Boxing schedule for this weekend. The main card will be carried by ESPN+. Zanibek Alimkhanuly vs Steven Baker for the WBO middleweight title and Josh Moloney vs Vincent Astrolabio for the Bantamweight title.
Yes the ESPN card has two Whites in title fights with Moloney as the A side with Butler the long shot B side against ducked Zanibek Alimkhanuly .

Based off the previous title fight of the Montreal based Butler the Eurasian budding star should win and win spectacularly as this is a showcase fight but Denzil Bentley was supposed to be a similar fight and Bentley went the distance and at times the Kazakh national seemed run out of ideas after Bentley stood up to his attack and Bentley won some late rounds. Butler will need to have that staying power to have a shot to win or even go the distance.

Showtime has a PBC card and has no Whites but does have another Central Asian Eurasian fighting Batyr Akhmedov he was last seen losing a paper thin decision to the since exposed drug cheat Puello.

Another loss and the Eurasian may retreat to the Russian/Central Asian circuit.

PS I forgot to mention Jason Moloney has probably a last chance saloon title fight against unknown Filipino Vincent Astrolabio. Similar to the previously discussed Eurasian a loss would probably send Moloney back to Australian circuit.

One thing similar to unknown Mexicans, Filipino fighters who fight at the fly, bantam and featheweight levels can mix at the highest levels of boxing while still being unknown. The gym scenes are deep and churn out hungry unknown fighters. He may be a danger man even if he is the betting dog in this fight.

White is Right, Arerequired, do you'll know if Teddy Atlas is still training Gvozdyk? I hope he has changed trainers. I feel like Teddy tries to get all the credit for his fighter's success. Gvozdyk still can be a force in the LT. Heavyweight division.

As best I can tell his team was a non descript team and the trainer looked ethnic Mexican so he could be based out of California or the US Southwest.

He may hire a high profile trainer for a world level cross roads fight.

Uncle Teddy is confined to his Youtube channel where he breaks down fights and boxing rumors.

Updating the fights from last night and Jason Moloney is the new WBO bantamweight champion. Moloney seemed to cruise to an obvious wide points win but not according to two judges who had it a draw and a one round victory. Aside from the 12th round where Moloney spoiled by holding and running his Filipino opponent was having a hard time getting off more than the occasional power punch.

A post fight drug screen was needed by those two who might have swallowed the worm in their comped tequila at their comped casino buffet.

As I speculated Butler was violently shown why boxing has levels as the Kazakh champion knocked him down 3 times and scored a violent stoppage. This was the kind of stoppage which shows why Andrade dumped his WBO belt as similar to GGG when he first was the WBA champion the Eurasian doesn't have the fan base to justify PPV purses at this point in his career but stars in the 154 to 168 range won't fight him unless they have 7 figure or possibly 8 figure purses to fight him.

Butler will have to retreat to the Montreal bubble and possibly fight at the Canadian or Commonwealth level before he fights again at the world level as he has been stopped twice now when he stepped up to world level fights.

PS the Butler fight ended so quickly I switched over to the Showtime card and saw the debacle with Romero over the oldest 40 year old since Ortiz tried to pawn off his birth certificate. My takeaway from the fight was Tony Weeks needs to be put pasture as he called a push a knockdown and then stopped the fight in Romero's favor without a punch landed on the plucky Venezuelan.

I remember when Weeks stopped Ward vs Kovalev II and he missed obvious fouls that should have given Kovalev time to recover but this was probably worse than that....

It looks like GGG is considering calling it a career. I just hope he sticks with retirement if he does retires.

Supposedly his career is in the air, in other words if he has a big money option he will defend his title(he dropped the WBA belt to avoid a low money fight with Lara). The problem for him is there is no big money options at middleweight. It's not like there isn't talent with fellow Kazakh Zanibek Alimkhanuly holding the WBO belt, but Charlo is one step away from the Bellevue if the reports of mental health issues are true and Lara is now the full WBA champion and he has always been avoided at 154 because he is viewed as boring and has no fan base.

In the middleweight division stars are made with long reigns and only then can they start to make big money there aren't any cash cows out there among challengers. So he could call it a day as his IBF mandatory will be due soon as he last defended this title with unification fight with Murata in Japan last year. Here is Johnathan Banks confirming what I stated...

Lomo vs Haney is the big fight this weekend. Haney looks like a welterweight compared to Lomo.

Yes a legitimate super fight without the celebrity boxing hype of Davis vs Garcia fight. Haney is a full size larger than Loma and knows how to use his size and length to avoid exchanges and score on the outside. Haney has two flaws he isn't naturally aggressive enough and he tires down the stretch.

If Loma is to win he needs to win rounds early to make Haney stand in front of him so that Loma can tear the house down from the foundation. The Loma that beat Commey and the Japanese national would beat Haney in a tight fight but the one who looked a few steps slower against the PR unknown fighter probably loses as that Loma won't be able create the angles to land his combinations.

Also this weekend has a big Irish card with a few prospects on the undercard of a Katie Taylor fight, if I watch the card I will comment on the prospects.

PS the weigh in that you can watch on Youtube is for show as the real one was done in front of boxing commission officials hours before this with both fighters making weight. Haney needed to disrobe to make weight on his second try and will probably jump up to 140 if he loses or even crawls across the finish line with a win as he looked like a homeless person with clean clothes on during fight week functions.

Haney pushed Loma and could have injured him. I would so love to see Loma beat this racist tonight. Haney said no whiteboy can beat him.

If Loma wins tonight I can see a total mental breakdown from Haney just like Wilder. His fragile black psych can’t handle losing to a white man.

Not as much buzz for this one as for the fight a couple weeks ago. But a better match-up. Haney needs the size and age advantage against a guy like Loma.

I wouldn't be the house on either one but of course I want Loma to win and win amazingly.

UD robbery, affletes will always get the decisions unless it's complete domination, Loma had the better rounds and could hurt him, needed to knock him out.

Not even an SD, straight up gave the afflete a UD

Loma isn't getting any younger, barring an immediate rematch I think his window is getting ever smaller.

Even Kellerman gave it to Loma lol, at this point fans are either stupid to not be aware of the racial bias or just ignore it.

There probably won't be one as Haney and his team bent the rules as much as they could to squeeze him into 135. Even if Loma didn't gas in the 12th it would have only been a draw.

Four rounds were easy to score the 1st, 10th, 11th and 12th were obvious and maybe the 2nd. Everything else was duck soup IMO, I had a marginal Loma win or a draw but could see a marginal Haney win like what two cards were but the other card had probably banked rounds before the fight started.

One conclusion from this is if you are Eastern European or Central Asian and you fight house fighters prepare to be robbed or at least not given the benefit of any close rounds.

Too many times either GGG, Kovalev and now Loma have gotten the short end of the stick. Klimas seems like the manager of the good guy who constantly gets clubbed over the head with a foreign object and the bad guy retains the title on a foul in this scoring pantomime.

PS I saw some of the prospect fights in Ireland and the disaster Moloney suffered at the hands of the budding Japanese star at 115 and may commentate on the fights tomorrow or Monday.

One card had round 10 for Haney, even with a dominant round 12 he would have lost on that card.

I feared this outcome, It was likely something like this was going to happen so I was apprehensive about the fight, they have gravely harmed Loma's career here

Yup, these young black American divas will keep getting protected for the historical boxing fanbase.

When you watch these things, it's best to mute the announcers. They are always so biased. Loma was ducking and blocking just about everything Haney threw upstairs, yet the announcers would describe it as Haney scoring. Even the body shots, Loma was partially blocking, and pulling away from most of them. Teofimo was never the same after fighting Loma. It will be interesting to see what happens with Haney.

Often the problem with these high level smaller superfast fighters is what landed or didn't land. Punches that connect so quickly and skills so subtle that it's hard for my eye to catch just what happened. If a fan or judge is biased for one of the boxers he can see what he wants to see.

You seldom see the recipient of a gift decision admit the other guy was robbed. Joe Louis in his title fight with Jersey Joe and Sugar Ray Leonard in his second fight with Hearns are the only two I can think of off hand.

The boos of Haney as he left the ring will be ringing in his ears for a while.

The KO of Moloney was absolutely scary. Hope he is not hurt permanently.

Yes this was the ko that I alluded to Moloney is in his early 30's and has mixed it with the elite of 115 but he is aging and after a ko like this he may never have the chin or reflexes to fight elite 115 pounders again and not have results like this. Nakatani has the look of a future superstar he was boxing from the outside and inside and scored multiple knock downs from pure power. He could become Monster II if he is moved right.

PS I scored the main event and I had less pea soup rounds but the fight was very nip and tuck and had it a draw when I looked at the totals. I had Loma winning the early rounds Haney winning the middle rounds and Loma obviously winning the late rounds but not the 12th but when I watched it again this was less obvious than live and was a pea soup round that I gave to Haney but could have been given to Loma.

Kellerman who has been no friend to White boxers unless they are as good as Loma gave the last round to Loma.

Interestingly Haney is a free agent after this fight so he may run to the PBC to fight Tank, run to Eddie Hearn or stay in the Top Rank fold but move up. If he runs to the PBC he will try and get a super fight with Tank but all other scenarios he moves up as I said earlier he looked ashen and skinny all fight week. He may have gained 20 pounds post weigh in.
