How many times again this year have we heard the ESPN talking heads repeatedly say a black player "didn't run well at the Combine" or "didn't run as well as expected at his pro day" but there is no real problem with him being drafted?

Or his strength or shuttle drills or jumps were not so good, but...don't worry about it!

The Casteboys with another surprise pick with ILB Caleb McSurdy.

Funny how far Dennard fell. From Round 1 or 2 to Round 7. Had already forgot about him.

I wonder if New England plans on sending him playbooks in prison. Because that's where he's going to be for the next six months.

Dumbass pick.

It boggles my mind how such a well run organization like the Patriots still stays black on the defensive side of the ball. Why not follow the success of your white offense. Dennard is the worst of the worst and they draft this guy? Unbelievable!

Man, I'm so dissapointed, the Patriots had the opportunity to do some pretty amazing things with their picks to help the team and whiten up more on D at the same time and they blew it. I'm not even sure who to root for this season with what the Pats and the Packers are doing to themselves.

Who are the backup QBs for Pittsburgh? Oakland? Tampa Bay? Atlanta?

Don't these teams need QB depth? I know that Pryor is never going to be a good NFL quarterback.

i know Moore and Keenum don't have ideal arm strength and will struggle to make all of the throws but these guys are acting like they are maxed out at 22 years old. I can throw a football much farther with more zip than when I was 22. NFL teams have great strength and conditioning programs. Drew Brees had to start from scratch with his arm after the injury and came back stronger, he didn't have the arm strength you see now when he first came out. Brady's arm got stronger over time. If some team took a late round pick on them, let them sit, develop, hit the weight room etc. then they have a good chance of doing something. Moore would be a great fit behind Drew Brees.

Did I just see correctly? Ebert to the Patriots? that would be an awesome pick!

Forget Moore and Keenum for a moment.
What about Austin Davis? He has ideal measurables, according to NFL scouts. Chandler Harnish is one of the most successful dual threat QBs in college football history. He has the size and speed that scouts love, and he has always avoided mistakes.
Did BJ Coleman ever go anywhere? Or did they just jerk that kid around and get his hopes up for nothing?

Ebert is the only receiver (WR or TE) that the Pats took in the draft. He could be the next great "Wes Welker"-type receiver at NE ;)

I was going to post about Harnish a couple of hours ago, but my Internet connection took a dump for over an hour. Harnish is a multidimensional athlete and has the size, smarts, speed, strength, toughness, etc. A complete football player. What a joke he hasn't been selected.

DT Markus Kuhn of NC State goes to the Giants. After losing Tolefson, hopefully Kuhn will give the Giants at least 1 D lineman....

The Steelers took Oregon TE David Paulson with their last pick. I'm shocked that Pittsburgh actually picked two whiteys in the draft.

The Packers FINALLY take a white player in Florida St. Tackle Andrew Datko.

Good point.
unfortunately, it was pretty obvious that these guys would be screwed over a long time ago. The msm doesn't even want people to know these guys exist. I am sure the average fan would be surprised to know that for his senior season Harnish threw for 3k 28 tds 6 interceptions 60+ completion ratio and ran for 1400 11 tds while standing at 6'2 220, almost identical size to Robert Griffin. Yeah he played in the MAC but I don't consider it that much a difference compared to Big 12 defenses (lost a close game to Kansas by 3 points I think while throwing for 300 2td 80 percent completion and running for 90 3 tds.) Hes someone that should get more mention. I haven't really seen the other guys play that much.

And how about the Steelers picking up David Paulson, TE from Oregon?

Miracles do happen.

I haven't watched any of the draft coverage by the media and haven't read about it until now. I look forward to seeing a summary of this year's draft in terms of White players. Thus far, is it as bad as last year's?

I'd heard a few days ago the Steelers were showing interest in Paulson. I guess since the black players behind Heath Miller are the useless David Johnson, near-useless Leonard Pope, and the suspended punk Weslye Saunders, maybe even Tomlin and Colbert had to realize they should bring a young player who might actually do a good job backing up Miller for a few years, and then perhaps more.

It's a shame they didn't pick up a good white QB to develop behind Big Ben, but maybe, maybe that will happen next year.

so Harnish goes to the Colts where he has no shot with Luck starting, hopefully he can learn and get a chance with another team.
Maybe he could be utilized in the "Wildcat" formation. That's what he basically ran out of while at NIU. He's more of a complement to Luck than a competitor. Just glad he was drafted.

Keenum and Moore will be picked up as FA for sure.
