Hope he follows through this time and stays retired for good. This hype job never won a single meaningful HW fight and his effort against Wlad and the excuses afterwards were appalling.

I think David Gaye will reemerge in the near future as long as there is a big money fight out there for him. He won't pass it up. I now truly believe he was afraid to fight Fury, I gave him the benefit of the doubt the first time he backed out. What a loser this guy is.

Haye seems to be the type that only wants to box if he thinks he's sure of winning. The only exception to this in his career was against Wladimir where he showed up in the same ring but did all he could to not participate.

It seems to me he is not confident enough to risk fighting Fury. Perhaps he's holding out for a bigger fight with Vitali? I don't know. He's done a decent job in getting both fighters and fans to believe he's a terror. I would rather like to seem him retire be gone.

I think he deserves a little more sympathy than you people are giving him. The poor "Englishman" - yeah right - has been continuously plagued by horrible injuries, like a hurted toe, and bad hair days. I was thinking that his shoulder injury was real. Silly me, I guess.

IMHO He only had one single good heavyweight win, and that was against that other "Englishman" by way of the African jungle, in his last fight.

Haye Talks of Unifying Heavyweight Titles

http://www.vitalboxing.com/article.asp?a=3598

Of course he could easily take Wilder's title and then wait it out for Vlad to retire, which was his strategy all along along with using Vlad to get a huge pay day.

If I didn't know better Haye is making ammends with boxing public for his past antics. First he donated 10 percent of his purse for Blackwell's rehab and post career and now he is ending Shannon Briggs' celebrity stalking routine. He is also saving the US taxpayer thousands a year in SSI payments to the mentally unstable Briggs......

Laughing, laughing, laughing out loud this evening!! That dope David Haye just go knocked out by Tony Bubble Bellew! Bellew, who fought most of his early career at light heavy, fought his past 8 at cruiser, and now his first at heavy against a so called top 5 heavyweight in the world. Bellew came in conditioned well enough, his balance was good and defensively showed good slip, but he's not hard puncher at heavy nor does he sustain attacks.

Haye came in without his usual 'roided-looking physique, and, as predicted by his former trainer Adam Booth, was struggling for breath after 6 rounds. Haye was flat footed from the start, swung wild hooks into the air while looking for the knockout that never was, and looked like he has learned many bad habits since laying off the roids and rarely training -one of which is leaning heavily on his front foot and leading with his face.

Had Bellew any real power, or good counter timing and technique, Haye would have been put to sleep. Instead, Bellew played position, popped enough solid shots into a tiring and faded Haye to knock him down and out of the ring in round 11. For all his boasting and bluster these past years, Haye finally got his well deserved kick in the ass he has long needed. Best of all, Haye got it good from a guy he had hand picked himself to easily beat so he could waltz into a multi-million pound fight with one of the top heavies.

Here is the fight:

To be fair to Gaye he did blow out his ankle, but he didn't look good until the injury. He looked slow on his feet and ponderous. Here was guy who was clearly 20 to 30 pounds over his ideal fighting weight who was clowning him and riding out his power shots. After his leg gave way a more experienced corner man should have pulled Haye after a round or two on the leg as that could cause permanent damage to the injured area.

Ps I loved the begging for a rematch by the previously arrogant Haye. Bellew who has pretty good business sense asked Joshua for a shot. It looks like Gaye will have to twist in the wind for a while, or maybe he can beg Briggs for a WBA regular shot.......

Haye never really bothered me. I understood his TNB to hype a fight. When in the ring, except for the Wlad fight, he brought destruction to the ring. Even in this fight he showed courage fighting on a disabled limb.

Haye's two "sensational comeback fights" were staged fake fights, "sports entertainment", like wrestling. This one was real. I hope we have finally heard the last from him.

Guy on the other forum says those first two just weren't any good. Yeah, but they were good enough to take better acting lessons.

No, Doctor Margaret Goodman in Las Vegas wouldn't be interested in giving him one of her special patent medicine neVADA drug planting tests. Joshua and Wilder? No, she definitely wouldn't be interested in testing them. Briggs? No way.

How interesting that when Wladimir fought Haye in 2011, Haye was only 30 and in his fighting prime. Fast, and strong. And Wlad still whooped his ass. I'd have liked it if Wlad were more aggressive and put him to sleep, but as it was, he still beat Haye easily.

Contrast this to yesterday's fight where Haye was around the same age that Wlad was in 2011.

2011 Wlad would have knocked the sh** out of the Bellew who showed up yesterday. in fact I think 40 year old Wlad could force him to take a ten second nap, too.

Haye's fighting style relied too much on him being fast. Once he bulked up, aged, and lost some of that speed, he became just another medium sized boxer who will be eaten alive by the likes of Joshua and the East Euro giants.

This just gives more evidence that Wlad was always better than Haye at any point in Haye's career, and that Wlad's fighting style (jab, jab, jab, tire your opponent, throw a couple of hooks for variety, then KO) is the better formula. Wlad looked to outthink and outbox, whereas Haye tried always to be more dazzling and to be an intimidating bully with his trash talk.

Interesting also and somewhat karmic is the fact that this time, Haye really DID have a foot injury.

LOL he should just retire already before some 6'6" hulk permanently destroys his brain.

Yeah, if you want to see these videos you have to jump on them within hours after the fight or they disappear. Oh well, it'll be back somewhere. It's still so funny to see Haye look so bad and get beat up by mediocre cruiser he hand picked to beat.

I didn't like his fake injuries, pull outs, the DWFs superficial idolization, and endless insults. He wronged Fury twice, and I'm certain Tyson is having a good chuckle, but I may be the only one here that likes Fury.

It happens to me too. I must remember to download the good ones before they get taken down. And - I like Fury too. I'm a fan of that big nut case!

He is most likely 1/4 or 1/8 black. Just a guess based on his looks.

Bellew's mum is mixed race so he's quatre caste.I never knew until recently, when he fought Cleverly and Stevenson i assumed he was white and looks white in the ring.In his fight with Stevenson he was dead at the weight at 175 lbs which makes sense as he's now 40lbs heavier without the weight cut.
