I only saw one relay race and the coaches got smoked, the anchor for the players was a tight end type with a pony tail or mullet? Am I missing something?

There are two videos at the link. Boling is in the second video. Not sure if this was a wise move by Coach Smart. His black starting safety might need to be on suicide watch after being outrun by a honkey.

Yeah AA, that's what I was kind of thinking and the fact that the safety had a good 5-10 yard head start and still got walked down!

I predict he will win four golds in the 2024 Olympics, 100, 200, 4 x 100 relay and long jump.

Since what I thought was going to be an MVP year for rb Christian MCcaffrey which looks to now have fizzled I am putting my focus more on Boling here. I don't know if he plans on running indoors but if he does I hope he focuses on the 60 meters and 400 meters especially. A kid with a 44.72 split 400 meter relay time and 10.11 100 meter times could probably challenge Wade Van Neikerks 400 record sooner than later. Michael Johnson was a 10.1 100 meter guy and Jeremy Wariner was a 10.6 at best. Boling has the speed to maybe even run sub 43. This really could happen. I don't see him getting to the NCAA finals in the 60 meters indoor if he runs but he could make the semis and probably top out at 6.55. His 10.11 was an average start at best and twice he almost ran out of his lane taking a couple missteps that pushed him sideways. He probably with a better start and runs exactly straight he could potentially run 10.0x right now. As Ato Boldon said: " enjoy him because you will not see another like him again for a long time. its the 3rd week of the season and you gave up on McCaffery? LOL!
IMO Boling's strength will be more at the 100, and more so in the 200

Is it just me, but it appeared that after Matthew had checked each way to see the lead he had, he backed off the gas a little?

NFL hypocrites talking "player safety" yet demanding these stupid Thursday Night games. Players have come out & said "their bodies are not ready so soon". Most of these early week games have been UGLY! Blessing in disquise last week for McCaffrey that night for his long term health & grind of the season. He answered today with 153 yards rushing (76 yard TD run!)

Thanksgiving should be the ONLY Thursday games

Anyone here know if Matthew has chosen a major at college?
Georgia

NICE VIDEO (previous page) of Boling running down the UGA Football player(starting DB Richard LeCounte) at practice on the anchor leg of the relay; blew past him with ease

here’s Boling’s 200m run in the SEC Indoor Championships this year. he’s obviously talented, and you can see his frustration at not running a faster time after he finishes his race. he’s clearly putting in a LOT of work (he’s visibly thicker in his upper body than he was just six months ago), and as his body adjusts i expect him to blossom fully.

to those who still insist he should run the 400, i’m curious what a “real” short sprinter would look like ... i mean, with his virtually raw numbers at the shorter distances (remember, before he exploded as a high school senior, he hadn’t run the 100m since he was a seventh grader), one would think his untapped potential would make him the ideal 100m candidate to revolutionize the sport. but what do i know?

what I do not like about College/University programs is they throw you onto this insane weight training programs which can cause alot of injuries and takes at least 2 years to grow into speed wise if at all. I believe more in speed training to get faster which builds muscle as well. BUT that is just my philosophy. I think he should keep training the 400m as part of his 100/200m program.

watched the replay a few times and I suspect he was far to nervous and tight. His form was raggedy right from the start, he was trying too hard and not allowing himself to relax. Not a fan of the closed hands whilst sprinting. All that being said, this kid is gonna explode....

Yes, he looked tight and straining.

Regarding Boling and the 400m, I think he should keep training for the event because it makes him stronger for the 100m and 200m.
It really worked for him in high school
I've noticed that recently, some of the very best white sprinters were training for other, strength events and it helped them with their sprinting.
Specifically Dafne Schippers was a pentathlete when she broke onto the scene as a sprinter. A couple of years into training for the 100m/200m, her performances fell off.
Athlete of the Year, Karsten Warholm, was training as a decathlete, when he broke onto the scene as a 400m/400mH guy.
And Matthew Boling trained for the 400m, and became the fastest HS 100m guy ever.
So it does seem, that training for strength/endurance has great benefits for some white sprinters.

Check this video out from yesterday in practice. Yes this is practice and he almost cleared the whole sand pit. Matthew Boling is an amazing athlete who is only scratching the surface of what he
is capable of. The kid only a freshman in college. This kid will explode unto the national scene in a even bigger way in 2021! I still would prefer that he sticks to the 100, 200 meters and the relay. That
is far more important to most people than who jumps the farthest!
