The way Petersen is running the ball, Gerhart's chances of seeing any carries are as good as mine. The issue here is different than CLE. Petersen is clearly the best RB in the NFL, what sucks is that Gerhart was drafted by the Vikings. There are at least 15-20 teams where he could be a starter right now.

I don't doubt he's the best right now. Plenty of backs have been struggling like Mendenhall and Chris Johnson. No way they are going to give him even 5 carries a game in Minnesota. He's wasting away the prime years of his career even though he was the best back coming out of college a few years ago. He would have some reps on almost any other team in the league.

This is a pretty wretched game, so I need to do something more productive with my time. But I have a few observations before calling it a night. The Colts affletic D (sans Angerer) is astonishingly bad, as they now trail 28-0. On offense, talented Whites such as Clark, Collie, and B. White have been forgotten, as the motto seems to be "feed the ball to Garcon".

Jim "the sentient" Caldwell appears to be utterly clueless, as we get occasional glimpses of his face with that ever-present blank expression. How the heck did this guy become a head coach in the NFL?

Both the Saints and Colts were among the so-called white-friendly teams we used to root for not long ago. Now, all I'm seeing is another coal-bowl.Overall it was another lousy Sunday, with the exception of the Tebow comeback, Texans win, and the usual assortment of White defenders making big plays.

BTW, I watched the highlights of the DEN-MIA game on the NFL.com, and I could not tell who's who as far as the commentary. It seems like one guy is actually praising Tebow, while another is mocking him and saying he's no athlete like Vick and Newton. If anyone can figure that out, do let us know.

The Colts' quarterback doesn't seem to be all that good, in my opinion. Maybe he's in over his head right now? It seems like the wise thing to do is stop trying to give the ball to that Garcon guy, who keeps dropping passes that even I could catch, and I don't play professional football.

The Colts are interesting because on offense it seems like there are a fair number of Whites, and in general it's Whites protecting the QB (the Saints have it in reverse), while it's almost all Black on defense, and predictably, the defense is awful.

The product the NFL is selling right now is a racist (although it pretends not to be) minstrel show of mostly underqualified idiots acting like sideshow clowns.

I already know that a core of good, athletic, level-headed White men (and Black men who can comport themselves with decency) with Christian values and a sense of honor would probably easily mop the floor with any of these buffoon squads.

— but that's not the product that sells in today's reality show, plastic surgery, singers-who-can't-sing, queer-kissing America.

Hodge must have been so happy when Tebow was struggling and was ready to give his giddy I told you so speech until Tebow made on of the greatest comebacks in NFL history in the final 4 minutes. Hodge was as angry as I've ever seen an analyst towards a player.

If ANY black quarterback did what Tebow did today they'd all be doing cartwheels and saying "all he does is win."

We know that Detroit Lions super-tackle Ndamukong Suh(notes) doesn't have a lot of respect for quarterbacks — he's exhibited this through his NFL career with roughing the passer penalties that have been legit at times, and he's displayed a certain proclivity for twisting the heads of certain Ohio-based quarterbacks (specifically, Cleveland's Jake Delhomme(notes) in 2010 and Cincinnati's Andy Dalton(notes) in 2011) as if they were bottle tops. But according to several members of the Atlanta Falcons' offense, Suh took things way too far after Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan(notes) was injured on a freak play in the third quarter of the Falcons' 23-16 win at Detroit's Ford Field.
The play, which had Ryan in obvious pain after his right ankle bent in a bad way after he tripped over tackle Will Svitek(notes). Ryan came off the field and returned to action shortly thereafter, but per Jeff Schultz of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Suh and at least one teammate went over the line verbally.
"I had respect for Suh before the game," Falcons center Todd McClure(notes) said after the game. "But when Matt was on the ground, the things he was saying and the trash he was talking was definitely uncalled for. There are certain things you don't do. [He said], 'Get the cart' and several other things that I can't repeat."
Receiver Roddy White(notes) agreed. "I lost a whole lot of respect for 90 [Suh] today, and also 92 [Cliff Avril(notes)], the [bleep] they were doing when Matt got hurt. That was unacceptable. … Like 92 was kicking [Ryan's] feet, saying, 'Get him off the field.' We don't do stuff like that. We don't rally over guys when they get hurt. It was just inappropriate behavior. I mean, 'Get the cart'? Are you serious? Come on. When you compete, you never want to see a guy get hurt."

Suh had no specific comment about his alleged comments, saying only that he was disappointed in the Lions' second straight loss, and remarking that his run defense isn't what it should be. Ryan just said that he didn't hear whatever Suh and Avril were saying, which makes sense — you tend to not hear a lot when you're in that much pain.
Avril had this to say via his Twitter account:

Come on I'm not in the business of hurting not one guy on the field... I would never taunt anyone on an injury...But if we want to talk about dirty players look at the film and see who prides themselves on being dirty...

So, that really didn't help.

While the Lions allegedly showed less than ideal class, Ryan proved his toughness. "Well, when I first came to the sideline, I didn't know, because I wanted to make sure the trainers had a chance to look at it—want to be smart in those situations," Ryan said of the injury. "Once I came back in and was able to get it taped and move around on it, I knew I was going to be fine. So, I came back out and told [head coach] Mike [Smith] I was going to be good to go, then came in on third down."
Smith put it more succinctly: His quarterback showed why the Falcons are comfortable putting the franchise in Ryan's hands. "It just shows you the resolve and the resiliency of this guy. He got whacked pretty good; we had to take him into the locker room and really get a good examination. When I saw him coming out of the tunnel, I was trying like crazy to see if we could get him back out there for that third down. Can you go?
"And Matt said, 'Hey, I need to just see if I can put some pressure on it.' He just took a shot and said, 'Hey, I'm ready to go.' He goes out there, and his first play back, he completes a third-down conversion."
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford(notes), who has faced a number of injury concerns in his short career, also was hurt in the game. "A guy just fell on me a little bit awkward. I'm moving around on it okay right now. We'll see," Stafford said of his leg injury. But Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported on Sunday afternoon that Stafford was wearing a walking boot and will have an MRI on Monday.

Not much to root for this week. The Cam Newton hype is really starting to pick up now, after the Panthers dominated the Redskins. I heard some odious jock sniffers on the radio this morning state that they would trade any combination of Redskins players for Newton, even Orakbo and Kerrigan. They are all calling him "special," and a few claimed they'd never seen a better passing day than yesterday, when they declared he didn't throw a single bad pass. It's truly becoming a sickening thing, and Newton's interceptions aren't even mentioned now. Scam's success is the hardest thing to take about this season, with the possible exception of the Hillis situation. I just can't believe he isn't the biggest bust of all time.

I visited the Cleveland Browns' forums again last night, and you can see the Hillis supporters dwindling away week by week. Only a few criticized Hardesty's ridiculous, less than 3 ypc performance, and some were ecstatic that he didn't get hurt and caught both balls thrown to him. The Browns play the 49ers solid defense next, so even if Hillis returns, it's very unlikely that he will make much headway against them behind that line and that playcalling.

The Colts are truly a pathetic sight to behold now. I don't know how anyone on that defense could have the nerve to collect a paycheck after their atrocious effort last night. The offense is a joke. Dallas Clark didn't catch a single pass and Austin Collie's bright promise is being crushed in yet another hate crime, as the worst starting WR in the league, Garcon, continues to be peppered constantly with targets he doesn't deserve.

Speaking again of Tebow, it didn't take him long to find a new favorite, did it? How do you virtually ignore the #1 WR Decker, while forcing 10 targets to Thomas, who of course has unlimited potential? I love Tebow, but you can see that Decker's breakout season is going to be derailed now. No matter what happens, it seems that the overall status quo remains intact.

The Vikings continue to ignore Toby Gerhart. He didn't even get extra touches when Peterson was briefly injured. It's really amazing to behold what's going on here- a team devoted to "winning" trades up in the second round to grab a player they absolutely, positively will never give a chance to even get a decent backup role, let alone start. And no one will trade for him, you can guarantee that. By next year, his reputation around the league will be set, as a "tweener" who can be given 2-3 touches a game and contribute on special teams.

There just isn't much to be optimistic about right now in terms of white skill position players around the league.

Although his receivers did drop multiple passes, he was heavily blitzed, and he was barely permitted to throw the ball…his long/medium range accuracy and decision making were dreadfully poor at times. For the first 3.75 quarters, aside from a few superhuman scrambles, he played the way Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, Jason Witlock, Merril Hoge, and the rest his many white-loathing cynics in Jock Sniffer Nation so gleefully predicted.

With 5:23 remaining in the game and the Broncos down by 15 points, the game appeared entirely out of reach. Then, somehow, someway, Tebow engineered an 8-play, 80-yard touchdown drive with 2:52 remaining. With no timeouts remaining, the Broncos recovered an onside kick. Tebow then produced a 56-yard touchdown drive with 25 seconds remaining. A Tebow QB-draw then scored the 2-point conversion to tie the game…

I’ve never witnessed such a magical comeback in such a short period of time, however, Merrill and Company must’ve been most sickened by the “kneel” after the supernatural victory was assured…

Barring injury to the Packers’ (so-called) “rotation” of Jennings, Driver, Jones, and Cobb, Nelson’s “breakout season” seems less and less likely.

Aside from Welker and Nelson, the only other white receivers (including TE’s) in the top 50 in receiving yardage are Jason Witten (449 yards), Rob Gronkowski (401 yard), and Owen Daniels (355 yards). Receivers such as Jerheme Urban, Blair White, Brian Hartline, Anthony Gonzoles, Marc Mariani, Riley Cooper, Julian Edelman, and, most notably, the ultra-talented Austin Collie, have been “racially misplaced.” The only white receiver who’s received more playing time than expected is Dane Sanzenbacher (and that was due to Bennett's injury). Kevin Walter has been given every opportunity to succeed over the past few seasons, but he remains wildly inconsistent.

Hodge said that the only QB that Tebow played better than yesterday was Kyle Boller and just barely. Tebow won the game and didn't turn the ball over multiple times (like several QB's did) so that statement is beyond ridiculous.

Denver has NO O-line and no running game. Tom Brady would struggle with the lack of talent Denver has on offense.

I couldn't agree more Don. Also people don't want to acknowledge the fact that the Broncos did not want Tebow throwing. The coaching staff is not doing him any favors by not catering to his strengths. I know the main issue if Tebow won would be that it was against the Dolphins and they are a terrible team. The Broncos need to become more creative with the play calling for Tebow.

Regarding Newton, defenses have gotten better as the season goes on. His numbers have gone down. More and more game tape will limit him moving forward. It is very possible he has already played the best he will in his career.

Laugh of the day -- the "great" Chris Johnson's long run of the day yesterday against Houston was 3 [three] yards. Yep, 3 yards. He had 18 yards on 10 carries in yet another wretched performance. Take the most beefed-up White blocking fullback -- or any White fullback for that matter -- and he would be outperforming Chris Johnson.

Running back has become yet another joke position in the NFL. There's only a few really good ones. Peyton Hillis got an opportunity and became an elite power back. Danny Woodhead got an opportunity and became an elite scatback. In fact, every black dominated position has become a joke. The strongest position is quarterback. Corporate sports "journalists" love to periodically whine about the supposed weakness at the QB position (but never any other position), but it was Crissy Collinsworth who actually got something right last night when he said this is a "golden age" for quarterbacking in the NFL. Just think how good the league could be if it ended its blacks-only policy at other positions.

In terms of Jordy Nelson's numbers I believe he got a pass interference penalty to be called against the Vikings on a pretty long pass play as well, to go with his other receptions and yards on the day.
