Incredible. KC picked the small and slow (although Kiper claimed he was "lightning quck") McCluster, when they have a young RB that looked very good last year in Charles, and signed Thomas Jones as well. Tampa Bay passed by Clausen as well. After all, they have the super impressive rookie from last season, Josh Freeman, who put up worse stats than much maligned "busts" like Heath Shuler and Cade McNown.

Buffalo and Cleveland desperately need a QB. Seattle is in a position to pick one, too. Clausen was originally projected to be taken #4 overall. He is still on the board over a round later. I know they need to have a white player drop every year at the draft, but this is really getting ridiculous.

What did Jimmy Clausen do? Has he been running around screaming that "Oswald didn't do it" or something?

It's just like what happened to Brady Quinn. He was supposed to be picked very early yet he dropped to #22. Clausen didn't even get picked in the first round which is ridiculous.

If Buffalo and Oakland pass up Clausen and McCoy for more DTs and DBs. . .worst draft ever so far by a significant margin.

Yea this is the most disturbing draft I have witnessed...foolishly i was optimisitic this year would show somewhat of an increase of white players...i think this could be the worst draft on record.

Wow- Cleveland didn't take either of them. I guess the ancient Delhomme and magical Seneca Wallace are much better prospects than Clausen or McCoy. Now Tampa Bay trades up with Oakland. Must be to take a QB, right? After all, they only have the thoroughly unimpressive Josh Freeman. Nope, another afflete, a WR to "help" the young afflete Freeman. As Kuiper says, "Finally, they get Josh Freeman some help."

I don't think any NFL personnel people have been reading the posts on Caste Football, judging by the record number of blacks being drafted. At this point, I'm not sure Clausen will be drafted in the second round.

What you're seeing here is the result of years of racism by college scouts and recruiting services. NFL teams can only choose among the players available in college. Since Rivals, et al, have redefined what 'football player' means, the college ranks have filled up with negroes at a greatly inflated rate.
Think of how bad "recruiting season" has been the past couple of years in college football. Now consider that those are the classes that will make up the NFL draft in three years and onward.

The Patriots have 2 of the next 3 picks. What will Bill do? Let's see, if he follows the herd he'll draft an obese DT and a small, slow safety.

Now all we need is the Patriots to pick up Gerhart with the next pick. NFL.com has good things to say about Gronkowski. Here is their analysis.

Gronkowski has prototypical size and good speed. Shows fluid hips and
runs precise routes. Possesses the lateral quickness and burst to get
open in man coverage. Catches the ball away from his chest and displays
good body control. Effective blocker that can generate a push. Very
productive in his two seasons in the Pac-10.

Kiper calls him "stiff" and says he'll be a good blocker.

Let's see, that's about 9 or 10 defensive tackles taken already. These guys keep flopping in the NFL and the NFL just keeps on drafting them.
