Not only is Decker's decision mindless in terms of WHO he signed with, he gave them a bargain rate deal as well. I didn't realize how bad the money was until the immortal Golden Tate signed a deal with the Lions, obviously a much better spot for any WR.
How did Tate get only $2 million less guaranteed money and $4 million less overall on a similar five year deal? Tate's career has paled in comparison with Decker's. How did Decker agree to such a deal, with the worst team possible, when he (or at least his agent) should have been aware of what the market was paying?
The Colts, meanwhile, another great team for any WR, quickly snatched up Hakeem Nicks the day after Decker signed with the Jets. I know they'd been mentioned as showing interest in Decker, as were the Lions. Do you mean to tell me the Lions wouldn't have paid Decker the same amount the Jets did, when they gave Golden Tate only a tiny bit less?
From every aspect, Decker signing with the Jets is the worst decision any player has ever made in the history of this criminal league.
