If this situation isn't "fixed," then please provide an intelligent explanation. An NFL franchise, supposedly devoted to winning at all costs, and to putting the best product on the field, spends a high draft pick on the best college running back, when they already have a still young starter who is acclaimed as the best in the league.

So, the pick made no sense to begin with. Teams expect 2nd round draft choices to become starters. However, much as the Rams spent a high pick on Brian Leonard and the Chargers spent one on Hester, with neither EVER given a chance to start (or even really play much), the Vikings purposefully wasted a 2nd rounder on Gerhart, with no intent on ever giving him a chance to start.

That being said, I really thought the Vikings would at least throw Gerhart a few bones, then pounce on his first mistake as a reason to convert him to FB or just ignore him. However, obviously that isn't going to be the case.

First, the team announcss that AP will betting more touches, not less, now that the immortal Chester Taylor is gone. I thought the cover story/excuse for a team like the Vikings drafting Gerhart was that he would be able to spell AP and keep him fresh. Then, elephantine afflete Williams tries to injure him, and ridicules him afterwards Now Toby finds himself battling with someone who has no business being near an NFL roster for crumbs.

Can you imagine what an acclaimed, award winning black RB would do in a similar situation? Well, of course such a situation would never occur if the 2nd round pick was black. No team would "diss" a brother like that. And the obscenely obese turd Williams would never have attempted to injure him in practice.

If Gerhart isn't given a chance to run the ball in the NFL, we need to face reality and accept that, as long as the Caste System remains, no white running backs will be permitted.

It's ridiculous how some of these scouting websites rated Toby before the draft. Several were fair and stated he was the most athletic big back in the draft. Others automatically called him an H-back type solely because of his skin color. Now Albert Young is giving him competition? What a joke!

Its purely race politics. I think everyone in America knows at least sub-consciously that we have a tiger by the tail and the tiger is hungry and mad. Let us assume that the hits Toby took in a minimum contact drill were because of racial discord eminating from the barely socialized and potentially psychopath Africans on the team upset at the Vike's white management drafting a white man in the second round to challenge AP.

All the American establishment has done over the last 6 decades is to create millions of low IQ pathologically deviant black men whose only socialization is to be the radical's vanguard of terror, even that one black sports reporter realizes what has happened. So disabuse one's self as to athletic quals being the most important in today's NFL. We now have the Omar Thorton league disguised as a competition for Lombardi's trophy.

To challenge AP? I highly doubt he will even be given that opportunity. There even saying he may be 3rd on the depth chart.

NFL teams drafting 10 defensive tackles and 10 defensive ends justin the first two rounds, every last one of them black, shows to me not a "fix," but rather how committed the league is to extremist affirmative action policies. I'll be surprised if more than 2 of these 20 players (10%) become genuine stars. Same with most of the black sumo tackles and guards the league now drafts early year after year. Then look at all the outstanding White WRs there were this year; if they were black they all would have been drafted earlier and Decker, Shipley and Cooper all would have been first round picks.

Compare the treatment of Ben Roethlisberger and Matt Jones to the way the endless stream of hard-core black criminals are treated (and often celebrated), and the many other gaping double standards between the opportunities afforded Whites and blacks. It's a fix in a general sense against White players, but because all teams play by the same rules when it comes to race, it's also not fixed. And of course thesystem starts in college and even before that going downto the youth leagues where racial slotting often begins (along with the requisite jokes mocking the speed and athleticism of white kids).

Barring injuries to Adrian Peterson and whoever else,Gerhart will get screwed over in a major way, as have all White running backs for the past 40 years. And whenGerhart plays he'll have a bullseye on his knees as far as some defensive players are concerned. The league is rotten to its anti-White core, but what institution isn't these days in the U.S.?

Don, of course I agree with everything you said. The drafting of sumos so high is Caste Sytem 101, just as giving unlimited chances to them (and every other black player selected high in the draft) is. My point was that these teams have now drafted the only three white RBs to be primary ball carriers at major colleges in recent years, in a high round, only to refuse to EVER allow them a chance to start. That goes against the SOP of all NFL franchises.

Before Leonard, Hester and Gerhart, they simply ignored Luke Staley (7th round, then injured and never given a chance). While that's certainly worse, how much better do the other three have it, really? If I was the owner of any of those fanchises, I'd be pressuring the coaching staff to put these high priced commodities on the field and see what they do. Neither Leonard or Hester has been significantly injured, so as an owner I'd be demanding they play. As for Gerhart, I'd be screaming at my head coach- "What the hell are you doing here? That rookie better be out there at least as much as Taylor was- I'm paying him way too much money to be on the sidelines!"

Gerhart has supposedly looked good. He signed on time, after a knee jerk, very early burst of impatence from Childress, who was quoted as saying, "he needs to get his tail in here." He has no injury. There is no logical reason for the coaching staff to give this unknown black derelict any opportunity at all to be in the mix for playing time. They have a much higher paid, well known rookie, who has impressed everyone so far, who should be handed that role without any questions.

That's why I believe these things are orchestrated. Of course, the reason behind this is race politics. But there still has to be an agreement by these supposedly competitive franchises, whereby they essentially throw away a valuable high draft pick, and pay these white guys a lot of money to not play.

There's no question that San Diego and Houston would have been ideal landing spots for Gerhart given their needs and his skill set. Unfortunately DWF Nation believes all the media lies and jokes about White athletes. If Gerhart had run just a slightly slower 40 at the Combine he wouldn't even be in contention to be a backup running back, he'd be some team's fullback, this year's version of Peyton Hillis and Jacob Hester.

J. B. Cash covered some of the racial dynamics involved at the verboten (for Whites)RB position in one of his recent columns. No individual coach or team is going to buck the status quo too far because it's a lose-lose situation in a country where Whites are being systematically marginalized in every sphere of life and where Whites as a race can't even be acknowledged except in negative ways. As Cash pointed out and as is obvious with Gerhart, black players don't want White running backs, even their own putative "teammates."

I don't think any kind of overt agreement is necessary; those who work within the system today know the ironclad rules when it comes to race, including the one that deviating from them results in instant and usually permanent punishment and disgrace.Edited by: Don Wassall

A while back, ColdHardFootballFacts.com had an article about how many top draft choices flop. Since prospects are put through far more extensive pre-draft drills, and are presumably scouted more thoroughly than in the past, CHFF wondered why there are so many flops. They mentioned the large number of DLs taken in the first two rounds who fail.

I agree with the main theme of this post for sure and most of the detailed points. I look at it in a slightly more moderate light though. Even if only 10% of the blacks on the team (good chance it could be a bit higher though in today's league) REALLY don't want white RBs b/c it takes away from the NFL house of cards that black RBs are more talented and "bruthas" should be paid better (an AA lie benefiting blacks) that could REALLY affect team chemistry. Five/Seven blacks angrily speaking out and trying to get their teammates behind them and guys like Williams being rough with Gerhart can really affect team chemistry.

The fact that Leonard, Hester and Gerhart all went to teams with top of the pack black RBs already being featured, just says to me that these teams thought it would be a "safer" (less threatening to blacks) place to groom a white back for the future. Peterson is a top three RB in the league who regressed a bit last season and the Minnesota o-line is great at run blocking. Peterson seems like a decent guy and I believe the Vikings think he will slowly learn to get along with Gerhart (Gerhart's a likable guy), so long as Peterson's play on the field is really looking good and he knows Gerhart won't be getting more than the third of the carries.

If Gerhart "accepts" this racial apprenticeship and gets along well with Peterson and performs great behind a great run blocking o-line (basically everything going well at first) and Peterson gets hurt or starts really hurting the team with fumbles further into the future, some media and fans may pressure for Gerhart's role to increase and basically all the team's blacks may be o.k with it in the name of winning and not hurting their popularity by exposing themselves as being hardcore unfair racists. Eventually Peterson may leave and Gerhart could become the new Wes Welker, who is so respected that he will one day be "safe" to be a starting NFL skill player at a taboo position. This is over explaining b/c basically everything will have to go close to perfect.

BTW, it's easier to play a white tailback in college because those teams (other than the example of Hester with LSU) are usually whiter. It's obviously easier for the coach to feel comfortable with playing a white tailback if he fits in better racially. Why don't the fans see that white skill players are starting to gravitate and feel comfortable with whiter teams? Their leash is longer for mistakes and the fans are more used to whites succeeding at whiter schools and aren't as drunk. YOU CAN TAKE THIS ARGUMENT ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON, RIGHT OUT OF A SOCIOLOGY TEXT BOOK, BUT MOST DWFS SIMPLY AREN'T SMART ENOUGH TO GET IT.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

The irony of the situation is that the Vikings no longer have Chester Taylor. Now all of a sudden Albert Young is giving Gerhart competition? You couldn't write a better script.

I think we are looking for a talking point? I think it could be, "The black racists and their enablers are ruining the NFL." As for Welker being respected, I would guess he is one of the most hated, even on his team.

Albert Young, what an "illustrious"Â￾ career he had at Iowa. "Mr. Big Ten - Honorable Mention,"Â￾ how impressive to evaluate against the accomplishments of the double-athlete / All-American / Heisman runner-up, Toby Gerhart.

"White All-American"Â￾ vs. "Black Honorable Mention."Â￾ This contrived "situation"Â￾ is a mirror image of corporate America's affirmative action hiring policies.

Honestly, I wish the very worst for this illegitimate "league."Â￾ And yes, I do "hope"Â￾ that Adrian Peterson (and all other blacks playing ahead of whites on every roster) is injured this season. Unfortunately, this is what we've been reduced to.Edited by: Thrashen

I was just looking at some depth charts for this upcoming season and Minnesota is probably the second worst team that Gerhart could have landed on. The only worse place is the Titans because of Chris Johnson. In a fair league Gerhart would be a starter on most teams in the league. Just imagine if he ended up on a team like Philly or Arizona without the caste system. He would easily beat out Lesean Mccoy and Beanie Wells.

Without the Caste System he'd be the presumedstarter anywhere. But McCoy and Wells arejust in their second season; Gerhart would be screwed on those two teams more than most. The two teams where he would have been the logical starter, even to the DWFs, were Houston and San Diego and they both passed on him. He's a "hot potato" that no team wanted to deal with after he couldn't be pigeonholed as a fullback after what he did at the Combine.

In my opinion Gerhart is so good he would start for any team except the Titans or Vikings. The only reason he wouldn't start for those two teams is that they have the two best running backs in the league. Any other team he could be a starter. I'd hate it if he ended up in San Diego though with the treatment of Jacob Hester it wouldn't be a good situation for him.

I posted the list in a previous post of recent Doak Walker Award Winners. All of those guys were given opportunities to play. I'm not sure about Chris Perry as we he probably just another bust. It will be interesting to see how long before Gerhart gets his chance to shine.

You might add the Ravens with Ray Rice as a place where Gerhart would have to play second fiddle for a while if black. I think Toby may wind up the better runner than Rice, but Rice is a phenom receiver and is coming off a great season where he earned respect. Can't think of any other teams off the top of my head where he'd have to serve an apprenticeship. Even in Jacksonville or Carolina, he'd wind up splitting carries with smaller backs MJD or DeAngelo Williams quickly if black. If on the Rams, they'd start phasing out Jackson in the next couple years for Gerhart to take over as the starter and Gerhart would still probably take at least 1/3 of the carries from the aging Jackson this season.

Yes, but WA33 wrote "without the Caste System." Without the Caste System, Minnesota, Tennessee, Baltimore, Carolina andsome other teamswouldn't have drafted Gerhart as they didn't need a starting running back. But without the Caste System, any team that did draft him would have done so for him to be the starter. Edited by: Don Wassall

Vikings offense trying to get on same page
By Jim Souhan
McClatchy News Services

MANKATO, Minn. â€" Toby Gerhart spends more time on the ground than mulch. The Vikings' rookie running back keeps smacking into the Williams Wall, then doing the Gerhart Crawl, after getting blasted by a defense treating him to a purple haze. Tormenting the Stanford kid is a Minnesota sports tradition that dates back to Twins manager Tom Kelly's dismissal of top draft pick David McCarty. "Stanford, boola, boola, boola," Kelly said, and McCarty might as well have started packing right then.

Watching Gerhart somersault backward after hitting the defensive line might be more amusing if it didn't symbolize the Vikings' offense during this training camp, otherwise known as Brett Favre's $20 million negotiating window.

Gerhart, who is supposed to replace Chester Taylor as the backup running back, has often looked slow and timid, which has led the Vikings' veteran defenders to treat him like a tetherball.

OCB â€" Ol' Crazy Brett â€" has become nothing more than a holdout intent on making $20 million this season and reporting to the Vikings on his own timetable. (My best guess has been Aug. 23 all along.)

Sidney Rice remains sidelined with a hip injury that has lingered mysteriously. Mysteriously, because he is the most underpaid player on the team.

Adrian Peterson, following a season in which his fumbling became the major impediment to an otherwise efficient offense, skipped all but four days of the Vikings' offseason workouts and now is slowed by tightness in his left leg. As with Rice, we can wonder if Peterson's newly developed reluctance has anything to do with money.

Percy Harvin has missed seven days of practice following the death of his grandmother.

Center John Sullivan has missed time with a calf injury.

In summary: The Vikings' four best skill players have missed important practice time, Favre's return is not yet imminent, and opening night is a month away.

We should remember that what transformed the Vikings into Super Bowl contenders last year was the precision of their passing offense, and the mutual intuition Favre developed with Rice and Harvin.

Last year, Favre reported before the Vikings' second preseason game, giving him three game weeks to prepare for the season. Then the Vikings opened against Cleveland and Detroit, giving Favre two more weeks of practice.

This year, Favre is unlikely to report before Aug. 23, giving him two game weeks to prepare for a season that will begin in the din of the Superdome against a defense that eight months ago pounded him into the turf.

If the Vikings' offense remains explosive in New Orleans despite all of the negative developments in this camp, it will be a testament to Favre's quarterbacking genius, the skill of the Vikings' coaching staff and the irrelevance of training camp.

If the Vikings' offense misfires on Sept. 9, we will be left to wonder whether Favre's holdout â€" and lengthy absences from camp by other skill position players â€" will have made this season more difficult than it needs to be.

Saturday morning, the Vikings worked on physical running situations, and Gerhart took another beating.

"You try to deliver (hits) more than you take them," he said. "But the 'backers are running through. Everybody is just hitting it. Yeah, you took your fair share of shots, that's for sure.

"It's good work for me and the offensive line. Iron sharpens iron. When you go out and compete against one of the best defenses every single day, you know what to expect and hopefully the games are a little easier."

Childress has noticed his defenders gleefully pounding Gerhart. "Some guys may be doing the knocking down just for good measure â€" just because," Childress said. "He's got to learn a lot of things about tempo. . . . The great thing is, he gets knocked down, but he gets right back up."

Then again, "Gets up quickly after getting knocked down" is not the kind of testimonial you find on Hall of Fame plaques.

"Slow and timid" geez the white sportwriters can really tee off when it's a white guy they're ripping. I have never, ever read that description of a high draft RB (black version), they always throw in some qualifier to give the rookie the benefit of the doubt. Not now. Good luck to Gerhart, I hope he makes the team.

I wouldn't doubt that they are hitting Gerhart extra hard as it's their way off keeping whitey down. Don't be suprised if he gets injured by one of his teammates. White running backs need not apply in this league. Too much jealousy as most players don't want things to change.

Every play is telegraphed, boils down to basically everybody hit the white guy with the ball. I mean really you think AP's peeps on the O are not tipping off the D if its not already telegraphed by the coaching staff?

Yeah "gleefully" and "just because" he is White. Childress didn't finish his thought, so I finished it for him.

Disturbing article. It hints at the lack of a passing game being a cause but doesn't even mention the name Tarvaris Jackson. Just several paragraphs about "slow and timid" Toby doing the "Gerhart crawl" after being obliterated by Pat Williams. WTF??? As with the Matt Jones reports: I'll believe it when I see it. When the Vikings have a televised preseason game I guarantee Toby won't look timid or slow and he will be delivering punishment. These training camp pundits can write anything they want because we can't see the tape.
