I was doing some research on Keith Poole yesterday. He was a big star at Arizona State and was beginning to become one in the NFL. In 1999, his third season, Poole wasn't officially a starter but was used enough by the Saints to record a 42/796/6 line, his 19 yards per reception ranking second in the league, and Poole was named the team's most valuable offensive player. His coach was Mike Ditka, one of the fairer head coaches to White players with the Saints and Bears. But the next season Ditka was replaced by the loathsome Jim Haslet, who immediately conducted a racial purge (including installing Aaron Brooks at quarterback).
In Poole's own words, this is what happened next: "The first thing (new coach Haslett) said to me was, 'We want you to take pay cut. You're making too much for a No. 3 guy,' " Poole said. "I was the team's offensive MVP the year before. I'm thinking, 'I haven't even met you yet and this is what you're saying?' " http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/fo...e-finds-happiness-outside-ruthless-nfl.30292/ Poole had just 21 receptions in 2000, then in '01 ended up with Denver where he had only 5 catches, then was out of the league for good, a total screwing of a great talent.
Haslet has to rank right up there with Black Jack Del Rio in any list of the most anti-White coaches. He played at a small school (Indiana U. of Pennsylvania) but carved out a nice career in the NFL as a linebacker. Yet he had no sympathy for the underdog when he was White.
Here's a 12 second clip of Poole scoring a long touchdown. I don't know what his official 40 time was, but he was very fast running on a football field.
