The local am radio sports talkers my Dad listens to have been making a big deal about Tebow. Saying that him not going in the game flies in the face of everything he stands for, and even calling him a fake Christian.

I was sure of it as I posted above. I cannot see Tebow refusing to go into the game--ever, that's just not him. In fact he is too much of a team player to refuse even if it was deserved. Former Lions offensive tackle Lomas Brown was talking about the good old days on ESPN radio last Friday and he let out a little secret about his relationship with former Lions quarterback Scott Mitchell.


It wasn't a good one.


During a game against the Packers at Lambeau Field on Nov. 6, 1994, Brown had enough of Mitchell's shoddy play and decided to do something about it.


"We were playing Green Bay in Milwaukee … we were getting beat, 24-3, at that time and he just stunk up the place," Brown told ESPN radio. "He's throwing interceptions, just everything. So I looked at Kevin Glover, our All-Pro center and I said, 'Glove, that is it.' I said, 'I'm getting him out the game.'... So I got the gator arms on the guy at the last minute, he got around me, he hit Scott Mitchell, he did something to his finger ... and he came out the game. Dave Krieg came in the game. We ended up losing that game, 27-24."
"As you can tell, I'm just not a big fan of Scott Mitchell. He's just not on my Christmas list."

Wow, but I shouldnt be surprised. I wonder if Scott Mitchell could bring up a lawsuit against this genius? After all he did admit to willfully injuring someone. But if hes anything like other former affletes, hes probably broke.

AC Green who had/has? the ironman streak in the NBA had an article written about him in the late 90's talking about his celibacy while playing in the den of inequity(Los Angles for the Lakers). So, his completion percentage at Denver in 2011 was 46.5 % DESPITE not being called on to throw screen passes. Guess what Terry Bradshaw's first-year completion percentage was- 38% !!!! What an amazing set of stats! Imagine if he was Black. Im amazed that even here on CF there are comments about his lack of throwing ability. That just shows how well propaganda works. People say he can't pass because he completed 46.5% of his passes. It has become increasingly hard to defend him, although I am a staunch supporter. I can give examples of quarterbacks who threw for under 50%; Vick, Mcnabb, Manning, Elway (last two guys won Super Bowls) and that helps a little. But people just tend to discredit whatever he did in college. The consensus is that the Broncos tailored an offense to him, which isn't true. People that watched the games know that. Yeah they ran a read option play out of a shotgun, but their was no variance in the play calling. It was 1st down run, 2nd down run, 3rd and 7 pass. Also it doesn't help that people believe the fallacy that the "best players play", when you have to take into account human error in scouting and stereotypes. That's why the Jets not playing Tim despite Mark Sanchez's struggles looks bad for him and just gives further confirmation to Tebow-haters that he can't play.

He needs to be put in charge of one of those apparently "black only" offenses like those that are run in DC, SF, Seattle, and Carolina. Regardless of where it is, he would be amazing. Yet white QB's aren't "permitted" to do that, they all have to try to emulate Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. How many white, athletic college QB's have been cast(e) aside over the years because they weren't "white pocket passers"? Crouch, Matt Jones, Zabransky, and Scott Frost just to name a few. Had any one of these played quarterback and been given five years to succeed like all black qb's we'd see a thousand yard rusher from the quarterback position just like Vick one season. All of those four mentioned above were faster and better rushers than Tebow, but Tebow is the best passer out of all of them.

The media is trying to sell us the idea that he may play for Arizona next year because he was seen practicing there. Who knows. I wouldn't want to see him go there as Arizona has been absolutely dismal in the passing game for years. The only good receiver is Fitzgerald.

Arizona wouldn't be a bad place for Tebow overall. Rob Housler is a very fast tight end, Michael Floyd was a first round draft pick last year who may or may not develop, and there's Fitzgerald. The long-time problem with that team has been a terrible, sumo-dominated offensive line, and they don't have a running game either now.

It seems to be an ongoing requirement by the Bidwell family that owns the team, that it remain among the blackest in the league every year. So it's not an ideal landing spot for Tebow, but at this point he has to welcome any team that will sign him and give him a chance to at least compete to be the starter.

I was watching some high school footage of him and some 11 on 11 drills, he didn't drop his arm all the way down to make a pass, even deep ones. Watching college footage it seems most of the passes where he brought his arm down low came on deep passes which makes me wonder where it wasn't corrected in college.

I wonder if Chip Kelly would be interested in him, although it would screw over Nick Foles. The question is, now he is with the Eagles, who will he go with at qb? He is probably going to want to run his spread option but there aren't any qbs coming out that would fit that offense. Its pretty similar to what Tebow ran at UF under Urban Meyer
