THE FUTURE OF CASTE FOOTBALL -- IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Just my opinion Don, you're doing a lot for this site, including the current fundraising. It sucks that you'd have to do additional fundraising for the sole sake of saving archived posts. A lot of the archived posts is stuff like weekly posts on 2008 NFL season, 2006 World Cup, etc (no ?)

All the meaningful, current commentary & themes on cultural Marxism, and the caste system would probably be re-created very quickly on a brand new forum (?).. there's never a shortage of examples to critique, and analyze.. Again, just my personal perspective.

In my opinion all of those weekly posts are considerably more important and valuable than any of those Happy Hour threads . Off the top of my head I could probably tell you everything important there is to know about Cultural Marxism or the Caste System in general. But all of those weekly threads are where the meat is. All the knowledge and wisdom in them is what we need to get our points across . If I were to ever write a book on the caste system the first thing I would is read every post ever written on this site . They have to be preserved at all costs. I'd gladly just start a new forum myself with a slightly different domain name as long as we could still preserve the content already here.

As far as I'm concerned the money I sent (from California) is Don's to keep for whatever he finds handy to do with it. Hopefully to repair and improve the site, but maybe something else is fine with me. If he wants he can use it to take a lady of his choice to dinner. I don't want it refunded. I've felt guilty sometimes about being on here so much and not contributing more.

I feel certain that the site has had an impact out of proportion to its size as far as gaining respect for white athletes, whatever its future might be.

Don,

i am just curious if the developers can address and fix the issues created by the hack and delete all of the spam bots on the current site?

I agree that the old posts should be saved to the greatest extent possible. Think of the many thousands of instances over the years in which CF posters notice a white player being racially denigrated my commentators on the field of play or during some “sports commentary†show (NFL Network, ESPN, Fox Sports 1, CBS, NBC, etc).

I couldn’t imagine losing the “Crime Thread,†the “Tiger Woods†thread, “Commercials We Hate,†the “Klitschko†thread, “Ubiquitous Man Hating,†“Movie Reviews,†“Good Music Videos,†the “World Cup†threads, the literally hundreds of weekly NFL football threads, the debates on WWII, the Holohoax, 9-11, Sandy Hook, and so many others.

I’m constantly “debating†people about various political topics and it’s great to send them a link or pull information that I obtained from an old CF thread.

I’ll try to send some money later today.

Don,

They're saying they can, but that's why it will cost so much. And from their end, they don't know how much is involved until they really start looking at all the code and see which is corrupted and which isn't and how easily all the posts can be preserved, which is why I was quoted such a wide price range ($2800 to $4000), with both ends of it being an unexpected "sticker shock."

I think we should keep attempting to raise the money and if we can't then as I said I'll refund everyone's money; if there are some who don't want their donation back that's fine too, but my goal is to get this thing done and preserve our ten years of information and commentary and I think most others feel the same way.

Thanks Don. The historical information is very important for sure. If the money is unable to be raised to migrate the old posts can the funds we have contributed be put towards rebuilding the new forum?

Could a work around be to host a new site such as whiteathlete.com (or whatever name you deem to be the best name) and keep the old site online for reference purposes? Maybe just place a link on the new site to the old site or would the cost to host two sites be to great?

That's the main problem -- the current site has been hacked to the point that thousands and thousands of third world human spammers and spambots have registered via the homepage and created a huge database that makes the site untenable to host on a regular server. When the hosting company first called me, they thought that it was sheer traffic volume to the site that was causing their server to slow down and periodically crash. They wanted to move CF to some specialized server (I can't remember the name of it) but that it would cost over $300 a month to host that way. I told them that legitimate traffic was steady at best and seemed to me to have declined so it had to be related to the endless spammers signing up every day along with the site being used to promote online drugs. When they looked into it a bit they agreed.

So it can't be saved in any form, it's too corrupted by the hack and its accumulated negative effects. We can save the posts but only by having the forum rebuilt.

Oh ok. Pardon my ignorance :icon_redface:

If we can't raise the money to do the full migration are we going to be shut down completely? Even if we lose the historical posts I still think having a brand new forum is better than not having a place to remark on the caste system at all.

edit: disregard I saw your post on the previous page regarding starting over from scratch

I think we should strive toward achieving what's needed to save the posts (and thus save the meat of the site and a decade of exposing the Caste System). Otherwise supporters are less likely to kick in to help. If we can't get there and the site is about to go down (as the host company keeps reminding me) then as a last-ditch option maybe we can start a new forum, but that to me is a disheartening alternative.

Don or anyone else. Is there any way to count how many guys/gals are posting regularly and then divide the amount of money needed by the regular posters or even casual posters? To give everyone an idea of where we are and need to be. Maybe give it a few more days for others to contribute. Then let everyone know how much more is need by averaging what each poster needed to give to meet our goal.

I have already sent in a small contribution, but I might be able to send more based on where we are, and others who contributed may feel the same way.

What do ya'll think?

Thing is, even lurkers can donate. The donations I've listed by state are ones I can't connect with a specific poster so some of them may be from lurkers.

I'd guess there are about 100 regular and semi-regular posters, but some have more to donate than others and some won't donate irregardless of their financial situation. That's an average of about $40 per poster.

Just received $50 from someone in Pennsylvania, could be Thrashen, thanks, that makes the total $875.

OK. Best I can tell, we've had 18 people dontate $875 for an average of $48.61/person. It looks like we could make it if the other 70 or so regular posters would contribute. I'm sure there's others who'll contribute today.

Hopefully more guys will step up. Let's get this done ya'll!

Great to see the site back up and running! I was literally logging on to give some money the day it went offline as i had to setup a paypal account and make sure i had enough money to make a meaningful donation. Thanks for all the hard work Don to sort out the site.

Great to have this place back! So much happened: Super Bowl, Tiger falls apart, and on and on ... I missed this.

It’s a great day! Equal to the Patriots' Super Bowl win! How about that deflate-gate?

Good to see some posters back already after such a long time offline.

To update the past 7 1/2 weeks -- the owner of the Las Vegas company that had been hosting CF promised me the site wouldn't be taken down for a while. In the meantime I was trying to raise money and decide what to do as this guy wanted to charge $4,000 without even looking at it and determining how to fix the hack.

The next day the site was taken offline without any warning to me. After doing that and wanting to charge so much money I decided that there was no way I would deal with this company any more (the sudden takedown of the site seemed almost like financial strong-arming). I located a couple of people to work on it, but the main problem was getting the site transferred over because of the sheer size of it. It would have been easier if the LV company had put CF back online briefly, but they wouldn't do it.

One of the IT guys working on it brought it over very slowly, like in over 500 different pieces, one at a time. From there the other techie finally got it up and working just today.

It's been an agonizingly slow process, but the bottom line is the main goal of preserving the site and all the forum posts has been achieved. :clap2:

If you are still having any problems with the site, let me know as I don't know if all the problems caused by the hack have been fixed yet. For example, seeing the online drug ads, having problems logging in, etc. If you are trying to register but can't, email me at mail@castefootball.us.

Thanks for everyone's patience and perseverance. It is truly a great day for CasteFootball!

Wow, now I how a junkie feels when he goes off the smack cold turkey. That was a tough 7 1/2 weeks.

It's great to be home but I feel like we really got cheated out of enjoying that great Patriots Super Bowl win. After all, we had to suffer through last year's Coal Bowl. Caste Football was a great outlet for us all to vent and I think it helped relieve the "sting" of that Blackhawks win. Now this year we stuck together through a somewhat disappointing regular season and got the result we wanted but were denied the chance to celebrate with our kinfolk. Damn that LV techie and his company!

Well enough on that, just happy to be back online. So much to discuss....where to begin....

What a great day this has turned out to be! God is indeed good. Oh yeah, so are you Don! Thank you for getting CF back!

Yessir AA! A lot of things to talk about! Nowitzki closing in on 28,000 points and 10,000 rebounds. Only a hand full of NBA players have accomplished that feat!

Goran Dragic traded to the Miami Heat

I'm sure Thrashen will want to do a commentary on the latest DQ commercial, etc.

Way to go New England Patriots!
