The scoring was so one sided that even if the referee had scored the second knock down properly Lopez would have eked out a tight a win over the Spaniard.Spaniard Sandor Martin defeated Teofimo Lopez, scoring two knockdowns. But he was robbed on the scorecards by the dodgy officials, and the Top Rank referee didn't count the second knockdown.
The fight was in New York, the home town of Lopez.
Arum was protecting his diminishing asset in Lopez. If Lopez keeps on looking like a flat beer left out in the summer sun he will get thrown to the wolves in a title shot that looks like he doesn't have the boxing ability nor power to win.
