Drew Bennet comes to mind. He fell off the face of the earth after signing with St Louis
The key is to sign for starter's money, which has gone up significantly following this summer's collective bargaining agreement. If a team signs Jordy for that kind of money then they are almost obligated to start him, plus he's so obviously talented and in his prime that I don't foresee another Drew Bennett situation. But then again the NFL perfected the art of screwing White players a long time ago.

I see that Krissy Collinsworth is absolutely obsessed with James Harrison. He keeps saying how big and strong he is and that he's impossible to block. He even said that Dallas Clark isn't strong enough to block him.

After his Thursday night opener debut, we all thought Nelson was destined for a borderline pro-bowl season. Instead, he has all but disappeared from the rotation. We were wondering if he was hurt, but clearly he's 100%. This kind of garbage, coupled with the Packers blackening movement, Woodhead's reduced role, and what appears to be somewhat fishy situation with Hillis makes it hard not to come down a mild case of bigunrealitis.
I find it difficult to criticize anything the Patriots are doing on offense, it's practically all Whites all the time. With Hillis my guess is there was a fear of his strep throat spreading to others on the team. Now, if he isn't actually sick, then I might get a mild case of bigunrealitis

Pat Angerer is having a phenomenal game -- 8 solo tackles and 9 assists so far -- and not a single compliment from Crissie and Al that I can recall.
The Steelers' sumos are having their usual game -- unable to protect Ben, unable to open up running lanes, and one by one getting injured.
Streep throat is a nasty illness and highly contagious. It's also very painful. Peyton throat is wreaked and probably taking narcotic pain killers. The antibiotics usually take 3 days to work.Bigunrealitis is what "some" say that every game in the NFL is fixed and the players including the White Stars are in on it. Some fake injuries and drop balls , etc. The end game, it's all scripted and the White must never out right dominate affelets for an extended period of time.
Again, a mixture of good and bad this week. Obviously, Welker and Gronkowski are amazing stories, and the Patriots offense continues to be fun to watch. Let's hope Decker keeps starting in Denver, and Lloyd allows him enough targets to produce. Let's also hope that Collie gets more and more targets, and that someday, somehow, the mensa candidate Jim Caldwell realizes just how bad Garcon is, and how incredibly stupid it is to keep your best WR on the bench.
I will reserve judgment on the very curious Hillis situation until after I get a chance to read Rotoworld's and other fantasy sites' take on Hardesty's entirely pedestrian performance, and more importantly hear an explanation from the coach and also his take on Hardesty. We will learn a lot from that. I don't think Hardesty did enough to warrant any more touches, but I'm guessing the coaches and media were probably a lot more impressed than we were by his 67 yards rushing.
I'm also worried about Jordy Nelson. I don't think it's any accident that, as soon as James Jones predictably whined in public about not seeing the field enough in the first game, Jordy's snaps have been dramatically scaled back. It's laughable, really, to see all the mainstream news articles praising him and claiming he's the #2 WR, while the team continues to ignore him and treat him like the #4 guy. Whatever is going on, one thing is certain- you will never heard a similar public complaint about lack of usage from Jordy.
Gerhart is screwed, as I've noted many times. He will never get a chance to be a starting RB in the NFL, barring a 2010 Hillis-type miraculous scenario. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Bengals when Benson's suspension kicks in. Will Brian Leonard get more than a few touches per game? If he does, he will produce.

Gerhart only needs one injury to be a starter; it took six for Hillis to get his chance in Denver.

Collinsworthless did compliment Angerer once, although it was quick and not a huge compliment. Just said he was living up to his name and causing a lot of problems for the Steelers. They showed him making a couple of tackles in a very short mini-highlight reel which included the other two Colt LBs.

My goodness, if Manning was playing right now, he would be shredding Pittsburg's affletic defense and the score would be 35-13. Instead, Collins and Painter can't seem to hit sand if they fell off a camel and Indy will lose this game as a result. More proof what a great player Manning really is.
and Mendenhall was supposed to run all over Brackett-less defense. great game by Angerer and good game defensively for the Colts, they shut down the run and had some huge plays, now get some defensive backs that can cover or tackle, maybe even both.
Jesus, someone block Polamalu? what a great over pursuit that allowed Colts to score btw. Must have been the hair hahaha

That's as good as you can possibly make those numbers sound. So it seems the Browns fans are sold on Hardesty.
Painter is warming up now. Might as well stick with him over Collins for at least a few games to see what he can do as I don't think Kerry is a good fit for Indy's basic offensive scheme.

Well, many Browns fans are saying Hardesty showed flashes of being great. Some are even suggesting a 50/50 scenario now, some 60/40, I'm not sure who is supposed to be the 60 and who is supposed to be the 40 but one guy was blabbing on about how well Hardesty did. Yes he managed to not look bad and not injure himself. SUPERSTAR. I'm sure rotoworld will have some ridiculous spin like that on it.
Someone already said it, he performed like a capable backup, thats it. He had a nice ypc but his impact on the game was minimal. Even if he were some elite runner he's not even close to being the receiver Hillis is and doesn't have pass protection down like Hillis. However, he didn't show anything in college that suggests he is an elite runner, and didn't show it today either.
The one positive I can see from this is that they showed they can win without putting it all on Hillis. It was close and went to the end, but from what I can gather, they weren't too concerned about the running game and weren't loading the box like with Hillis, and they were still able to move the ball downfield with average to below average receivers. Well they managed to move the ball downfield a few times. Evan Moore hardly saw the field. Imagine what this team might be able to do once Hillis is back and if they used Evan Moore. They could throw it if teams try to load the box and when they don't hand it off.
Its hard to tell though, Miami has been horrible at pass defense, and not great at run defense either. Its going to be even harder to move it down the field on other teams if they try to switch up between Hillis and Hardesty, it will throw the rhythm off.
Shurmur just needs to drop the whole WCO thing, its been done figured out, most coaches use a variety of things and adapt their system to the players. McCoy isn't going to be throwing 300+ yards with those receivers. He should be, most qbs have the last few weeks. The defense has actually been good for the most part (minus the few mental errors when they forgot to line up right). I think they were on the field for like 38 minutes this game? Still managed to hold them to 16 points. Haden is a pretty good corner and has held most number 1 receivers in check this year. He proves that you don't have to have an elite 40 time to be a great corner, he ran close to a 4.6. The team should be a ball control offense with Hillis.

this is rotoworld's spin. i will reserve my judgement of this whole situation until next game, i am sure Hillis will prevail as a starter, what needs to be avoided is both of them playing and Hardesty getting more of long runs etc, which i am sure will be christened as big play ability and then Peyton will become just a third down/short yardage back (worst case scenario, i doubt that will happen)
