    Forgotten White Athletes?

If you watch the Jonathan Edwards video on youtube, you can also read the comments, which are all complimentary. I read there, that apparently Edwards was faster than Linford Christie and Colin Jackson over 30m. In fact Christie himself confirmed that. I wonder how fast he would have run the 100m?

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Samuele Ceccarelli ran 11.13 in Italy today. I don't know what happened, but he has fallen apart over the 2nd half of the season. But some good news in Poland - Amy Hunt ran a Season's Best 23.28 in the 200m, and Charlie Dobson ran 45.17 in the 400m with no competition to push him.

    Forgotten White Athletes?

The longest triple jump ever, by the greatest ever triple jumper. Incredible speed, and beautiful technique.

Unfortunately Dobson did not run today. I don't know why. He was on the start list the day before, but was replaced for the actual race. Hopefully not another injury! I would like him to see him run a 200m race before the season is out. He had a spectacular time on his leg of the 4x400m relay...

I am looking forward to Charlie Dobson in the 200m on the same day, in a meet in Berlin.

    2023 World Outdoor Season

The women's side of the World Championships was very exciting - mainly due to Femke Bol - but not quite as successful as the men's side. In the 100m Ewa Swoboda made the finals, finishing 6th in 10.97. She still has room for improvement, so hope to see her at the finals in Paris next year. In...

    2023 World Outdoor Season

I have been harping a lot on Germany and their lack of talent and poor performances across the board in track and field. This criticism has not been unjustified; they had ZERO medals at the World Championships. That's absolutely pathetic, especially considering they are the largest nation in...

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Charlie Dobson's relay split in the finals was an amazing 43.7 seconds! That's the 2nd fastest ever by a British athlete.

    2023 World Outdoor Season

I'm pretty happy with the way things turned out at the World Championships. Although there were no white athletes in the finals of the men's short sprints, Boling, Tortu, and Dobson, all picked up medals in the relays. I am sure this will give them confidence and inspire them going forward...

USA won the men's 4x400 relay. Boling will get another gold medal as he ran in the heats. Great Britain took 3rd, running Lewis Davey and Charlie Dobson. Good job by them.

Femke Bol, Leike Klaver, Eveline Saalberg, and Cathlejin Peeters win the women's 4x400 relay in dramatic fashion. Bol came from behind to pass Great Britain and then Jamaica (at the line) to take the Gold!! And a World Leading time as well! Congratulations to these Dutch girls!

Jakob Ingebrigtsen wins the 5000m. He is now a 2-time WC gold medalist in this event. Keely Hodgkinson of Britain beat Athing Mu, but still came in 2nd to a Kenyan. Still, a great showing, as usual, for Keely.

Italy uses the same line-up in the final and takes 2nd behind the USA, and ahead of Jamaica. Pretty impressive! -Update: Just saw the race online. Tortu with a fantastic final leg to secure the silver. Wow! Why can't he run like this in individual races?! Perhaps his relay performances...

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Very interesting Men's 4x400m relay heats. The USA had Trevor Bassitt and Matthew Boling run legs #1 and #2. Bassitt's opening leg was 45.29 and Boling split 44.39. Charlie Dobson of Great Britain ran their 2nd leg (against Boling), and ran 44.44. The USA won their heat, but very, very...

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Italy were the fastest qualifiers in the 4x100m at the World Championships. They ran a World Leading time of 37.65. Their team was Roberto Rigali, Lamont Jacobs, Lorenzo Patta, and Filippo Tortu. I don't know if they will bring in Ceccarelli for the finals. But either way, they are running a...

    2023 World Outdoor Season

18 year old Niels Laros made the WC finals of the 1500m, and performed incredibly well. He was right in the mix (3rd/4th place) into the last turn, and then faded down the final stretch. Still, he set a National Record for the Netherlands. Meanwhile, 19 yr old Agate Caune of Latvia, ran an...

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Interesting that Ingebrigsten lost this year's WC and last year's WC, to Scottish runners. Last year Wightman, this year Kerr. As I've said before, Norway and Scotland are both punching far above their weight in T&F. And Scots also have some Viking roots. So you could say that Vikings are...

Yes, big congratulations to Kaczmarek!!! As far as I am concerned, she is the gold medalist because Paulino is another Caster Semenya - not fully female.

Sorry, but it is his fault. He ran only 20.46 in a fast heat. He couldn't have had a better opportunity to be the fastest qualifier. He just wasn't ready. He is reminiscent of Lemaitre now. And like Lemaitre, he needs to change coaches, or he's more or less done as an elite European sprinter.

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Renan Correa of Brazil and a couple of Japanese sprinters have made it through the heats to qualify for the semi-finals. Filippo Tortu and Ramil Guliyev were non-qualifiers.

    2023 World Outdoor Season

I see that Correa won the 200m at the Pan Am U20 Championships earlier this month in Puerto Rico. His time was 20.44. We've already noted that Tyler Azcano won the 100m, and Will Floyd of Canada won the 400m. So it was a clean sweep for white sprinters at these Games. Unfortunately, I can't...

    2023 World Outdoor Season

True about the high jump. Meanwhile, excited to see that Correa is entered in the 200m. But I will temper any expectations, since he has been injured most of the year. Also Ramil Guliyev is on the start lists for the 200m.
