Should be a good challenge for Warholm.

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Well I disagree. First off, Lemaitre has never enjoyed running. It's always been obvious that he had no passion for the sport. Second, he just turned 33 years old. Perhaps if he were in his 40s, and showing up at meets, it might be exciting for younger runners to be competing against him. But...

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Okay, I wrote this in April. All the high school sprinters impressed this season. In fact, I would say that they all exceeded expectations. On the other hand, Boling, Hilton, and Hunt have disappointed. Dobson had one good race and then got injured. Browning has been a little bit below...

I wish Christophe Lemaitre would retire. He came in last in his heat at a meet in France, running 10.71 with 1.9w. He is kind of embarrassing himself at this point. Meanwhile, Hassan Taftian ran 10.21 in the finals.

No wonder so many sprinters showed up for this meet. :)

I don't think Boling has the strength to do the rounds of the 400m. He certainly doesn't have the strength to do both the 200m and 400m. I think he should just do the 200m.

Checking the entries for US and US under 20 Championships, and came across I didn't know - Tyler Azcano. He is a freshman in college, and has a run a legal 10.22 and a windy 10.07 (2.6w). He will be running in U20 Championships next week.

Amy Hunt ran 11.47 100m on June 17th, and also ran a couple of 100m in May. She recently ran on the GBR relay at the European Team Championships. She was injured last year, and also finishing her university studies. I expect to see her running a lot more in the future, barring injuries...

    2023 World Outdoor Season

I wouldn't be surprised if Ceccarelli has a bit of a letdown on Friday. The European Team Championships were a big deal to him, as he was representing Italy, and felt much part of a team that was trying to win the Championships, which they did. So he might be drained both physically and...

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Tortu finishes 3rd in the 200m, running a crap time (for him) of 20.61. I can't believe how far he has fallen off from his peak. He's only 25 years old. Sad.

"His 10.0 WR has a side twist to it. Hary ran 10.0 HT twice because they annulled the first race from the flying start as seen in the video. His FAT (Fully Automatic Time) from the first race was 10.25 (10.0 HT) and 10.16 (10.0 HT) for the second race. And you wonder why I don’t like hand times?"

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Yes, I was surprised that Ceccarelli didn't do better. His top end speed in the relay was not impressive at all. Tortu, on the other hand, looked to have the best top end speed of anyone, yet he is running crap times in the individual races. Strange.

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Given how poorly (relatively) Boling has been running in the 100m and 200m this season, I think it might be a good thing for him to run the 400m today. If he puts up a good time, it could give him back some confidence. He has run well on the 4x400m relays, so I hope he does well today.

    2023 World Outdoor Season

I think Ceccarelli was running out of steam a bit, and also mis-judged the finish line, and started to flail at the end due to both. Otherwise, I think he would have been closer to 10.05.

Greatest White Sprinter of All Time

Conversely, Lemaitre has seven sub-10 100 meter times (and one 10.00), while Guliyev has only one sub-10 time. p.s. all Lemaitre's sub-10s (and his 10 flat) came in 2010 and 2011. He was great, but only for 2 seasons.
