all together he will blaze! Browning great physique for sprinting. Great finish by both browning and Kiryu. Nice to see the Japanese sprinter Cambridge get smacked...

Rohan Browning blazing to a new p.b. and world championships qualifying time of 10.08! To make it even more impresive it was Rohans first 100 meter race this year.

I was glad to see Hartmann finish well for his 10.27 in lane 8.
At his size he'll never start terribly well (198 cms or 6'6" and 100 kgs) but his finish showed decent speed for his 200 specialty. A nice replacement back straight relay guy too.

Still no Trae sighting? I hope he doesn't have a significant injury. He needs to be in these races to get ready for the Australian National Championships in a few weeks.

they start tomorrow week actually - I'd say they're giving him as long as possible to recover from injury and will start him in the champs next week. I can't see him getting near a qualifier though based on recent history. Maybe he'll do some races in Japan. We sometimes do that to get qualifiers closer to the time - and we run a series of sprints in Qld at Runaway Bay just before cut off time for qualifying - it's at sea level but nice and warm during our winter

Does anybody know who his coach is . By the way keep an eye out for American Matt boling ncaa Georgia

Browning's coach is Andrew Murphy, probably our best ever triple jumper scoring between 56 and 57 feet (17m+) for 7 years and a 10.46/100

Thanks multi ...Murphy rings a bell alright ......and your right the Aussies are not far off a quality 4 by 100 or indeed 4 by 200 for the world relays .....great to see ...browning what a young talent ..

I watched an interview on youtube with Boling after his excellent 10.22. In an amazing reversal of the norm - most of the crowd and the announcer were black yet the winner was this young white guy - very polite and respectful and he received warm applause and "ooh/ah"s from the stands because of his good performance. Nice to see. Is he only 17? because 10.22 is terrific as was his 200.
There was "this fast white guy" some years ago who ran down south from the delta but seems to have disappeared off the radar.

Boling runs this afternoon in the heats of the 100m at the Texas Relays.
I'm super curious to see how he does.
The Finals will be sometime this weekend.

Boling ran a windy 10.21 in the heats. Next fastest time was 10.47w.
So he 0.26 seconds clear of the next fastest competitor.
This kid is something very, very special.

Some encouraging early results this Friday:
Adam Gemili of Great Britain won the Florida Relays 100m in 10.14 (2.6w).
Yuki Koike of Japan won the Stanford Relays 100m in 10.07 (2.8w).

One guy that has disapeared for the most part since he came to America on a scholarship in Kristoffer Hari. I had such high hopes for this
kid but he seems to have stagnated and then regressed. Not sure why but hoping he can still turn it around.

I've said it before and will say it again. Matt Boling needs to stick with the 100 and 200 meters for good! He was born to be a sprinter. Such
a natural and he makes it look almost effortless even though we know how hard he trains. Please keep running the 100 & 200 meters!

Boling just won the Boys Long Jump at the Texas Relays - 26ft - 3-1/2 inches.
#1 in the country I believe.

Maybe he is the white Carl Lewis and Boling is so young with so much upside. Keep sprinting Matt. What an amazing athlete!
