Good. I'm glad it's not happening. I hope Usyk schools Wilder and Fury KOs Joshua. Oh, and I am hoping that big Chinese guy KOs Joyce.

Agreed! I would take no pleasure in seeing Fury Usyk best each other. Reality is Fury would wear him down if not worse.

Much rather see them beat others as you mentioned.

It's a slow weekend for White contenders or even prospects as no contenders are fighting this weekend on North American broadcasted cards and only Campbell Hatton and a few lower profile prospects are fighting on the Joshua vs Franklin card.

I may commentate on the prospects if I view the card and commentate in passing on the main event. One thing about the main even the two fighters have divergent strategies as Franklin has always been buttery looking for all of his prospect fights and the Whyte fight but today he looked fairly lean for him and Joshua weighed in at a career high but not sporting a belly less a possible HGH belly. We shall see what strategy will prevail.

PS Haney vs Loma is signed and will happen in 7 weeks it will be the classic old lion vs young lion and who will be the king of the jungle or in this case the lightweight division. Judging by the photos Loma is spotting a good division in natural size to the younger Haney. https://fightnews.com/haney-loma-kickoff-press-conference/145845

I also forgot to mention Eimantas Stanionis had his WBA regular welterweight title defense delayed if not cancelled against the talented Virgil Ortiz due to another flare up of rhabdomyolysis which can be a side effect of making weight in a too fine manner. Ortiz may have to move up a division or 2 to make weight without his body breaking down again.

Updating the Joshua card Campbell Hatton got it done in one against his limited opponent. He hit him in the solar plexus and it was good night.

Maybe Hatton is turning the corner if Hatton is learning how to body punch similar to his pops, only time will tell.

On to the main event and all I can say is team Hearn must be calculating the best before date on the expiration of the Joshua marketing phenom. As he looked wooden, timid and robotic against the new B side opponent Franklin.

Boxing always has guys that will give star fighters tough fights but find ways to lose but not get blown out and Jermaine Franklin seems to be this decades version of that opponent.

This weekend's boxing schedule. On the Stevenson vs Yoshino undercard, there is a Polish HW named Damian Knyba fighting. He is 10-0. I have never seen him fight so I don't know if he is good or bad. Hopefully, White is Right can tell us something about him.

I saw this signing and I have never heard of him and looked up his opponents and until tomorrow they have been the usual Eastern European blue collar worker types who moonlight as boxers. Tomorrow he steps up to Curtis Harper who is more durable than the typical Slovenian butcher type. But from what I remember of Harper he isn't that much better than the previous opponent type.

Tonight Argentine Guido Schramm fights on a Show-box card I'm assuming he is the B side opponent but he does have a decent record.

PS if you are looking for the Polish prospects fight he may be on the internet Youtube portion of the card against Harper, also there are 5 title fights this weekend too. One fight has Eurasian Uzbek Murodjon Akhmadaliev who is a very talented fighter in the 122 pound division.https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_...tle-fights-same-night-worth-watching-here-why

Updating the bout from last night and the Argentine of distant German extraction seemed to rally and out work his Black American prospect opponent. Schramm will probably get another prospect fight on American television and earn hard currency, it's too early to tell if he is a future contender or a decent B side gate keeper.

Now is a good time as ever to do the Saturday round up... On the DAZN card I missed this contender and unbeaten WBA #1 rated super welterweight Israil Madrimov won a lop sided decision on the Youtube portion of the DAZN card a authorized copy of the fight is on Youtube. He is a mandatory contender for the WBA title which is held by Charlo but the WBA has various regular champions when unified or undisputed champions hold their belts. I am as confused as any casual fan would be about what belt he will eventual fight for...

Not White but Eurasian former unified 122 pound champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev was outhustled by Filipino Marlon Taples and lost a bizarre decision with divergent score cards. Taples shaded two cards and the Uzbek won a wide decision on the other. It probably boiled down to what style the judges liked better as the Uzbek brought power but low volume but the Filipino brought boxing and high volume a rematch would seem to be in order.

Swedish national Anthony Yigit received a mercy stoppage against talented US Olympian Keyshawn Davis. Yigit while dropped in the 8th round from a body shot was rolling with punches in the 9th round when the referee stopped the fight but at that point had probably lost every round and wasn't demonstrating any ability but the ability to soak up punishment.

Note Yigit is partially Turkish, Russian and another European ancestry so I counted him as White and aside from his non Swedish name you wouldn't know that he was partially Asiatic.

Damian Knyba made veteran trial horse Curtis Harper quit late in their bout. I have no idea how he looked in the bout as I missed this one but according to the ESPN reporter it was a quality performance for a novice at this level of boxing. As I stated before Harper is a full level better than the typical B side Eastern European cannon fodder opponent.

PS on a humorous side note the mystery was solved when it came to the Fondura chin as he was felled like a Redwood tree in his WBC interim title defense

This fight could be a tune up to a rumored 4 man super tournament with Fury vs Usyk in the 1 and 1a bracket and Wilder and Joshua in the 2 and 2a bracket and the two winners would meet in the final.

I will believe it when I see it as various tournaments in the heavyweight division have failed because various star fighters had better money making options and opted out of these proposed tournaments. One thing working in the favor of this tournament is that the Saudi's are the biggest players in boxing at the moment so no one can offer more money then they do at the moment.

PS this weekend has no White fighters in marquee matchups and only a few diamond in the rough and B side fighters are fighting on the Joyce vs Zhang card. Joyce vs Zhang could be an all action donnybrook while it lasts as it matches the proverbial puncher vs chin matchup and the two combatants resemble Bond henchmen.

Dr. No's henchmen stopped Drax's henchman in a pier 6 brawl as the referee stopped the fight in the 6th round under the advice of the ringside physician. Joyce looked like starched mummy as he always does but this time he couldn't drain the energy of his opponent with his granite chin.

Sam Noakes went to 11 and 0 and dominated and stopped a 10 and 0 Indian national in a lightweight bout but this could have a big question mark as Indian pro boxers fight in maybe the worst bubble in the world. The Indian fighters resumes have to be questioned similar to a tank town fighters record in the American circuit.

PS Zhang has given options to Warren for his interim WBO title fight so his bargaining power could be muted off of this upset. Time is of the essence as he turns 40 soon and any protracted legal battles over opponents and purses could pour cold water over this upset. The first rumor to emerge after this win was a possible Fury clash in July...

Boxing schedule for Saturday. The Babic fight should be explosive. Garcia vs Davis should be a good fight, but you never know until the bell rings.

Boxing schedule for Saturday. The Babic fight should be explosive. Garcia vs Davis should be a good fight, but you never know until the bell rings.

Babic can only be in explosive fights as we have stated before his fighting style reminds me over former undersized Mulatto fringe contender Jeremy Williams. It's kill or be killed, so far nobody has timed him to flatten him but he was badly wobbled by a French cannon fodder opponent but he recovered and out hustled the professional opponent. I have no clue about the abilities of the Pole but the Pole has a decent promoter behind him so he should be at world level for this gypsy division.

This fight is on Sky Sports in England but I have no clue if this is being picked up by a North American broadcaster.

As for Davis vs Garcia this should be bombs away at some point. Garcia should protect his chin and box Davis on the outside and land a bomb he doesn't see at some point in the fight if he is to win. Tank for his physical limitations understands distance and seems to be always calculating for one homerun shot but eventually there is a night where the shot doesn't happen.

PS the promoters have described this as the "fight to save boxing". I think it's bigger than it would be because the heavyweight stars just won't fight each other unless the Saudi type purses are involved. This attitude has seeped into other divisions too as the top welterweights won't fight each other for similar reasons. Traditionally lightweights don't carry boxing and catchweight bouts don't save boxing so the two fighters are benefitting from a void in big fights to capture the publics full attention.

Both fighters have 8 figure guarantees with Tanks' minimum purse higher than Garcia.

PS 2 I missed this one but competing against the Babic card in Poland is an English card headlined by Eurasian Shavkatdzhon Rakhmiov vs Joe Cordina. Cordina was forced to vacate his belt due to a hand injury and Rakhmiov fought for the vacant belt and destroyed Afro-Brit Zelfa Barrett.

Hearn was looking to match Barrett vs Cordina for the IBF 130 pound belt but the Tajik fighter upset the apple cart with the violent ko of Barrett. This is a tough assignment for Cordina as the Tajik national has a draw with Jo-Jo Diaz for the same belt in a fight he arguably won and seemed to surge late as Diaz faded after a tough weight cut cost him his belt on the scales.

Not so interested in this although Davis' lower skill and high power might create an interesting outcome.

Well so much for the Savage as he was flattened similar to Jeremy Williams back in the day when he challenged for the WBO heavyweight belt. Savage was never able to get his equilibrium and was wobbled and dropped and then cornered and the referee stopped the fight probably slightly prematurely but it was a matter of time before a more emphatic stoppage.

This could be the high water mark for his career but he will be a fun fighter if he decides to fight on as he only knows how to attack.

In the Joe Cordina vs Shavkatdzhon Rakhmiov title fight we witnessed a savage brawl that was a split decision for the Welsh fighter. He dropped his Tajik opponent and at times had him on the verge of stoppage but the tough Eurasian kept on roaring back and had the Welsh fighter in trouble near the end of the fight. A rematch would be fair to the gallant ex-champion.

In the ppv main event Gervonta "Tank" Davis tko'd Ryan Garcia with one liver shot. Garcia staggered back and took a voluntary knee and then seemed to want to take the full 10 count on his knee.

It seemed like Garcia was out of his depth skill wise and was caught trying to rough up Davis in the 2nd round and was hit with a vicious counterpunch that sprawled him on the mat. The next 3 rounds Tank seemed win the rounds on intimidation. Garcia woke up in the 6th round and won that round with power punches and had the Mexican American crowd behind him. But then at the midpoint in the 7th round Davis landed the liver shot and that was that.

Garcia can come again as he only soon to be 25 but he needs better defense to beat elite counterpunchers like Davis or a Loma(if he is still in his prime).

PS the undercard had a few White prospect and I may report on their bouts tomorrow.

On the Youtube portion of the Davis vs Garcia card Vito Mielnicki, Jr pounded a Mexican national named Jose Charles. I admittedly watched this fight in spurts as it was on at the same time the Cordina war was being broadcast so my eyes were on the other bout with just glances at this one, but Mielnicki seemed to rock Charles to his socks with power shots before the inevitable stoppage.

Being that he is soon to be 21 years old he will probably be matched with similar opponents until PBC matchmakers deem the risk worth the reward for tougher opponents than a Charles type.

Also on the card Polish national Fedor Czerkaszyn ground down his opponent with a 9th round tko as his opponent turned his back and surrendered late in the bout at that point it was one way traffic. Similar to Vito M. we will need a step up to name competition before I can tell if he is more than a diamond in the rough prospect.

Finally Eurasian Bek "the Bully" Melikuziev pounded a wide decision over game veteran Gabriel Rosado. There was no highlight reel ko this time for the PR veteran as the Uzbek national didn't charge in for the kill and just out boxed Rosado from the outside while sporadically mixing it up in the veterans punching range.

While not as exciting as his previous kill or be killed style having this style will lengthen his career and give him a better chance of getting into world title contention in the deep 168 pound division.

White is Right, I hope you got to see Vadim Musaev fight on ProBox. He is a welterweight boxer from Russia with huge power. He knocked out Martin Alvarez with one punch. He is 6-0 with 6 kos. ProBox is free on youtube with fights on Weds. nights.
Did you notice the socks the Polish boxer had on? They were up to his knees, I don't I've ever seen that before.

No I missed that fight and have never seen a Pro Box card less a heavyweight fight or so (I think Trey Lippe Morrison was on a pro box card).

Saturday I missed most of the prospect fights or saw them without sound as other sports were on my television and I watched the fights on my computer.

The Balkanization of boxing is starting to get very bad now for the fans as one of the selling points for the Saturday ppv. fight was the stars were crossing networks and promoters to make the fight. On Saturday we had two British promotions during the day and earlier in the month we had 3 American cards at once. How is the average fan supposed to see these fights?

I just listened to some of the stuff he said, and became a Teofimo Lopez fan. Don't get me wrong, I don't want him to win, but I appreciate him telling the truth about blacks. I hope more people step out and do this. US blacks are the most coddled people in the history of the world. Ward and Bradley are both biases Pieces OS.

Ryder fights Canelo saturday.
Yes it's a long shot challenge for the gallant Brit. He is a 18 to 1 dog and will need to beat the tar out of Alvarez to earn a decision or stop him of course to win.

This is a ppv which is shocking but then again Fury vs Chisora II was ppv that nobody thought was a ppv but the greedy network executives. It seems like if the tv executives view a boxer as a star it doesn't matter who they fight is a ppv promotion.

Also during the day Pawel Stepien fights Joshua Buatsi as the b side opponent on the new British promotional company of Boxxer. Similar to the big fight the Pole will have to beat Buatsi from pillar to post earn a decision.

PS the new promotional company headed by Ben Shalom has shaken up the British fight scene as Hearn has lost quite a few fighters to this promotion. So far I haven't noticed that any White fighters benefitting from Shalom splashing around and setting a new pay grade for British fighters.

Updating the main event Alvarez pounded a probably too wide decision over the tough and game Brit Ryder. At times it looked like Alvarez was about to blow out the plucky Brit but every time Alvarez stepped on the gas Ryder fought back and had Alvarez sucking wind bad late in the fight.

There was a violent knockdown and Ryder had his face bloodied early but he gave as good as he got down the stretch and won rounds IMO.

The Alvarez that fought today isn't beating Bivol with this deliberate attack, plus I don't see how he can bring more to the table at a higher weight.

I may update the other contenders that fought today, tomorrow or Monday.

Updating the other bouts on Saturday on the Boxxer card Pawel Stepien blew his crossroads bout against Joshua Buatsi. He just wasn't willing to engage enough to win a decision. It seemed when he did return fire the fight was exciting and he had a chance to see if Buatsi was going to blow a gasket so to speak, but he was too willing to revert to a sparring partner and was an obvious loser in my eyes and never would win a decision in England against the house fighter.

This is his first loss and he was world ranked if he is to get to the world level and win he may need to come to America or England or at least drop his training team who never got in his face telling him to take the fight to the house fighter.

On the under card of the Alvarez homecoming bout Oleksandr “The Nail” Gvozdyk stopped Richard Bolotniks it's his second fight since he lost his WBC title to Beterbiev it's hard to tell where he is going in this division as the tough Chechen is blocking various contenders from winning world titles. As long as Beterbiev is at or near his peak it's similar to Alvarez and various other undisputed champions in history blocking very good contenders from winning world level belts.

Didn't catch the Ryder fight, interesting that Gvozdyk is back, seems to have 2 fights just this year after being inactive since 2019.
