I looked at the play by play and I did a quick count so I might be off a little but 16 of the first 20 plays run on first down were runs. The Broncos had 27 pass plays to 39 runs. The Broncos were trailing the entire game. The play-calling was atrocious - even in overtime with two possessions they attempted only one third down pass which resulted in a short Tebow run as the pressure was on. It seemed like the coaches wanted Tebow to fail. Who runs three times in a row to set-up a 52 yard field goal from a kicker who already missed two shorter field goals?

According to an AP article, the Broncos win was the largest deficit overcome with less than 3 minutes left in a game since the 1970 merger between the NFL and AFL.

All I can think of is how for 57 minutes the DWFs and self-hating white sports media were licking their chops and ready to write Tebow off and he just pulls that magic out of his hat. I was a big Flutie fan as a kid, and Tebow reminds me of a bigger,stronger faster Flutie.

Moving forward the Broncos need to put spread offense packages into their offense. All NFL offenses run out of shotgun a large percentage of the time so its not like the offense does not work in the NFL.

When you have an inexperienced QB making his first start, the accepted strategy is "don't have him pass too much."

Yeah, that is true. One of the well known talking heads was saying today that Tebow wasn't yet trusted enough to be given a lot of plays to work with. He said Tebow was limited with restrictive play calling on the part of his coaches. Hopefully they will trust him more soon.

Yesterday I heard a few minutes of sports radio in Atlanta today and heard 2 black jock-sniffers (who never say a negative word about Scam Newton) berate Tebow and his performance in every way possible. If Tebow was black, he'd be the next "all he do is win" end of story. To is credit, I did hear former Falcons head coach Dan Reeves praise Tebow and say he is a talented athlete and deserves a chance to showcase himself. Vince Dooley also said that Tebow is an extraordinary athlete and has the inner qualities that you want in a QB. He said he wants to see him do really well. On another show I heard one of the hosts say Tebow wasn't being allowed to do well so far. He said his coaches make it look like they don't want him to succeed.

That may be the slogan but it certainly isn't the practice. We've had plenty of inexperienced QBs this year to compare to but I doubt you can find even one game where the team behind attempted that many more runs than passes. It's just a slogan. It's clear that John Fox and the Broncos establishment want to prove themselves correct about Tebow's lack of ability. The narcissistic personalities in the NFL don't allow these people with indestructible egos to admit that they were wrong. I guess nobody likes to eat crow even when they should.

So what? Tebow is not yet a polished passer but he can become one with experience.

On Tuesday, Ram HOF DE Jack Youngblood was on the Jim Rome show pushing his new book. When asked about Tim Tebow, Jack said he will be a "bigger, stronger, faster Steve Young."

Tebow's stats aren't that bad, last year he started 3 games and was around the 50% mark throwing wise, which is aboutthe same as Michael Vick at this stage in his career. Nobody ever said Vick was all hype. He isn't as fast as Vick but is as good of a playmaker.

I replied to what you wrote which is that he was not getting pass plays called because he was an "inexperienced quarterback." If you want to change that to "he's not a polished passer" excuse then fine. I think he's being treated differently than any other athletic qb who is inexperienced and isn't considered a "polished passer." Cam Newton is the obvious comparison.

Nice find, I just downloaded it and encourage everyone too as well. Youtube has been pulling positive Tebow videos, even some of his college videos.

Love his confidence about running the ball, I don't think a White guy has been like that since John Riggins who started refusing to block when he was with the Redskins and demanded the ball be put in his hands. Maybe Hillis was like that and the reason they don't like him. "There's only one person that carries the ball right here"

Something I realized today, Skip Bayless is constantly praising Tebow, at first I didn't think anything of it but I wonder if this is scripted since it seems everyone hates Skip Bayless, including dwfs.

Tim Tebow, a.k.a. the most polarizing figure in the NFL, has now started two consecutive games for the Denver Broncos and has had some very mixed results. Although, he has collectively played about one quarter of what could be considered "good" football.

In Sunday's 45-10 loss at home to the Detroit Lions, Tebow completed a very pedestrian 18-of-39 passes for 172 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

This comes just a week after Tebow led the Broncos to a come-from-behind victory over the Miami Dolphins, in miraculous fashion.

Need we all be reminded that neither head coach John Fox nor team president John Elway drafted Tebow? File that in the back of your mind for the future because, at this rate, the Tebow topic isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

"Right now we're in the process of finding who the quarterback is," Fox said Monday of his quarterbacking situation. "And I'll leave it at that."

That said, one member of the Broncos media seems to be leading the charge against Tebow.

"[Tim] Tebow played as ineptly as any sorry excuse for a pro quarterback possibly could," writes Mike Kiszla of the Denver Post. "He was laughably bad."

Clearly Kiszla felt that comment needed reinforcement because well, you'll see.

"Those five wonderful minutes against Miami now look like an aberration. Right here, right now, he is the worst quarterback in the NFL."

At this rate, the Tebow bandwagon might not have many riders moving forward.

Tebow has done nothing in 120 minutes of football to show anyone he is capable of playing quarterback in the NFL. As long as his play hovers at mediocrity, Elway and Fox win.

Now this is only a theory, but it would seem to me that because neither of the Johns see Tebow as a franchise quarterback, the only conceivable reason to play him in the first place was in hopes that he fails for everyone to see—even if it meant losing games in the process. Why else would they have traded Brandon Lloyd, who was the NFL's leading receiver in 2010, for just a sixth round draft pick?

Again, Fox and Elway win. They may not be racking up wins now, but they are one step closer to "LWT," Life Without Tebow.

Look, Elway and Fox have a plan for the future of this team and Tebow is the only thing standing in the way. In a way, the Broncos have gone into the tank in an effort to get Tebow out the door faster than he came in.

This is a very, very sneaky move—any way you look at it. Though, if there was ever a guy who could get away with this in Denver, it's Elway.

At the end of the day, the fans in Denver will side with Elway, no matter how much they love Tebow or hate losing games. Elway could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves, if it somehow resulted in a return to the glory days.

i'm tired of having some of my favorite players go into the corporate world and becoming an impersonation of a devil himself. what the **** is wrong with John Elway?! i hope he chokes on a bone at his thanksgiving dinner... and that his son will receive the same treatment from someone as Tebow did.

Well, if both of your QBs are not producing, maybe it has something to do with the coaching staff and/or offensive philosophy, and not just at the QB position? After all, both of these QBs were great college players and have produced well in the past in the NFL, under different coaches.

I know McDaniels is vilified on this site, and justifiably so for his treatment of Hillis, however, he and his coaches tweaked the offense and gave Tebow the freedom to fully utilize his unique talents with positive results.

Tebow is being used as a scapegoat for the poor decision-making, philosophies, and ineptness of John Fox (especially) and John Elway. It doesn't matter which of them (Orton or Tebow) is starting or playing because their offensive woes go far beyond either of them.

I think all the criticism Tebow has faced has as much to do with race as it does religion, Reggie White never faced this much criticism, and many praised Sandy Koufax for sitting out game 1 because it fell on Yom Kipper.

There was a mention by one of the ESPN insiders (Schefter/Mortensen), that according to Elway, Tebow is basically week-to-week in terms of being the starting QB. All I have to say is f*** Elway for his non-committal and wishy washy attitude towards Tebow (along with all the other white ex-players who like to throw their own under the bus).

I agree. There is a large group that hate him for his faith. Equally, there is the BSPN crowd that hates him because he is a threat to them. They have been waiting 10 years for the mobile quarterback to take the NFL by storm and win championships. It has yet to happen, and they are not about to let "Whitey" come along and do it.

Yes, the story will be that Tebow only completed 2 passes, and they will show his one ugly incompletion over and over again. They won't criticize or question Fox for only attempting 8 passes the entire game, or calling low percentage long bombs on half of those.

In all other discussions of how to judge QBs, "winning" is the only thing that ultimately matters. Except for Tebow, whom the media hates with a passion. Thus, they simply change their own standards.
