Allegations include unofficial compensation for players whose hits led to opposing players being carted off or knocked out. As bad as that Saints defense was they should have to rebate some of that money back to the fans, or bettter yet the "not great" Drew Brees, because if Brees isn't throwing for 5k yards that team aint going nowhere. The most benefit they could get from knocking players out of the game was if they knocked themselves out, the 2nd string couldn't have been much worse.

24th in the league in points and yards. I think knocking guys out was the only way they could stop them because they couldn't tackle.

Here’s another article with a little more information. Defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams, is as ridiculous as the odious Buddy Ryan in my book. Too bad the overrated, characterless Williams is now with the Rams. GM Mickey Loomis’ head deserves to be on the chopping block if he was directed by Benson to thwart the bounty scheme and made no effort to stop it.

Loomis, for a while, seemed to be White friendly. Hass, Chase Lyman, and other White receivers were brought in under his watch with regularity, not to mention the Snow Patrol. Ultimately, Sean Payton makes the roster decisions. Of late, Loomis appears to be totally clumsy.

My guess is if this jack@ss becomes the Rams' DC, only Long and Laurinaitis will survive the obvious, upcoming Gregg Williams purge. Similar to what happened in Atlanta around 2004, when a black GM took over a Falcons squad that had 5 or 6 white defensive starters (and 5-6 more white backups) and suddenly they went all black on defense, except Brooking and Kerney, who were both Pro Bowl caliber.

In my opinion, he has to be fired as soon as possible. Former players, who are now broke due to their own stupidity, are suing the NFL in droves claiming the leagues "violent work enviornment" led to lifelong ailments -- concussions, ect...League lawyers know they can't just let this go with a slap on the wrist. He's got to be fired and New Orleans must be hit hard (lose draft picks, ect.), or it will be used against them in lawsuits for decades!

NFL: Payton suspended for one year



The NFL has handed down harsh penalties against the Saints over the "pay for performance" program.

Saints Coach Sean Payton is suspended for one year without pay.

Former Defensive Coordinator Greg Williams is suspended indefinitely.

Assistantn coach Joe Vitt suspended without pay for the first six regular-season games of 2012.

GM Mickey Loomis: Suspended eight games, $500,000 fine.

The NFL fined the Saints organization $500,000 and stripped the team of their 2nd-round pick in 2012 and 2013.

This is certainly good news. Williams, who maybe the top wigger defensive coordinator, was sure to purge St. Louis of their White players sans Laurinaitis and Long. In addition to his treatment of White athletes, his behavior with the "bounty" stuff is embarrassing and unfitting of a White man.

It would be nice to say that the harsh fines and penalties are a sign that the NFL is getting tough on thugish behaviour but the real reason is the NFL's fears of lawsuits (which will come anyway). I'm sure they were advised by their jew lawyers that other jew lawyers are going to come after them for being lenient to an environment where intentional injury was encouraged. Cover your ass the best you can is the lesson learned here.

By the way, I've read that bounties of this kind are sometimes used in black college football. I wonder if Williams (and Payton) was doing it as a way of "relating to players," something that a coach in the modern NFL has to do.

I could care less about the suspensions. I just hope it doesn't wussify the league anymore than it already is. Yeah you don't want to see players get injured or even worse, crippled for life, but thats the chance they take when playing the game. If they don't like it then find another way to make a living. Its the affletes that are broke after 3 years out of the league suing the league for minor problems. Those are the main guys they are worried about. It seems like they haven't done much to help out the older White players, some who can't even sit still without pain.

and its usually the White players that suffer from these rule changes to make the game "safer". James Harrison, Ryan Clark or Troy P can make tons of dirty hits/cheap shots and not get fined but Eric Smith has lost about a year's worth of salary over the years for making perfectly legal hits, that just happened to be hard.


I am sure black colleges give out bounties. I know some famous rapper was paying kids at Miami to take out certain White players. But the whole big hit thing has always been promoted, we give out stickers to kids in high school after they make one, snot busters. Big hits should still be a part of the game, now intentionally injuring a player is a totally different thing. The hit by McCray was classless, I don't think Warner would have made a play on that, usually older qbs do a little dive. McCray should also be getting fined, if he is still in the league, he was the main one making the dirty hits. I believe he was also the one roughing up Favre. None of his big hits came while rushing the passer, which is where a big hit like that should come from.

and yes other players from other teams said this was common. The Williams bounty thing goes all the way back to 2000 when he was working under Jeff Fisher.

I agree that the NFL's become wussified, but there's no need for head hunting. White players too often get speared and head hunted. Not saying blacks don't do the same to other blacks, but it's disproportionately affected White receivers over the years, Austin Collie being a great recent example. Jordan Shipley was knocked senseless his rookie season by a vicious hit. Guys like Tom Waddle, Ed McCaffrey, Tim Dwight, Don Beebe and others were regularly head hunted. They shrugged it off and showed how tough they were, but I think forcing defenders to get back to the basics of tackling will help White players more than it will hurt them. There's nothing wrong with an aggressive or fierce tackle, but the head hunting launching oneself off the ground stuff is a black speciality that needs to go.

I agree, thats kind of the point I was trying to make. You can still make big hits without head hunting but like I mentioned, Eric Smith is one example of a guy getting fined when he wasn't head hunting, unless you want to consider accidentally getting knocked into Boldin. The bounty system is common place in the NFL and its not different from Goodell choosing which players get fined for hits considered dirty. Its all open to interpretation and not every player is treated the same. I am worried that this behaviour will still go on and Whites will be ignored in the process. Nobody cared about Shipley or Collie, but when Smith was accidentally knocked into Boldin...who missed a game because of it, there was an outrage.

With the Saints' bounty scandal coming to its conclusion on Wednesday (at least, the beginning of the conclusion), it makes sense to look back at how it started. At some point along the way, obviously, someone in the Saints organization said something to someone that maybe should've stayed in house.
Who's the rat? According to Warren Sapp, it's former Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey. Here's how their Twitter conversation unfolded, complete with denial from Shock-J.

Sapp later defended his stance on NFL network, saying his source was very close to the situation and he trusted what his source told him:
"I trust my source unequivocally." Sapp said. The former NFL star did emphasize that he didn't get the information from the NFL. "I did not call anybody at the league and I did not receive any information from the league."
Put as much stock in that as you'd like. Warren Sapp "heard" something, and Jeremy Shockey denied something he'd probably deny either way. I don't know if it's true, but it is a fun little theory and it certainly didn't make the NFL look good.
Shockey was most recently in the headlines for reportedly wanting to rejoin the New York Giants, or any team, really. Being labeled a clubhouse snitch, whether it's reality or fiction, isn't going to help his cause (at the very least, it's a bad idea to put him in the same city as Carmelo Anthony). And if Sapp is tweeting about it, then there are certainly people within the league bouncing about the same idea.
If Shockey does get back in the league, and it's on a team that plays the Saints, imagine the bounty on that guy.

How much of this had to do with the "NFL's top brass" desperately wanting either Cam Newton's Carolina or Josh Freeman's Tampa to be in the postseason next season, either through a wildcard berth or winning the Division? And, with RG3 likely to join Michael Vick in the NFC East next year, the NFL's head honchos' are going to want to see "results" from their black experiments at QB. Right now, that epicenter is in the tough NFC. This has presented a challenge for the league, and the first shot has now been fired..

Free agent tight end Jeremy Shockey continued to vent his displeasure with NFL Network analyst Warren Sapp and the league in general over accusations that he was an informant in the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal that resulted in extensive penalties for the team.
Shockey continued to emphatically deny he said anything to the league and communicated that directly with Saints coach Sean Payton on Thursday. Shockey said he has not been contacted by anyone with the NFL regarding its apparent violation of league policy that whistleblowers not be identified.

In addition, Shockey said he has been contacted by multiple lawyers about filing a lawsuit over the matter.
"Is the league going to come down on their own people when someone does something so wrong and outrageous?" Shockey said. "There should be a standard for punishment, like getting suspended or fined or losing your job. If I say something about officials, the league fines me.
"This guy says something about me that's not true and that he's not supposed to say and what happens? Nothing. You'd think they would have done something to check it out. Heck, this guy [allegedly] hit a woman, got arrested and nothing happened to him."
Sapp was investigated for domestic violence in February 2010 while covering Super Bowl XLIV in Miami for the league-owned network. The charges were later dropped.
Nonetheless, Shockey said he feels he has been damaged by the situation.

"I'm 31 years old and this is not good. People have asked if this is going to hurt me in finding another team. I don't know, but it's not helping me," said Shockey who played for the Saints from 2008 to 2010 and scored the game-winning touchdown in New Orleans' Super Bowl victory.

I don't think that was the main reason but it does increase the chances of more black qbs in the playoffs. If the Saints are damaged by this the only threat would be the Falcons and they can be hit or miss. It would sure look good for the caste system if Drew Brees got outplayed by black quarterbacks 4 times next year. Call Payton what you want, but he is a genius when it comes to offense. Drew is an elite qb but the system they run isn't like what Manning had with the Colts where you could call most of the plays at the line. The Saints have a ton of variations with play calls, tons of subsitutions and his card that he holds on the sidelines holds a ton of plays with many different concepts. You would expect a 4 to 6 game suspension and a heavy fine, not an entire year. Other teams are running the same type of thing but the whole thing was "its not as organized as what Williams has". He has been doing this since the Titans, where I believe he became DC in 1997, and there is no doubt that most of those coaches knew of it as well, or had a general idea. Its hard to hide that kind of stuff but its also easy for another coach to look the other way. Why the Saints and why now? I wonder if the Superbowl being held in New Orleans has any affect on revenue for the league if the Saints did make it. That plus they can say they did something to try and stop people from being injured when more lawsuits come.

However, I think they will be fine, Pete Carmichael knows the system pretty well (he filled in on the sidelines for a few games while Payton was injured and in the booth) as well as Brees, the combination of both will help. They might have to modify a few things but oh well. I think less is better, Payton had periods where he overcomplicated things. That combined with the fact that Spagnolu will be on the defensive side and he is just coming from a head coaching gig, although he isn't familiar with what the Saints run it won't be hard to get a grasp of it and have all 3 of them put their heads together and have a great offense. I know Spagnolu is a defensive guy and wasn't a great head coach, but he spent time under Andy Ried and has a general idea of a pass heavy offense being that he had to spend his career trying to figure out how to stop them.

The question is, who deals with the draft now that Loomis and Payton are suspended? the owner? I would love to see what his moves are. My belief is that he is the main reason the team has stayed black for most of their existence. Wanting the team to represent the population of New Orleans my ass, what a stupid way to do things. Most of the ticket owners are from outside of town and are White. I know we like to blame head coaches for the racial makeup of teams but most don't have all of the say. Only the smarter ones leave it up to the coaches, even then they still have some say in final descisions. The guy bringing in all the White players to the Bears needs to stick up for himself once in a while and override Lovie, should have been fired by now. Obviously this isn't the case where "the coach knows better". As for the lower levels, for many colleges the boosters have a good deal of say, they want the players with the stars behind their name.
