For argument's sake - White NFL Players with 4.3 Speed

I was doing some research on Keith Poole yesterday. He was a big star at Arizona State and was beginning to become one in the NFL. In 1999, his third season, Poole wasn't officially a starter but was used enough by the Saints to record a 42/796/6 line, his 19 yards per reception ranking second in the league, and Poole was named the team's most valuable offensive player. His coach was Mike Ditka, one of the fairer head coaches to White players with the Saints and Bears. But the next season Ditka was replaced by the loathsome Jim Haslet, who immediately conducted a racial purge (including installing Aaron Brooks at quarterback).

In Poole's own words, this is what happened next: "The first thing (new coach Haslett) said to me was, 'We want you to take pay cut. You're making too much for a No. 3 guy,' " Poole said. "I was the team's offensive MVP the year before. I'm thinking, 'I haven't even met you yet and this is what you're saying?' " http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/fo...e-finds-happiness-outside-ruthless-nfl.30292/ Poole had just 21 receptions in 2000, then in '01 ended up with Denver where he had only 5 catches, then was out of the league for good, a total screwing of a great talent.

Haslet has to rank right up there with Black Jack Del Rio in any list of the most anti-White coaches. He played at a small school (Indiana U. of Pennsylvania) but carved out a nice career in the NFL as a linebacker. Yet he had no sympathy for the underdog when he was White.

Here's a 12 second clip of Poole scoring a long touchdown. I don't know what his official 40 time was, but he was very fast running on a football field.

I remember watching this kid and he was very talented. So fast and he had excellent hands. He reminded
me a little of Ricky Proehl. When Proehl was with the AZ Cardinals, they used to call him "Rock N Roll Ricky Proehl".

Both of these guys were run to watch and could have had much more productive careers. Proehl played longer and was treated a little better overall though to be fair.

Cool thread! Unfortunately I don't remember a lot of these guys as I was a young buck barely ten when Poole and Jeffers were tearing up coal black NFL secondaries in late 90s.

Classic statement by Grade A caste whore Jim Hasslett. Guy's a real douche, like Del Rio he has no sympathy for plight of white athlete, despite themselves being white athletes and working their way up to position of power as a coach! Self hating anti whites are just about the worst of worst. It's sad how many of or guys get their careers derailed purely because of their skin color. It should be about who can get the job done the best, but it's not.

Proehl was a real pro! Always enjoyed watching him. His son Austin is pretty talented as well. Not as big as Ricky but great route runner, and hands. He played Great against tough Stanford Defense yesterday. Another white WR to keep an eye on next year! His role should increase as Switzer heads to league.

The fastest and most explosive Player I ever saw has got to be Sam McGuffie. Not just the most explosive white guy, but most explosive player regardless of color period. His high school highlights were out of this world. Then he went to Michigan and got fazed out, probably because he was white. I just can't believe somebody like him could not make the NFL

I take it back. My Iowa guy whose name I forget off the top off my head is second I believe. White wr and totally casted in the NFL Oregon's Jeff Maehl holds the record. Braxton Berrios is the Miami receiver.

Tim Dwight? He also ran a 10.3 in the 100 meters & 6.8 in the 60 meters.

Could have been Dwight. Kevin Kasper was another freaky fast white wideout from Iowa!

If this guy is on the list and I missed him, please accept my apologies. I remember a guy named Doug "white lightning" Donley as he was called by both his Ohio State teammates and the name stuck when he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the early 80's. A standout football player at Ohio State, Donley went on to a short career in the NFL because of chronic hamstring and shoulder injuries. He did average over 20 yards a catch in 1984. It was reported that he consistently ran 4.3, 40 times at Ohio State!

Vinny Sutherland out of Purdue was another white speedster I vaguely remember watching back in the late 90s/early 00s right before my proper racial awakening.

How did the 40 become the speed determination standard BTW? If you look at 10 and 20 speed, whites are generally faster. In fact I believe that the Patriots value those stats and cone drills much more than the 40.

McGuffie transferred out of Michigan to Rice after his true freshman season despite leading the team in carries. He put up decent numbers for some bad Rice teams, but dealt with some injuries and eventually couldn't get past the practice squads in just one year with the NFL. Obviously a very gifted athlete - McGuffie competed in just about every track and field event during his college career (his pro day 40 time was 4.32). After pro football didn't work out, he's since moved on to olympic bobsledding and professional rugby.

I don't remember exactly if the timing of his injuries was a legitimate factor in his NFL snubbing, but that's eventually where he hit the wall as a fast white guy (not in college).

I used to love Tim Dwight's TD celebration. So much white talent wasted in the NFL for overhyped afleets that never amounted to anything.

Kevin Curtis (as a member of the Rams) was once playing in a game against the Panthers on Fox. Curtis scored a long TD, showing electrifying speed. Troy Aikman remarked that he had spoken to Mike Martz prior to the game that Martz told him that "Kevin Curtis is the fastest WR I've ever seen." I believe he said this during a broadcast in 2005 or 2006.

Curtis ran a hand-timed 4.21 40 and a 4.35 40 at the combine.

The big difference is that size with speed we see in the black athletes. So many of them are 225 pounds and can run or 6-3 and can motor. We don't really see that in others.

Not sure about 4.3 but am sure they had great speed.

John Roderick 9.3 100 yards SMU
Lance Alworth Arkansas 9.6 I think
Hugh "The King" McElhenny HS hurdles champ
"Jaguar' Jon Arnett placed in the NCAA long jump
Jerry Tarr the top ranked hurdler in the world,
Richmond Flowers world ranked hurdler

Avante. I went back and looked at the last 10 NFL combines. There were four guys that weighed 225 or more and ran 4.39 or better.

Those four are. Shaquem Griffin, Knile Davis, Mario Fanin, and Josh Barrett. The jury is still out on Griffin but the other 3 really did nothing in the NFL. So not only are there very few guys who did what you claim but they aren't really good at football either.

Olympic sprinter Ollie Matson a HOF RB in the early 50's was around 220 pounds, then here came big Jim Brown. NCAA 100 champ/Rams WR Bob Boyd was around 220 pounds.

Herschel Walker, Marcus Dupree, Bo Jackson, Todd Gurley, Homer Jones, all big and fast. We just don't see big fast white guys. Tall and fast like Randy Moss, Usain Bolt, Tommie Smith, Calvin Johnson.

I''m trying to figue out what is really going on here. I like everybody else else thinks white athletes get a raw deal but I can't just ignore things. I've already been compared to some guy for some reason.....?

Todd Gurley didn't run at the Combine or his pro day so I don't know what his real speed is.

Matt Jones ran a 4.37 at 6-6 242 at the Combine in 2005. I can see that he was a big, fast white guy.

Gurley ws a HS track star, a state champion in the hurdles. And remember he returned kickoffs

My thing with black people is how the father bails on his kids, that sucks. And how unfair it is to white athletes to be thought of as lesser. But........I can't pretend we don't see some great black athletes, which seems to be a no no here.

If you want to celebrate the athletic achievements of blacks, then this site probably isn't for you.
