"A lot of the Hispanics (like Joe Corona and Herculez Gomez) have dual nationalities, and if they aren't good enough to get a call up from Mexico, why the hell would we call them up then? It's not like Mexico's B or C team would be able to beat their A team..."
Also, It's not like Mexico is as good as Spain.
There was one player who was born in the US to one parent who was from El Salvador and one from Honduras. I think those are the two countries. He could then represent 3 different countries. I wonder if his parents were even legally in the US. This is how silly national teams are getting.
I am also against birthright citizenship even if the parents are in the country legally like the Icelandic player.
I am against it too. Someone mentioned this earlier in the thread; since Johannsonn signed on, now the jock sniffers, Gulati and co. have a Nordic mascot to justify swaying all of these second rate Mexicans and "Germans" to play for the team. Europe, I know you mentioned that none of the other great footballing countries really do this. Do you see Argentina trying to sway some half Argentine from Europe to play for them? What about Brazil? Or Italy? Or Germany(besides their Turks, but at least Ozil was born there)? Hell, even nations that suck at football, like Jamaica, didn't even think of calling up GK Sean Johnson, which should show you how much he sucks.
What we said about us being Mexico's "B" team, you could say that we would also be Germany's "C+, B-" team. We got a bunch of really average players like Jones and Williams. I don't know why Americans are so happy their "countrymen" (who NEVER even set foot on this side of the planet prior to playing for the USMNT) decided to play over here. They don't give a sh*t about the USA, or Germany for that matter. It's simple, these losers were never going to be good enough to play for Germany, so they all come over to the US to play. I believe Jones was the only one who was even called up to Germany for a couple friendlies. So DWFs call these guys "Americans" and are happy they decided to play for "us" over Germany? Something tells me some of these loser DWFs think that if they decided to try and play for Germany, they would be fixtures in their national team too, over the likes of Klose, Schweinsteiger, Lahm, etc. No DWFs, they're playing for the USA, because they never would've had a chance in hell to represent Germany.
Let's recap some "our" immigrant players.
"Germany"- Jones, Williams, Brooks, Chandler, Johnson, and Boyd (with undoubted more of those ugly mulattoes on the way over here.)
Mexico- Gomez, Corona, Orozco-Fiscal, Edgar Castillo, Omar Gonzalez, Jose Torres(white), and undoubted many more that I've missed in my brief overview.
West Africa- Bill Hamid(Sierra Leone), Onyewu(Nigeria), Joe Gyau(Nigeria), Maurice Edu(Nigeria)
Jamaican- Sean Johnson
Colombia- Juan Agudelo
So basically, if we fielded a team of immigrants, it would be a combination of a great footballing country's "C+" team, and a bunch of really average to crappy nation's "B" teams. Let that sink in for a minute. Like I mentioned in my first post, why don't we use those resources to get great American players from our Colleges and Academies in the MLS? Nah, that would be counterproductive, and would undermine all of Gulati's diversity efforts, as it would make the team 90% white, and very good. Gulati wouldn't want that, would he?
