He was supposed to go to Florida A&M, but he wasn't on their track roster this year, and I can't find any collegiate marks for him. It looks like he took a year off (2023) after high school.

Well here is a big surprise! I had never heard of Tyler Azcano until a week ago, and yesterday he ran a legal 10.09 to finish 2nd at the US U20 (under 20) Championships! WOW!!!

Here's the race.... I still think Boling is going too hard in the 2nd 100m. He needs to hold back a bit there, and save something for the stretch. Still, he made the team.

Boling 6th in 45.17. That puts him on the relay squad (I believe). Congratulations!

Abby Steiner, Jenna Prandini, and Mia Brahe-Pedersen advance to the 200m Semi-finals.

It seems Boling is listening . . . he DNS (did not start) in his 200m heat.

Elian Larrengina of Argentina, ran a 45.34 400m at a meet in Belgium. He is 23 yrs old, and I believe that is a new national record.

Boling would be foolish, even stupid, to run that 200m heat today. He has almost no chance to make the team in the 200m. But if he finishes in the top 6 in the 400m, he has a good chance to be selected for the relay. This is his opportunity to go to the World Championships. So he needs to focus...

Here is Mia's semi-final. She's last for most of the race, but comes on strong at the end.

Just watched Mia's semi-final. She had/has a terrible start . . . but great closing speed. So still lots of room for improvement. A bright future ahead.

I also keep wondering when we are going to hear more from this young Brazilian sprinter. He didn't participate in the 100m at the Brazilian Championships going on this week. Maybe he will show up at 200m. Hope so. I want to see him make some noise.

I wonder what is happening with Ingvaldsen? He withdrew from the Diamond League meet in Stockholm, and also didn't compete at the Norwegian Championships this week. I hope he's not injured.

I think if he goes out a little more conservatively in his 2nd 100, he can finish better. On the other hand, I think running the 400m three times in 3 days, might be too much for him to lower his PB into the 44s in the final. He's already had a long and full collegiate season. So I agree....I...

Well, Matthew Boling makes it into the finals of the 400m. He is the slowest qualifier, but still impressive, given that this event hasn't been his focus since high school.

Also Harrison Williams, Zach Ziemek, and Austin West, went 1-2-3 in the decathlon. I think that's the first time this has happened in decades.

Well it looks to me that Mia Brahe-Pedersen has made the 100m finals of the US Championships. Incredible for a high school junior!

As mentioned in the Matthew Boling thread, Boling finished 2nd in his 400m heat to move on to the next round. His time was a PB of 45.53. Meanwhile, someone we never talk about, Brian Faust of Kentucky, also qualified for the next round, running a time of 45.41! Also a PB.

The high schooler, Mia Brahe-Pedersen, performed best of the trio, running an 11.05 to qualify (Q) for the semi-finals. She had the =5th fastest time of all the qualifiers. Prandini qualified (q) on time (11.14), and Sant Price failed to move on.

As mentioned in another post, Matthew Boling will run in the 200m and 400m at the US Championships. The 400m comes first. I think running rounds of the 400m will be too tough for him, as he didn't compete at this event in college. In the 200m he is in the toughest heat by far, with Kenny...
