Obviously this fight was a given based on the postfight brawl between the two in Munich following Vitali Klitschko's win over Del Boy.
This fight is all about the money. Frank Warren is promoting the event, and both boxers will probably stand to make a few million. So it makes business sense. British Boxing has refused to license this fight (as if this organization has any relevance or authority to begin with), so Frank Warren has turned to the Boxing Body of Luxembourg to license the bout.
Some British and American boxing fans are expectedly going overboard about this fight and trying to say its "the biggest fight of the year". No, its not. Neither guy is a champion, and both guys have thoroughly been dominated by a Klitschko Brother.
Haye/Chisora will probably do 35,000 fans at Upton Park. But thats small peanuts compared to Haye/Klitschko, Chisora/Klitschko, Adamek/Klitschko etc. Klitschko fights of late typically do anywhere from 35,000-60,000+.
Although Haye and Chisora stand to make good money, it will be considerably lower than either Klits makes.
So yes, this is a big fight. But its not that big and neither of these guys has half the star or money making power of a KBrother (particularly Wlad).
Noticed these candid shots of the press conference today:
Yes, that is a custom-built 7 Feet Tall Steel Cage in between Haye and Chisora, separating the two fighters so as to ensure another brawl doesn't break out.
Side view of the 7 Feet Tall Steel Cage.
Close up side view of the 7 Feet Tall Steel Cage needed to prevent a brawl between the 2 Negroes.
Personally Im expecting David Haye to win this one, probably via decision. Chisora will probably be something of a +250 underdog. Chisora has great resilience and stamina so will be dangerous in the later rounds. Haye has much more offensive skills and that should carry him through for the W though.
I will watch this fight, but I definitely wouldn't be stupid enough to pay for this fight.
I'm also expecting another 7 Feet Tall Steel Cage at the weigh in and perhaps a temporary 7 Feet Tall Steel Cage seperating the 2 Negroes in the ring immediately before the fight.
I guess in this fight we will find out which Negro was the better out of the 2 losers.
