I've heard "boy" used many a'times, but not "brown boy". I've heard a cache of other terminology though.

BTW, I'd say Neocon/RINO Jindal was a "rubyknoggin", "cobra-charmer" or "dot"!

According to the UFC page on Yahoo Sports, Strikeforce has inked a TV deal with CBS to carry live fights over network TV. The first fight scheduled is the Nov 7 bout between Fedor and Rogers. If I actually get to watch that fight for free, Wow!

Update: Fedor-Rogers Meet Nov. 7 on CBS

Thursday, September 17, 2009
by Loretta Hunt (lhunt@sherdog.com)

Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers will face off in a heavyweight main event for Strikeforce on Nov. 7 on CBS. A venue for the event is still to be announced, however ESPN.com and Sherdog.com have both learned from multiple sources that the Sears Centre Arena in Chicago has emerged as the frontrunner for the event. The Sears Centre Arena holds 11,800 seats and has hosted IFL events in the past.

Strikeforce announced the event on Thursday. The CBS Corporation owns premium pay channel Showtime, which has a multi-year broadcast deal with Strikeforce.

The bout will be the first of three for Emelianenko, the world's top-ranked heavyweight, with the promotion and will mark his first bout in a cage.

The event also marks the return of mixed martial arts to the major television network. CBS broadcasted EliteXC "Heat"Â￾ in October 2008 and garnered nearly 5 million viewers.

"There's no question this is a sport that is fast becoming a force in popularity and as a business," said Kelly Kahl, Senior Executive Vice President, Prime Time, CBS Television. "We're excited to be the platform that will enable millions more to see the athlete regarded as the very best in his sport. The Number One heavyweight on the most-watched network has a very nice ring to it."

Emelianenko, 33, headlined two U.S. events for Affliction Entertainment in July 2008 and January 2009 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif, where he bested former UFC champions Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski.

Rogers, 29, knocked out then top-three heavyweight Arlovski in a shocking 22 seconds at a Strikeforce event last June.

Strikeforce will also continue with plans to promote a Challengers event on Nov. 6 at the SaveMart Center in Fresno, Calif., Strikefroce CEO Scott Coker confirmed to Sherdog.com Thursday. It will be the first time the promotion has held back-to-back events.

To be honest. Not to sound to much like a sorrow monger, I see Rodgers koing Fedor. I hope I am wrong on this. But the complete and utter dominance in the UFC by black and Brazillian fighters over white fighters leads me to believe that the momentum is 100% in their favor. Like I said, I hope I am wrong. But I have witnessed white fighter after white fighter get wrecked by their black and mestizo adversaries.

Guess you just missed the main event of Ultimate Fight Night three days ago. Melvin Guillard was choked out by Nate Diaz.

What is in Rogers resume beside being mahogany coloured that would lead you to think he can ko the GOAT of MMA? I don't get this Aussie. Maybe the swarthy tans of the Brazilians have you fooled they are Caucasians of predominately Portugese descent. Belfor and the guy that dominated an old and shot Cro Cop are both white.

Though i wouldnt class Belfort as white, hes not Black or Mullatto either so hes not distinctly non white.Hes kind of like a white guy with darker skin, similar in many ways to Henderson or Machida.Dos Santos definately appears to be white.

Fedor will demolish Rogers in a bout so one sided that questions will arise post fight regarding his level of competition and why he decided to sign with Strikeforce and not the UFC.Arlovski gave Fedor problems with his power, hand speed, size, footwork, elusiveness and takedown defence.Rogers only has size and power, not posessing anywhere near the fundamental boxing technique of the big man from Belarus. He dosnt have the body type to outbox Fedor and keep him on the outside. His only chance is to move inside and swing for the fences but that will only open him up for the takedown or right hand counters. This will probably be similar to the Goodridge with Rogers lasting longer than Sylvia but taking taking some hard hits on the feet before being taken down and either pounded out or subbed.

if there is such a thing as a light skinned black, then there is such a thing as a dark skinned white person.

Damian Maia I'd consider a White Brazillian, and Belfort is more Amer-indian...but seems to be close to White.

Iron, good analysis on the superior boxing ability (and athletism) of AA (vs. "The Grim"). AA has a weak chin, and got caught with a lucky shot. Fedor has heavier hands & an iron chin (+ better ground/sambo game).Edited by: DixieDestroyer

I hope my doubts about this fight didn't contribute to Aussie's predictions. But I'm still worried about this fight. I hope Fedor subs Rogers in the first two minutes.

New here.

Arlovksi underestimated Rogers. That was his downfall. Fedor won't. I see this fight looking awfully similar to the Fedor/Sylvia bout.

Strasser, welcome to CF! Good analysis on AA's looking past Rogers. Fedor is more humble and crafty than AA. I suspect Fedor takes him to the mat (asap) and subs him. FE will know full well that Rogers will be looking for the big KO, and to avoid the takedown...which he'll not be able to do.

FEDOR is Fighting Rodgers in Primetime on CBS!!! Finally Fedor will have the chance to showcase his talents to a nationwide audience. The fight is set for Saturday night Nov. 7 in Chicago. CBS says it plans an aggressive marketing campaign for the fight and really wants to advertise Fedor and get his name out there. I have so many friends who've never heard about Fedor and think he's some fringe prospect or something. This primetime fight can totally legitimize Fedor as the best in fighter in MMA.

Yessir...the Russian Juggernaut on a U.S. network in primetime!
smiley1.gif

Alotta "johnny-come-lately" UFC/TUF "fans" don't know anything about the best MMA fighter (P4P & overall) of all time. Fortunately, some are becoming more aware. At the UGA/LSU game a few weeks ago, one of the fellas was saying "that bad@$$ Russian guy needs to come to the UFC", etc.
It'll be "icing on the cake" to see Fedor KO or sub "The Grim" in Round 1.

Saw my first promo on CBS for this fight during a NFL game yesterday with a full picture of Fedor and about ten to 15 seconds of hype abut him and the upcoming fight.

There will be two caste matchups on the card as Gregard Mousassi (an Armenian) will fight another black hype job (Sokoudju) who gets handled every time he steps up.

Aussie, whites still dominate MMA. Our guys comprise 5 of the top 10 and about 14 of the top 20 fighters. Don't get discouraged if our guys lose a few now and then. And there is NO WAY Fedor loses to Rogers.

You will see - two white men will KO two Great Black Nopes on 11/7 in front of a national audience of millions of DWFs munching chips, guzzling beer, farting and cheering for "their" overhyped, undertalented affletes. They are in for a rude awakening and you are in for a pleasant surprise.

Aussie, not sure if you get TUF in Australia but each week now white guys have been tapping overhyped, undertalented blacks.

And, yeah, the Brazilians who fight in UFC are mostly white. But don't forget, MMA and BJJ are huge in Brazil and they have a head start over the rest of the world.

WCB, I worry (slightly) about Fedor catching a big, lucky punch from Rogers. However, I'm thinking Fedor wins by sub or TKO/G&P in late round 1 or early round 2. In addition to avoiding the fluke punch, I'm hoping Fedor can avoid it going to the judges. I wanna see him beat this mug outright!

you guys say he might get knocked out by a fluke punch as if he has never been hit with an extremely hard punch and walked right thru it before

JCole, I VERY seriously doubt Fedor gets KO'd, but I worry about him (potentially) getting rocked with a lucky shot. He's older now & eventually time catches up with everyone...as speed/reaction time begins to fade. Chuck Liddell was known for his tough chin (+ KO power) & he's been caught a few times (as he's older now). I know Chuck's not on Fedor's level, but there's always a remote "puncher's chance". That being said...I stick with my prediction of Fedor by sub or TKO.

Fedor is my favourite sportsman on the planet. As a Russian speaker i can testify that he speaks very intelligently and lives according to the 'true' Russian ways. He should be a role model to every other sportsman.

The nature of the sport means that anyone can lose in MMA - no matter how good they are. They fact that he hasnt lost yet is absolutely mindblowing. However I dont expect him to lost against Rodgers. Time and time again people have thought that perhaps finally hes met his match, and each time he proves them wrong.
