olivier giroud, a real french foward, scored in the first match of his team
http://rutube.ru/tracks/4700571.html?v=ef5f93613810d77ade3159a373645bd9
(the second goal)

ans also in the second
http://rutube.ru/tracks/4722108.html?v=322b896e14b3a1e22056a72b194ce0d9

2 goals in two matches
i always liked him because he comes from the same place as me

he has an intersting story
as you know, i am from grenoble, and giroud too
he played in the local club, GF38, wich was in 3rd division at that time
and GF38 didn't see the talent he had
a few years after that, giroud became top scorer in 2nd division, and now he plays in first division (and he has the talent to be france's foward in the national team)

it's funny because today, GF38 doesn't exist, 2 years after playing in first division
they palced last of the first division (only one defeat from beating the legendary record of defeats in a row by manchester united)
and next year, last of the second division
and the club was closed the same year because of financial problems
so there is a justice

giroud qualified montpellier for the next stage of the french cup, scoring a goal

then he scored the two goals of his team in today's match

so he scored 4 goals as of now in 6 matches in ligue 1: he is the second top-scorer of the league so far
let's see if he can make it to the french national team
way to go giroud! :boxing:

a little video a friend made about the best goal scorer in the world: maxi lopez

he was bought by barcelona because of his great performances with river plate
but after scoring an incredible goal for his first match with barcelona in champions league (against chelsea), something happened with him (behind the scenes) and he almost never played again

then barcelona sold him to the 4th club of moscow

after that, he did go to brazil to get "back in the game" and he impressed at gremio

so maxi lopez was offered a chance at catania thanks to mihailovic, who was then the coach or president

he scored an incredible number of goals with catania (esp. considering catania is a VERY bad team) : he scored 11 goals in 17 matchs for his first season, and allowed catania to maintain in serie A (he came in the middle of the season)

he is of italian descent, and i think he is of catalan origin also

i hope he can score a lot of goals this season (it won't be easy)

in this video you can see his reaction when a journalist told him that a player from the other team was going to tell the police that maxi called him "macaco", or ape (in brazil a player can be arrested at the end of the match for this)
"tranquilo, tranquilo "

great! he scored his first goal

giroud scored again
he admitted his goal was lucky, as his right foot is not as precise as his left foot

he scored 8 goals in 11 matches (!) so far
he is the top scorer of the french ligue 1
plus 2 goals in 2 matches in french cup

he said he wanted to be part of the french national team for the euro 2012
http://www.topmercato.com/38466,1/montpellier-giroud-reve-de-l-euro-2012.html

incredible for a player who played in second division 2 years ago!
once again a wasted white talent in france...

and 6th goal of the season for german denis
http://rutube.ru/tracks/4960555.html?v=bd44f1576ed8e7edd4e2ef821d23ebf8&autoStart=true&bmstart=1000

so far, in italy, england, spain, france, holland, belgium , germany, the top goal scorers are whites
only in portugal, cardozo (indian) is top goal scorer, but kleber is close and would have scored more without his injury
and having a white top goal scorer in france is a miracle, considering how few white fowards we have

Olivier Giroud has impressed me a lot, he really deserves his chance with the national team!

Belgian star Dries Mertens is currently topping the scoring charts in the Dutch Eredivisie (Mertens has so far netted 11 goals in just 11 games and he is technically a midfielder rather than a forward). He is only 1.65 m tall and has an amazing knack of getting into goalscoring positions.

Zenit footballer and Russian international Aleksandr Kerzhakov is one of the leading scorers in the Russian Premier League. Kerzhakov always gives his best for the team (he is not afraid to challenge goalkeepers for loose balls) and has some memorable goal celebrations.

laurent "blanc" is really a disgusting individual....
http://www.leparisien.fr/montpellie...r-giroud-a-montpellier-30-10-2011-1695003.php

in this article, they say laurent "blanc" wanted to meet giroud
it was a good thing, because it means laurent "blanc" might choose him for the next friendly matches (including the one against USA)
but it was also to apologize for what laurent "blanc" said about giroud
he said "some players are regular starters for a short time in ligue 1 (french first division) they played well for 2 or 3 matches and they say they wait for the coach to call them (to call them in the national team)"
after this, the reporter asked him if he was talking about olivier giroud, and laurent "blanc" asked : "for example....they can wait for me to call them all the time they want....just kidding"

and this coach called gomis a month ago saying that it was obvious that they had to call him because of his great start...but giroud scored more, and his club is the only one that follows paris saint germain's rythm....

what giroud did is incredible....
he was the top scorer in french second division 2 years ago
then went to club in first division, scored 12 goals (not bad without being a starter, more than gomis the same year) and now he scores more than anybody in french first division

so finally laurent "blanc" apologized to giroud...but it is a lot more difficult to be a white player than a black player in france, it is obvious

russia could have an impressive team, but they seem to have problems with their mentality
for example, i saw archavine against marseille with arsenal
it looks like he lost interest in soccer
it's a shame, because i loved this player, when he played in zenith st petersbourg
what happened to him?
same problem with pavlyuchenko, he no longer plays with his club
pogrebnyak also has trouble in stuttgart

maybe they can come at the euro 2012 eager to prove they are not finished

i'd like to add Bundesliga's Polish striker, Robert Lewandowski, Borussia. Only 23 years old, already becoming a big star with Liverpool and Chelsea checking him out (i hope he doesn't go to Chelsea, they stockpile forwards!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz6l7V8Ex9s

between Poland (3) and Borussia (11) he has 14 goals in 20 games this season

I agree that mental lapses could sometimes be an issue...I remember the Euro 2008 qualifier between Russian and Andorra. The Russians needed a win against the minnow in order to qualify and the game eventually finished 1:0 in their favour, but the Eastern Europeans almost self-sabotaged and there was a nervy end to the game after Arshavin was sent off (subsequently he was banned for the first two group stage matches, but came back strong and was very influential in the 1/4 final against the Netherlands).
I think that Arshavin was initially very eager to prove himself (he has already cemented his place in the history books with his four goals against Liverpool), but the turmoil which beset Arsenal (the string of bad results and the constant player rotations) must have affected his confidence. I get the impression that he is the type of player who needs to play every game (preferably as a starter), otherwise he is usually not that effective. Also, he is usually tightly marked by defenders (and they are now better able to anticipate his moves, as Arshavin is no longer an unknown quantity in the Premier League). His partnership with Bendtner was also promising, but the Dane is now a Sunderland player.
Pavlyuchenko has actually done quite well in his few appearances (he always poses an attacking threat and his goals per minutes played ratio is not too shabby), so I am not worried (he will be in top shape for the Euros). I would say that he is not among the Tottenham coach's favourites (one also has to take into account that the club is loaded with strikers - Defoe, Adebayor, Gio dos Santos, etc. and the coach prefers to stack the midfield) and definitely deserves more playing time. Pavlyuchenko is a very unconventional player and often scores beautiful goals.
As for Pogrebnyak - he is still adjusting to the Bundesliga and is usually an understudy to Cacau, but I am sure that he will come good. He used to be better than Pavlyuchenko, but is no longer very clinical in front of goal.

I really like the Russian team and I could definitely see them going far at Euro 2012. Akinfeev is one of the best goalkeepers in Europe and possesses amazing reflexes (he is currently injured, but should be able to recover in time for the competition), the Russian defenders are quite solid and there are also a number of interesting players in midfield (Denisov and Dzagoev are footballers who are very capable of unlocking defenses).
Russia has rarely had rub of green when it comes to refereeing decisions (i.e. Ovchinnikov was harshly sent off at Euro 2004, Kerzhakov received an unfortunate red card in a 2009 World Cup playoff match against Slovenia), but I hope that things will be different this time.

@backrow, good call on Lewandowski, he is likely to be a starter for Poland and can deliver the goods (even against the top teams like Germany).

thanks for the infos giles
we have to keep an eye on these players as the euro 2012 could be totally dominated by eastern european teams, considering that teams like france and england aren't currently in good shape

my video about giroud (http://rutube.ru/tracks/4967180.html?v=6688c0f93f4083f3a799b400723e157a) has been posted by the website of the most famous radio show in france about soccer, with the question : "what future for giroud? the french national team?"
and the answers were really positive
the consensus is that giroud should play in place of gomis, and that he is one of the most talented strikers in france

some guys stated the obvious saying "if he were black, he would have been in the national team a year ago"

ah, i remember one year ago when i was literally trolling them about olivier giroud, while he wasn't a regular starter in a bad club in ligue 1
so many posters thought he was going nowhere
now they agree with me, lol

(for example at the bottom of this page http://www.rmc.fr/blogs/afterfoot.php?post/2010/12/29/Vos-insolites-2010-
comments by "giroud golazo" , "diego forlan" or "olivier giroud" in caps lock mode )

Rumours are Maxi is being acquired by AC Milan. What a great player.
I just looked him up on the transfermarkt.de website which has the valuations for all the players and he is valued at 5.5M Euros, while a Drogba or an Adebayor are valued at 17M!! This is a crazy world.

and forlan was even cheaper lol
did you know him?
i am a fan since river plate
i have a river plate jersey with his name on
i love him even more than forlan
if this transfert happens, it will make me REALLY happy lol

i already said it, for me he is the best striker in the world

i din't mentionned it, but he scored his second goal of the season
but i din't said it because sadly, he doesn't play a lot in catania, because he said he wanted to go to another club, so they make him pay for that

maxi is the dominant white striker at it's best

On the Milan front it is worth mentioning that Filippo Inzaghi has been pronounced "match fit" after a year out due to a cruciate ligament injury. OK, he's 38 years old but still...He's under contract with Milan until the end of this season. I'm not sure he'll see much action though as Pato returns next week.

Since this is a thread about goal scorers Inzaghi is only 3 goals behind Raul in the top all-time European competition goal scorers. He's also just a few goals away from becoming the 5th highest scorer in Milan's history.

Of course I know him, I follow Serie A. Great player, similar to Forlan in many ways (even looks a bit like Forlan).
Catania is waay to weak a team for him. A striker like that needs a decent support system (people who can pass the ball, cross etc.). Look at Messi playing for Barcellona (where the whole team plays for him) or for Argentina (where he is considered an outsider, not even a "real" Argentinian as he was out of the country since age 12).
Day and night!
Maxi does not have that in Catania. That's why he wants to go to another team (the other team being AC Milan). Let's hope the deal goes through. He might "explode" in Milan.
Forlan is valued at 8M euros.

exactly
catania is a very frustrating team to follow
the only cool thing is that they boo black players

about inzaghi, not sure if he will play
in champions league, he is not in the roster, that means that he will only be able to play in the second phase, like forlan, in february i think
but considering his playing style, i think he could be almost as efficient as he was before the injury, since he relies mostly on skill and flair
milan AC also has excellent medical staff, if you know what i mean....

about old goal scorers, crespo stated recently that he was too old for serie A, his career is over
(he scored a few goals for parma last year)

(ok about forlan, his value is 8M taking in consideration the years of contract he has, while he had fewer years remaining when he was bought by inter, that's why he only cost 5 millions)

also, the coming back of pato won't hurt inzaghi, because pato is mainly a winger, although considering his talent, they try to force him to play as a striker
and if inzaghi plays, i think he will play the last 10-20 minutes of a match

Milan is looking for a replacement for Cassano who underwent heart surgery and will be out probably for the rest of the season. So for now they are looking for a player on loan if possible. But if Maxi proves himself and the supporters like him, he could do great.
Let's wait and see. Other players that are mentioned for that position are Borriello from Roma and even Drogba or Anelka:icon_rolleyes:.

a video i made about maxi lopez
showing why he is the best striker

i put a lot of footage from river plate in it, because i was surprised to find very few footage of him at river plate on youtube, since he did tremendous things there (he wasn't bought by barcelona for no reason)
