That’s a great picture WL! It’s great to see both parents are trim and fit as well. I’m sure their family prioritizes healthy eating and an active lifestyle. Boling should be proud that he has dominated in a sport that is clearly prejudice towards whites. I think boxing is like this quite a bit too. Probably why we don’t see more white Americans champions.

Wile, Boling runs very relaxed in his upper body which is wonderful to see in such a young sprinter. Doing alot of 400's teaches you to relax otherwise you tighten up badly. Having a relaxed torso while sprinting allows your breathing to remain even and full.

It's extemely rare to see a kid with Usain Bolt like talent yet he is the nicest, kindest, and most humble athlete I've seen in 4 or 5 decades. What a nice change!

Someone may have posted this interview already, but I just saw it so am putting it up. It is insightful in that he said he shut down towards the end of his recent 10.13. He felt he did not place first in the long jump because of the way it was scheduled in between 100s, and he is hoping for PBs at the upcoming Pan American Games Juniors.

I have no doubt if this NFL fastest man competition had been over 100 meters if Boling had a wild card entry he would have been the favorite among knowledgeable track bettors. I never thought in my life time that I would see an white american sprinter over 100 & 200 meters with the racial slotting being even worse in track
than on the football fields or even on the basketball courts. Boling wasn't supposed to be the one. He was another 400 meter guy who ran relays and
also did the long jump. Well with a rare opportunity to run the short sprints he shocked his coach, teammates and eventually the world!

I'm so happy right now. His consistancy is amazing for a guy in his first full year of running the short (100 & 200 meters) sprints. He is a phenom and if
Georgia doesn't keep him in the 100 & 200 he should decommit. I hope they are smart enough to see that he is becoming a household name already. The
kid was born to be a sprinter! Congrats Matthew Boling!

I think flotrack.org has rights to the video. Hopefully for the non paying track fanatics they will release the video footage tommorow. They want to make money and I can understand
that but I have to see this video. One thing huge about this race is it was in a foreign country against sprinters from the caribbean and yet he still didn't crack under pressure. This kid is
as mentally tough as he is physically gifted!

Thanks for Infos guys .....absolutely phenomenol ...this guy is the truth ....what a talent ...and as said above ...mentally strong ....after a full year in college Matthew will go 9.9s next year ..no doubt ...there will be a lot of pressure on his coaches in Georgia " not to break him " ....I would even suggest that his present coach at Jesuit should have an input ... But somehow I think the fact that Matthew is so mentally tough , that not much will phase him and he has a solid family background ..

Lemaitre ran 10.04 at the age of 19. Boling is 10.11. But I rate their talent as about equal. Boling has only been running the 100m for a year and so has had less experience and opportunities than Lemaitre did.
However, I can already say that I believe Boling is much tougher and stronger mentally than Lemaitre. Also he seems much more motivated and dedicated than Lemaitre. He loves track. He has dreamed about running in the Olympics. He trains very hard and happily takes advice from 'legends' like Ato Bolden. He looks forward to competition.
Lemaitre, on the other hand, seems a reluctant star. Like he only runs because he is good at it, not because he likes it or wants to. He shies away from competition, doesn't seem to train hard, and isolates himself training and coaching wise, in the little town of Aix-le-Bains.
Two big talents, with completely different approaches to the sport.

Good assesment but to be fair it's not all Lemaitre's fault. He was bullied for many years growing up and he is your classic introverted shy kid. Boling is more of an extrovert which really helps with your
confidence. Yes if Lemaitre had a more confident personality, he could have been much, much better. Some things boil down to personality. You can only change that so much. I still appreciate Lemattre as he will always be the first white man to go sub 10. He did it multiple times. He also has wind legal bests of 9.92 and 19.80! Incredible times! All I'm saying is give respect to the shy kid for what he did. He also inspired kids around the globe like Tortu who even openly admitted it. Be thankful for Lemaitre.

Back to Boling. If coached right he can be a Noah Lyles like talent. I have no doubt that the sky is the limit. I'm hoping he can p.b. in the 200 this weekend and kick ass in the relays as well. What a season!

Lemaritre to me will always be the most naturally talented sprinter overall (only Bolt supersedes him) that shamefully wasn't developed correctly, but lets forget about that in general, time to move on...Go MATT!
