mike hass is doomed :(

Well, that didn't last long, did it? Just read that Mike Hass has been released from the Bears' practice squad. The way they keep these white players twisting in the wind cannot just be coincidence. With all the horrific wide receivers in the NFL, and on top of that the way they are incredibly injury prone, how can a fantastically accomplished college WR like Hass never have appeared in even one regular season game in this league?

All the while, complete bums like loud-mouth, all-talk Jerry Porter get signed to huge offseason contracts. The most hilarious part is they never pan out with their new teams. The incredibly injured Porter (who never even had a 1000 yard season) now has 1 CATCH FOR 6 YARDS!

Please note: Literally ANY human being could do that! While this worthless little pr*ck is spending his millions (most likely in a strip bar) actual WR's like Mike Hass are getting cut from lowly practice squads. Only in America.

And the madness continues.... Just read where the Bears have resigned Hass to their practice squad. Is this some kind of joke? Why the constant yo-yo movements back and forth from a simple practice squad? Is it really that crucial to constantly adjust the members of your practice squad? This almost qualifies as yet another form of harassment against this very talented player.

It also shows that not one other team in the league is interested in signing Hass despite all the teams with weak receiving corps. Very sad and pathetic that this kind of racism can be exercised with impunity.

I think the simple explanation in my eyes for this horrible treatment would be to demoralize the player to the point of quiting the NFL. They would love to see Hass leave for the CFL or arena league. By releasing a guy so often he practically has to live out of a hotel room and suitcase. Guys can only live like this for so long before they say "f this sh*t" I have a family to support and a life to live.

This is why I much prefer College Football, the Arena League, or Hockey. Lovie Smith has tested my support of the Bears in every possible way. Even Jerry Angelo couldn't believe Hass never played last season, particularly at the end.

Maybe the Pats or Colts will give him a shot somewhere down the road, we can only hope.

Here's a little tidbit I found on Hass, who is now trying to make the Seahawks. Post-Holmgren maybe he'll have a slightly better chance.

In closing, I asked the scout about what he thought of former OSU wide receiver Mike Hass' chances of sticking with the Seattle Seahawks. Hass was drafted by New Orleans in 2006, released, spent that year on the Bears practice squad, made their 53-man roster in 2007, and then in 2008 was released before being brought back to the practice squad once again. Now he's with Seattle, which is loaded at wide receiver but does have some unproven pieces Hass can compete with.

"From behind the scenes I'm cheering for him," the scout said. "He needs a little bit more of a shot and opportunity. Hopefully his confidence isn't beaten up."

Hass has been dogged by his lack of elite speed and quickness. But while with Chicago, teammates raved about his hands and consistency. Still, the Bears, who arguably had the worst set of receivers in the league last season, never gave Hass a chance in a regular season game.

The scout still believes Hass could have a role in the NFL and compared him to possession receivers, Philadelphia's Jason Avant and Arizona's Jerheme Urban.

"I still feel like he can play," the scout said.

BTW, Lovie Smith is now proclaiming Earl Bennett and Devin Hester as the Bears two starting WRs. Good luck to Kyle Orten or whoever is the quarterback for that team. Smith is an idiot.

Also: "possession" receiver Urban's career stats in the NFL are 69/1045 for a 15.1 average yards per catchto go with7 TDs. Randy Moss's career yards per reception average -- 15.7.Edited by: Don Wassall

Lovie Smith has to be one of the most incompitent coaches I have ever seen. Every game, he just stands on the sidelines with a stupid look on his face. I have never seen him talk into his headset before.

The Bears have among the worst players in the league at WR and they have the most inept coach in the NFL. Wait till my wife hears about this newest brainless move.

I was about to jump in when I saw Urban being described as a possession receiver. In fact from what i have seen of him I think Urban has only average (by NFL standards) catching ability, but has good size and speed. But you beat me to it, and I see you looked up his impressive Yards Per Catch stat.

It's highly likely that Mike Hass's football career is over.

Theoretically he could still make a comeback because he's only 29. It's a shame he never got a fair chance because of racism.
