Smiff with 65 yards passing? Aaron Rodgers gets that many yards in a single pass attempt when he and Jordy connect with their customary big play once a game.

It's truly insane that this retard was ever thought of as a potential franchise QB. The good news is that after this season, Rex "Jabba the Hut" Ryan will never be a head coach again and Smiff should either be out of the league or forever destined to be a backup.

Ryan Tannehill's 4/5 chocolate O-line did him no favors today, despite getting the win. Of course, the caste announcers Gruden and Tirico have to get in a little dig at Tannehill about how "horrible" he is with the long ball. (Geno Smiff predictably received no criticism despite his measly 65 yards passing) Never mind the fact that his receivers have no time to get open on deep passes because these sumos can't block to save their lives. That also answers the question to why Hartline's production has gone down. It isn't that he's not being targeted, its the very dark O-line not giving him any time to get open. This chocolate offensive line (and a past his prime Daryn Colledge) is still the same crappy unit from last year, only Tannehill has gotten better at masking their deficiencies. Of course, the Dolphins DWF's still place the blame on Tannehill. If Ryan Tannehill (as well as Brian Hartline) had the Patriots all-white O-line, they would be putting up mind boggling numbers.

It seems to me from watching the Dolphins this season that when Tannehill does have time he's looking for Landry a lot more than Brian. I've seen this play out before and I think it's highly unlikely that Hartline will be anything but a backup after this season, including if/when he leaves Miami. Once a White receiver is "demoted," it's usually a permanent arrangement.

As far as Smiff receiving no criticism tonight from ESPN's caste duo, Gruden seemed genuinely appalled at the Jets' total lack of a passing attack, mumbling something like "I've never seen anything like it" at the end of the game. But yeah, I agree Tannehill was nitpicked while Smiff's grotesque ineptness was mostly ignored.

yeah never a head coach, but thats what sticking the caste script seems to get these guys, a life long job, these sorry coaches always have some position coaching no matter how terrible they are. I mean even a guy like Gregg Williams who you would think wouldn't be coaching because of the whole bounty gate thing, is still coaching, the coordinator for the Rams.

The criticism of Smiff was pretty benign. They want him to succeed so badly but even they know he's an utter failure as a QB so it's better for Caste ESPN to just not say anything at all.

You are correct that Landry is getting more targets than Hartline. I hate to use the caste narrative and sound like a DWF but Landry does have "explosive speed" and with this crappy offensive line, a receiver like him is very valuable as it allows Tannehill to get rid of the ball quickly. Hartline would thrive on a team like New England or Dallas. With Miami going caste at the O-line position (something that I hope changes now that Ireland is no longer the GM) it's unlikely Hartline will get more targets.

What a show by Geno tonight!! It really sucks about Decker, but he made his bed by signing with that joke of an organization. Was really hoping to see he and Hartline have big games on national tv.

What happened to Jason Trusnik??? I thought he was starting for Miami..

I wonder if Decker considered who his QB would be when he signed with the Jets.

I think an empty can of pork and beans would make a better quarterback than Geno Smith, and would probably score a highler wonderlic, too.
The plain or spicy pork and beans?

I believe Hartline signed a huge multi million dollar contract for 3 years after his breakout season 2 years ago, I believe, I could be wrong, too lazy right now to look it up. He has one more year on it. MIA QB does share some blame if not all in not targeting Hardline during the game. It is either Hartline can not get separation or Tannilhill believes "da affelets" can make "plays" BS and Hardline can not. Essentially Tannilhill has bought into the caste system regarding Hardline. If Hardline is tip top and is not suffering from any undisclosed injury. It is that simple. Right now I am tempting to rag on the MIA QB, but I will refrain.

Ryan Tannehill's favorite target at Texas A&M was Ryan Swope, and over the previous two years he's targeted Hartline enough for him to have back-to-back 1000 yard seasons. It's frustrating to see Hartline phased out like this, but I don't blame Tannehill solely for the dip in Hartline's production. Also, Hartline got injured and was sidelined after his first and only reception in this game.

Even the guys at Roto know the score:

Geno Smith completed 7-of-13 passes for 65 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception in the Jets' Week 13 loss to the Dolphins on Monday night.

Smith was just 4-of-8 passing before the final drive when the Jets had to let him throw the ball down 16-13 with under two minutes to play. OC Marty Mornhinweg dialed up the ground game early and often, running it 14 consecutive times and 21-of-22 times at one point in the first half. It was working, as the Jets managed 210 yards rushing in the opening 30 minutes. But it showed just how little (or zero) confidence they have in Smith. He predictably tossed an inevitable interception on the Jets' final play to seal the three-point loss. Geno is the worst starting quarterback in the NFL.

Also, does anyone remember last year when Jaws proclaimed that Kaepernick had all the tools and skills to be the greatest QB of all time? I thought about that ludicrous statement after Toucan's horrendous game on Thanksgiving night.

2014 has truly been a disaster for the black quarterbacks and all their nut-huggers.

Woody I say that because he and Welker, and Thomas practiced it during the week. Then when Manning got in front of the media he was like " aww shucks I cant believe those guys did that. What a special memory thats gonna always be for me. Im gonna kill those guys." He was trying to sell it as real, and spontaneous. Its a small thing but it does PROVE a certain level of falseness. The staged celebration is fine. At worst its corney. However to talk to the media as if you had no idea it was gonna happen, after working on it in practice, is very phoney.

We are an extreme bunch here castefootball (the best website on the net). In some cases we are extremely critical of our guys for tiny reasons, and at some times we refuse to criticize them no matter how they play on the field, or how despicable their character is off field. notice I say WE not yall or you. I know Im guilty too.

I do take your point i knew they did it as a joke but i wasn't aware of how he was that misleading in the press conference over it. As you say phoney when there is no need too.

Of all time! Jaws has his face firmly jammed up the caste masters asses of BSPN. I remember in 1987, BSPN was a go to channel. Not now obviously. It looks like Wilson, knows his limitations and strengths, ie. he knows when to run without getting hit. With Kapernick, it looks like he has been figured out. Colin does not have the situational awareness while in the pocket. He has the ability but not the smarts to excel at QB over the long haul. Wilson it seems has the intelligence to be a super game manager with a good running game.

It just shows how stupid the so-called experts really are. Remember John Madden proclaiming RG3 as the best player in the NFL? The truth is that football is not rocket science. So called experts like to throw around fancy pseudo-technical terms like "skill set" and then brag about how much film they have watched therefore their opinion is actually fact. But, the truth is that their opinion is just an opinion usually based on emotion not different from the average couch potato who watches plenty of "film" every Sunday, Monday night, and Thursday night.

My gosh look at all the complete swings and misses by the so-called experts who all assured us that they have done their homework. Geno smiff, EJ manuel, RGIII - I could go on. College football experts are no better. Wisconsin failed to offer JJ Watt, a 6'6" 300 lb beast, a scholarship. Neither did any other major D1 team. It's not like Watt was hidden away on the farm bailing hay. Watt was a football standout in High School and a track standout. The "experts" must have miss calculated his "skill set."

The bizzaro world of NFL analysts continues. This morning I listened to the ESPN game broadcast booth experts - Trent Dilfer, Steve Young and others tell us why the move to start Johnny Manziel is absurd. Their reasoning? Brian Hoyer doesn't have great stats but his is winning and he has had an amazing 4 fourth quarter comebacks - the most in the NFL. Then they added the icing on the cake; Hoyer's quarterback rating in the final 3 minutes of games is higher than Tom Brady! His must start!

Sound like any past QB controversy in which the media wanted said quarterback benched?

The Bizzaro world indeed.

Just thinking it would be nice if a tech savy energetic caste football member could put together a video montage of all the experts completely swinging and missing on their analysis. I think it could go viral if done correctly.

I have iMovie which isn't fancy but it's easy to do basic editing with it. If someone can curate YouTube links of clearly false statements by commentators, I'd be willing to put a collection together.

It was nice to see Tannehill lead the comeback win tonight when all throughout the broadcast the commentators kept saying that Tannehill is a choker (despite the fact that his most brutal 4th quarter interceptions came off of awful drops by his receivers).

Great! I think the next step is to create a new thread in happy hour asking for youtube links from staff on the blunders of the so-called experts. I think we can compile quite a bit of laughably wrong analysis from the experts.

i am no Rex Ryan fan but I feel that the whole geno smiff debacle was due to the caste whore gm. I think Ryan preferred both Sanchez and Vick over smiff. Idzik (probably with backing from the jets owner) forced Smiff onto Rex Ryan to be the starter. Smiff has been a colossal bust afterbeing anointed as the next black savior of the qb position.

I think last nights game plan by the jets was a big FU from the coaching staff to the GM after he forced smiff back into the starting lineup for the Miami game.

All tebow did was win and bring excitement to the league. All of the experts mocked tebow and his supporters when they said he just wins. Now they are using the same argument to keep Manziel from starting. What a joke.

The networks have the resources to employ people who can spend days and weeks putting together montages on any subject. They also have access to video libraries, which must be indexed in a manner similar to the way books are, which cuts down considerable time in locating material.

Maybe Caste Football will be able to do the same on a smaller version someday. . .

lol yep! they used the same EXACT argument to justify demoting Tebow as a starter (instead of keeping him on like Hoyer). They would say "they are winning games DESPITE him"

I am personally a little conflicted on the Manziel/Hoyer debate. I like both players. Hoyer has a great story coming into the league as a free agent qb, learning under Brady, becoming a written off journeyman who ends up as a starter for his home team. I think Hoyer has a future as a serviceable starter and will command some interest as a potential starter for a team. I also appreciate his confidence in his abilities when asked about potentially losing the starting spot. I wish Cousins had more of that approach when he was starting for the Redskins to be honest.

Manziel is a rare talent and fun to watch. He is young and has a lot to learn about playing the position in the NFL. I think the Browns plan of sitting him was the right decision. I think we can all be realistic and acknowledge that mobile qbs running the zone read have been a pretty big failure in the NFL. I think the way Manziel becomes a successful long term qb is by learning to play from the pocket and using his athletic ability spontaneously rather than running plays that actually call for him to run the ball. He did that on Sunday vs Buffalo, he was in the pocket scanning the field and saw an opening and took off for the TD.

If teams don't respect your ability as a passer the running lanes aren't there. Teams have taken the running ability away from the black quarterbacks and dared them to throw the ball and as we have seen they simply can't do it. On the other hand look at Rodgers and Luck - they are pocket passers but have shown they can run the ball, the defenses are scared of their passing ability which allows them to break off some good runs. That is what Manziel needs to become.

i highly doubt he had any clue that an NFL qb could be that bad, surely he figured the guy wasn't surrounded by any talent as the media suggested, and if he were truly that bad, surely they would bench him....right? Hopefully stuff like this wakes up some players to the agenda.
