i have to watch martinique play :icon_lol:
They beat Canada 1-0.
Also, next to Freddy Adu Canadian captain Julian de Guzman (ex-Deportivo La Coruna) has to be the most overrated player in North American soccer history.

I'm glad to see Holden scored too!! Wondolowski had a hat trick today in the first half!! That should shut some of his haters up today. It's been awesome to see some white attackers for the USA this tournament. BTW, I'm sure Torres is nearly all-white or close: his nickname over on big soccer forums is: Gringo. I also count Bedoya as white as well. Milan, when you were saying Mexican, I'm assuming you were refering to Orozco, Corona, and Rimando right? With of course Beckerman undeservedly starting too.
Beckerman sucks so dang bad, there's no way any competitive national team would ever want to call him up. Holden needs to start against the good competition for sure. This team should have 8 whites starting hopefully, by our next game Saturday against Cuba. Corona sucks, and Shea or Bedoya could take his place, Wondo's proved that he's the No.1 striker over Herculez Gomez now I'd hope. Diskerud and Holden should have a grip on the two midfield spots. Of course, Donovan's spot is safe.
If you guys have any time at all, the USA will be playing Cuba on FOX Saturday. If you want to see a very white(and good) USA team in action, now is the time. After tonight's results, there should be 8 white starters (hopefully). Parkhurst, Goodson, Holden, Diskerud, Donovan, Torres/Bedoya/Shea(2 out of those 3), and Wondolowski.
"Wondo's proved that he's the No.1 striker over Herculez Gomez now I'd hope."
Is it going to be Altidore and Wondo? What about Dempsey?
" Holden, Diskerud, Donovan, Torres/Bedoya/Shea(" That doesn't include Dempsey. I don't know if Dempsey starts. What about Zusi?
There is also Mike Magee who hasn't even been given a chance.
I hope this is just because the USA is playing against Cuba, but the USA will again have some very questionable players in the lineup against Cuba. There are 5 whites, 5 hispanics, and 1 black. The lone black is our "captain" the very slow and handicapped Oguchi Onyewu, also the ever worthless players Kyle Beckerman, Joe Corona, and Edgar Castillo are in the lineup today as well. If Herculez Gomez is the "2nd best striker" that the USA has, as most DWFs say, "we're" going to be in trouble come 2014.
At least Holden and Shea are starting with Donovan, so maybe we'll be up by a couple at halftime before the rest of the white players (some combo of Bedoya, McInerney, Wondolowski, or Diskerud) come on in the 2nd half and triple the USA lead.
Well, the game ended 4-1, with the Yanks coming out on top. Once again, as Milan said, Klinsmann came out with pretty much the same crappy lineup he did against Belize and Guatemala. The result? A 1-1 game at halftime. And once again, the white impact subs (this match, it was Wondo and Diskerud) came on and completely changed the game. Chris Wondolowski has been on FIRE. His last three games, he's bagged 6 goals, including two today. He's completely out performed Herculez Gomez, who's only scored 1 goal in that span, and Wondo should be pushing him out for that second striker spot on the US "A" team. Donovan looked great again today, as did Mix Diskerud, who's been rapidly playing himself on to the "A" team as well.
The US plays Costa Rica on Tuesday. Being somewhat of an optimist on this, I'm thinking Klinsmann was just experimenting around with these first two games, seeing which players would do good, and which players would not. With Costa Rica being miles ahead of Belize and Cuba, I'm hoping Jurgen's learned from these last two matches and will put the best XI on the field against Costa Rica. But knowing Klinsman, I wouldn't be shocked to see the same crappy, lineup out there again Tuesday night.
My (and I hope Klinsmann's) XI for Tuesday against Los Ticos:
Rimando
Parkhurst Fiscal Goodson Beasley
Holden Diskerud
Torres/Bedoya Shea
Wondolowski Donovan (may slide back behind Wondo)
This would be 8 whites, and is our best chance to win.
I am not sure Shea is going to start. I don't know how good he is.
They finished with the same number of White guys and Brek Shea scored the game winner as a substitution. The US ran a beautiful counter attack and Shea's goal was set up by a great pass from Donovan. Good win against a "real" opponent finally.8 white starters for Team USA tonight against Costa Rica! Parkhurst, Goodson, Holden, Diskerud, Bedoya, Donovan, Torres, and Wondolowski! This has to be Klinsmann's whitest lineup ever for the United States.
Klinsmann was quoted this week saying that "at least three players" from this team should make the World Cup squad. Holden and Donovan seem like safe bets and could both wind up starting. Wondolowski, Diskerud, and Goodson/Parkhurst should be in the mix for bench spots (DaMarcus Beasley is also).
Klinsmann swapped out four players for these knockout games. Jack McInerny was sent home after logging zero minutes and can kiss his Brazil hopes goodbye. He started for Philly yesterday but did not score a "screw you" goal. Besler, the only new call-up to start today, seems to be in the coach's good graces.
Also, I noticed something about Johnson's goal: he was totally unmarked running through the defense. The DWFs criticize Wondo for scoring unmarked goals, but yet when Johnson does the same thing once in the game, he's instantly much better than Wondo? Although to be fair, Johnson has a bit more speed than Wondo, but Johnson is black and the US Fans hate Wondo, and that won't work out well for him.
