My recollection is that Riley Cooper was invisible last year until Nick Foles took over. Vick was busy targeting Desean Jackson. However, if Decker is the best option, I expect Vick to be able to get the ball downfield more effectively than Smiff.

Jimmy Clausen is still a free agent. For a team looking for QB help Clausen would be a good option.

Clausen had promise but was stuck behind Cam Newton in Carolina after a bad rookie season. Many players improve dramatically after a bad rookie season.

Clausen would fit well in a WCO. He's had four year's experience as a pro. He could provide depth or even compete for a starting job.

A team looking for quarterback help would be smart to give Clausen a shot.

Jared Allen to the Bears for 4 years. Glad he will be around for awhile longer.

Great news! Allen is my favorite defensive player.

Even ESPN had to admit that Allen is an upgrade over Peppers, based on their last 4 years production. Both have played 64 games, but Allen has 56.5 sacks to Peppers' 37.5.

Great stat! I remember when Peppers came out of college. That guy was hyped up as the next big thing.

Well with the ousting of Gerhart, Carlson, and now Allen, Minnesota certainly has lost it's status as a team to root for from a caste perspective in a predictably quick fashion. They were just flying too close to the sun.

Only Allen was a starter. The Vikings are still up there with New England and Philadelphia as the three least black dominated teams in the league, at least at this point.

Let's see what shakes out. This is a team that actually drafted two palefaces in the 1st round a couple of years ago, and neither of them are a QB. They actually have white players on defense, and probably still will with Allen gone. I'm hoping for the best.

Decker to the Jets is bad news as far as I'm concerned.
Geno Smith is perhaps the worst passer I've ever seen - seriously. Michael Vick is okay, but he might not even start. And if he does, it's only a matter of time until he's injured again.
Meanwhile Rex Ryan is a fool.
So I think Decker's star will fall....he won't catch as many passes or get the recognition he had in Denver.

Desean Jackson was cut by the Eagles today, good news for Riley Cooper. Maybe Jared Abredderis gets drafted by the Eagles - not holding my breath but it could be a possibility.

This is fantastic news for Riley Cooper, and also for Zach Ertz.

Cal must be very proud of having such a wonderful alum as DeSean Jackson, but he'll have plenty of NFL suitors, it would be surprising if he isn't signed within 48 hours.

This was posted by Weenieworld right before he was cut:

The Newark Star-Ledger reports DeSean Jackson's off-field behavior, particularly his connection to a Los Angeles street gang, is the Eagles' chief concern and main reason they're entertaining trading or releasing him. Jackson has a problem with missing team meetings, and the Eagles reportedly believe his friends are becoming a powerful, negative influence. The team is "concerned about having [Jackson] around the younger players." Jackson has become close with a man named Theron Shakir, a member of the Crips and one of two men charged in the murder of a 14-year-old rival gang member. The Eagles simply don't want to wake up to an Aaron Hernandez situation one morning. Jackson has very likely played his last down for the Eagles.

The NFL may not only "wake up to an Aaron Hernandez situation one morning," but there may be another O.J. Simpson (this June marks the 20th anniversary) situation one of these days.

I'm happy for Cooper, but at the same time it's sad that it has to come to something like this for a white WR to get more looks.

With black TE, Ed Dickson, unlikely to re-sign with Baltimore, the Ravens' top two TE's will now be Dennis Pitta and Owen Daniels. From ESPN...

The Baltimore Ravens have added another weapon on offense.
NFL Media's Aditi Kinkhabwala reported Thursday that tight end Owen Daniels and the Ravens have agreed to terms on a deal, according to a source apprised of the negotiations. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported the agreement is for one year, and the team later confirmed the news.

Shockingly, all four TE's on the Raven's depth chart (Pitta, Daniels, Furstenburg, and Overbay) are now white. They don't seem likely to re-sign Dallas Clark, who had some success with the squad in 2013. Hopefully, Clark will sign elsewhere and not retire.

I hate this signing for several reasons:

1. Daniels is a starting caliber TE; now he's a back-up to Pitta.

2. He and Pitta now have to share touches, meaning neither will put up huge numbers.

3. Adding Daniels will delay the development of Furstenburg, who is a more than adequate #2 TE.

4. There are still a number of TE needy team out there. I just would have preferred to see him sign with Green Bay, Chicago or maybe the Rams...

Bears sign Brian de la Puente for a minimum salary one-year deal. He's to be the backup behind Roberto Garza. Maybe he'll have a good year and it will lead to a better contract in 2105.

To go from a starter to...that. Ugh. De La Puente is absolutely worthy of being a starting center.

I know you meant 2015 but maybe in 2105 the NFL will be majority white again, in a shrunken and paler USA that's released its darker states.

Patriots sign LB Josh Hull. Expected to be a special teams performer. Better than nothing, I guess.

Bad News.. Jags three year starter at OLB Russell Allen has retired after apparently suffering an on field stroke in the season finale last season.

Saw that as well. Him and poz made up a good LB corp on ab otherwise ****ty defense. Sad to see he was starting to come into his own!

Glad to see slot receiver T.J. Moe land somewhere. The Rams have alot of overrated and under-preforming wideouts so with a good camp and pre-season he's got a chance.

Rams signed WR T.J. Moe, formerly of the Patriots.

Moe, 23, was a priority UDFA signing by New England last April, but tore his Achilles' just under one year ago and spent his rookie season on injured reserve. The slot receiver and Mizzou alum will be a long shot in St. Louis.
