Here's some comments I made on Youtube defending Sam and his sub-par performance in the nationally televised game.

"5A Texas Football is the toughest classification in the nation. McGuffie was also playing the top team in the state in that game. And the team designed their whole defensive scheme to stop Sam. Plus as I said McGuffie was playing 3/4 game speed b/c of a bum ankle."

"8.7 YPC last year, in the toughest Div. in Texas H.S football is pretty damn good. Don't trust Rivals rankings...they completely suck; trust Tom Lemming."

"Texas produces more division one talent than California.
Cedric Benson (Chicago Bears), Dimitri Nance (Arizona St.) and McGuffie are the only 3 running backs in the last 10 years in the largest classification 5A to rush for over 3,000 yards in a season."

"Sam is a victim of bias. Rivals now has him as the # 5 all purpose RB, 197 overall, even though he is ranked #1 overall in their rankings for best in space and #2 for Home run threat."

"Rivals now has Ryan Bass; Stats: 294-2,351-8.0-36 as the number 1 All purpose RB. He plays worse competition in California and has worse stats and athletic measurables. Rivals just can't stand the fact of a white RB at number 1."

None of them had better than a 10 YPC average (#6 ranked RB). So I don't care what you're saying about Divine having a 14 YPC average in H.S he played worse competition and is an anomoly."

"Out of the top 10 ranked "Athletes" 5 (who played RB in H.S) had their YPC listed. 3 out of the 5 were behind McGuffie in YPC. SO Sam has no weakness in his game; this is utter BS."

your about to puke for what im about to tell you....but i was just watching "HEEB" spn's high school recruiting show, and as usual, the 3 white dork commentators were weting thier pants oggeling (dont know if i spelled that right..lol) all of the big 10's recruits except.......you got it, sam mcguffie, all 3 went out of thier way to express thier doubts over sam mcguffie, about his abilities, saying he is overhyped, and not up to par with the usual "blue chip" running back's that they normally get. I really belive that this was done on purpose. I think thier goal is to put so much pressure on this poor kid that he cracks and fails. Don't kid yourself guys, this is a jewish owned station, and this is NOT an accident. They will stop at nothing to discredit him and diminish his skill set, just like sehorn. Sam's Cy-Fair team knocked off rival Cy-Creek in a major shootout last night, 63-62. Cy-Creek kicked 5 onside kicks and recovered 3 of them, scoring 34 points in the fourth quarter.
Sam carried 16 times for 225 yards and 4 Touchdowns.

I just saw him on the tv show hosted by Pat Summerall, Superstars of Tomorrow. McGuffie looked amazing. He has great agility and speed. I saw he is going to play at Michigan. Like everyone else here, I hope they let him play running back.

Does anyone from Sam's area know how high Notre Dame was/is on his list? Also, why isn't he seriously considering Texas or Oklahoma? I would think that he would excel at one of those dominant schools, he'd run all over the Big 12.

I'm not sure how to take this one. Lloyd Carr is a caste loving bum who ignores most of Michigan's good white talent. I think he probably would have kept his promise to Sam though. Sam's a pretty cocky and talented kid. As I've said before, worst case scenario he gets hosed for a year and transfers somewhere else where he can shine (A&M would be happy to embrace him). Les Miles has been talked about as Carr's replacement. Miles has shown no hesitation in starting a white RB in the SEC but he's also a big fan of running back by committee. Sigh... I hope it works out for Sam, I really want to be able to root for Michigan again. Edited by: jared

Notre Dame was in Sam's top 5 choices, but it was always between Michigan and Texas A&M. His dad is from Michigan and always dreamed of Sam playing there. A&M is only an hour from his home, his high school coach was a former Aggie player, and most of the kids from the Cypress area go off to college there, so A&M was a very close second. Now with Coach Fran going out the door, who knows which school he will choose.

Texas never offered a scholarship. LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech recruited him hard, but didn't make his top 5. Florida and USC were the other schools in his top 5. I think that it could be wide open.

Sam is in an impossible situation right now.
Going to Michigan would be gambling on the unknown. The new coach might not want him at all.
Texas and Oklahoma have great lines (and Mack and Stoops have great O-Line recruits coming in), but they already both have star black RBs (Oklahoma has several) and more in the pipeline.
Sam is too high-profile to opt for a mid-major school, and he shouldn't have to go to one just to guarantee playing time. But all the BCS schools have mostly filled their recruiting slots for RBs already (and have too many on the team as is).
If I were Sam, I'd get in contact with the AD of Michigan or a key member of the BOT. Tell them that if they want his services, they better settle their coaching situation no later than January 2nd. As of right now, he's still a big feather in the cap, and they probably don't want to lose him.
Otherwise, his only safe option is to attend a traditionally white-friendly school (BYU, Iowa, CSU, etc.).

I'm thinking that a greater percentage of available coaching jobs this offseason will go to blacks than ever before. They've been raising a hellacious stink over the issue in ALL sports in the past year, trying to scare schools/pro teams. And ESPN has been leading their own charge on the issue. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if ESPN is whispering in a lot of schools' ears "Hire a black coach for next season, or your coverage might not be so favorable".
I don't really know much about Michigan's administration and 'behind the scenes' players, so I can't speculate on their hire, but I fully expect Arkansas to go black and hire Charlie Strong to replace Houston Nutt.

I think barring injury Sam will have a really great career at RB regardless of where he goes to school. BUT, I do not think that will translate into a shot at RB in the NFL. The coaches, scouts, media, and the general public are satisfied with the status quo. When I mention this whole caste thing to people I know they just shrug their shoulders and say nothing. It's so ingrained in the brains of white people [ especially the under 40 crowd ] that they don't see the big deal. If you're a white kid watching television and all you see are white RB and WR would do you expect? They just figure that's their positions and center, TE, punter, and field goal kicker are ours, or they just go play another sport. I don't see this situation changing for the better , in fact I see it getting worse. As whites get to be a smaller percentage of the population and the whites who still remember how the NFL used to be die off, there will be a smaller pool of potential white talent and nobody to be an advocate for them.

McGuffie was out of the lineup for last week's game nursing his ankle injury and resting up for the playoff run. Tonight that rest has paid off as Sam comes up big in the first playoff game, going 15 for 273 yds (18.2 ypc) and 5 TDs. Cy Fair won 40-27 over a good Cinco Ranch team.Edited by: SteveB

Cy Fair will play the winner of todays Aldine/Houston Lamar game. Both of these schools have a high percentage black players and are well known for sending a lot of players to Division 1 schools.

Here a good article about Sam's game last night with video highlights. The video is amazing and it looks like he is fully healthy for the first time this season.

Hey SteveB, thanks for all the updates on Texas talents, It's virtually impossible for guys like me up here to get info on HS football, it really helps to know there is a new wave of talent coming from strong HS divisions.

SteveB or anyone else in the know: Can Sam make the kind of impact that Alex Smith did for Indiana as a freshmanback in 1994? Smith came out of tiny Franklin County High School and was virtually unknown outside of Indiana. Nonetheless, he ran for 1,475 yards his freshman year. He was about the same size as McGuffie, 6 feet, 205 pounds. Smith was the AP Freshman of the Year.


Smith's career fizzled due to injuries, and despite opting to enter the NFL Draft after his junior year he never played in the league.. To this day, I attribute it to overuse. He routinely ran the ball 35-45 times per game. I would hope that a major program would not overuse Sam.
