And Chris Johnson looks like the water boy, and yet I hear he is pretty good. What tools the DWFs are.

Good morning Truthteller,

It's my opinion danny is done with the Jets. But I think Mangini is watching closely and when Danny gets his walking papers, he'll be in Cleveland pdq.

Tom Iron...
"Mangenious" had a chance to sign Woodhead last year and he passed. I suspect if Woodhead gets cut he won't go to Cleveland. I suspect he is on the outside looking in again. The only way Mcknight gets cut is if he is real dog and refuses to practice or is a distraction in camp.

There's no way Mangina would have 2 white RBs on his roster. It breaks the unwritten league-wide rule.

Woodhead's done if he gets cut from the Jets and not put on the practice squad. The only way he would go elsewhere was if he could do other things, ie. play good on special teams. I don't know for sure but I'm guessing with his size he's not the best candidate to be busting up wedges.

It's an iron rule for white players. They have to be special team-able or they don't stick. The NFL doesn't have room for a white guy that won't do dirty work. That's why Matt Jones is toast if he don't get a receiver spot, and why he didn't get picked up before. White players are the n1ggers of the NFL and if they won't do that grunt work while they serve their racial apprenticeship or wait for a slew of injuries then they don't stick around.

Woodhead is an excellent WSTD. That IS one of the reasons that he has stuck with the Jets. Here is a small excerpt from Coach Ryan's press conference yesterday:

Danny Woodhead is always "live". Everything we ask him to do, he goes full speed. Blocks punts, runs down on kick coverage. He always agrees to do whatever is asked. A guy that you want to be successful

Needless to say, I doubt that Danny is one of the players wearing flip-flops on Hard Knocks.Edited by: FootballDad

I didn't know that but it makes sense. Good luck to him.

Here's another article on Woodhead from a couple of days ago. Although a good article, reading this is frustrating, to say the very least........

CORTLAND, N.Y.â€"Jets coach Rex Ryan has a story about Danny Woodhead. Of course he has a story. This one dates to last season's training camp, when Mr. Ryan was so upset with the performance of his third unit one morning that he opted to let his players tackleâ€" a rare occurrence.

Mr. Woodhead happened to be the running back, so Mr. Ryan shouted: Woodhead is live!

That phraseâ€"more of an incidental football philosophy, reallyâ€"has stuck. "Woodhead's always live," Mr. Ryan said this week.

Mr. Woodhead, all 5-foot-9 and 200 pounds of him, is one of the unsung, undaunted players who toil in the shadows cast by the team's resident stars. In 10 games last season, he had 15 carries for 64 yards and eight receptions for 87 yards. His most valued contributions came in practice, where he often plied his trade as a scout team dynamo. He did what was asked of him, and he did it well.

"The answer is always 'yes' from him," Mr. Ryan said.

At the same time, as he enters his third NFL season, Mr. Woodhead acknowledged feeling the pull of his own ambition. In another life, in another football universe, the 25-year-old Mr. Woodhead was an extraordinary talent. He rushed for 7,871 yards in four seasons at Nebraska's Chadron State College, a Division II program where he briefly became the NCAA's all-time leading rusher. Undrafted, he signed with the Jets and spent his rookie season on injured reserve before finding a tenuous niche with the organization last fall. He aspires for more.

"I'd like to think that the coaches see some talent in me," Mr. Woodhead said. "I hope it's notâ€"I'd like to think it's not just that I'm a hard worker, although I don't think that ever hurts. They know what they're going to get out of me."

Mr. Woodhead's finest moment as a professional came in a preseason game last September against the Philadelphia Eagles. He rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries before fading into relative obscurity throughout the regular season.

He spent a lot of time learning how to play slot receiver, a role that the New England Patriots' Wes Welker has recently glamourized. "I want to do what's best for the team," Mr. Woodhead said.

During training camp here at SUNY-Cortland, Mr. Woodhead has been operating for the most part at running back, taking his carries and waiting his turn behind Shonn Greene, LaDainian Tomlinson, Chauncey Washington and, sometimes, rookie Joe McKnight. But when he does get his hands on the football, he tends to make nice runsâ€"and he shows no fear.

He had a particularly violent head-on collision with rookie safety Donovan Warren on Wednesday. Mr. Warren's helmet popped off and ascended skyward after the impact. "I think Woodhead lost a stripe!" linebacker Bart Scott shouted, referring to Mr. Woodhead's helmet. "I bet he lost a stripe!"

Mr. Woodhead was impervious to the commentaryâ€""Bart's always talking," he said with a wry smile. He made his way back behind the line of scrimmage for another play, another carry, another hard-earned opportunity. He was live.

If only we lived in a fair world where Danny could start for a whole year. I guarantee he would probably run for between 1200-1500 yards. It will never happen though because he has the wrong color of skin. They will always keep him at the bottom of the depth chart. That is disgusting because it would never happen to any other running back that had 158 yards rushing. The guy is the all time leading college rusher ever but he sits on the bench. This is why I hate the NFL!

A spot that Wes Welker has glamourized...I like that white's are getting respect from something other than QB,TE or FB....but it's that trendy crap that might be OK for players like...Marc Mariani, Jordan Shipley, Tim Toone, Lance Long, Danny Amendola...but not Woodhead! He's a tailback....the "pigeon-hole" for white's continue!Danny could land on the 53-man roster as a "slash" like wingback/slot/tailback like Edelman is becoming??

Yeah..it makes you wonder...if he gets the chance again to rush for 158 yards in a game this pre--season; it still would not be good enough?? Send Joe McKnight to the practice squad(doubt they will let that happen)...

Wayne Chrebet and Brandon Stokley also helped to make the slot position open to White WR's and White RB's that are to small too be converted into FB's. DW would easily run for 1,000 yards and probably average over 5 YPC too if only he were allowed to start at RB...

He had 3 or 4 catches. They didn't let him run the ball even once. It's absolutley disgusting the way they have ruined his career. This is what happens to all of our guys when they try to play on Sundays. They are not wanted no matter how much talent they have.

Gentlemen,

Let's hold our fire here a bit. Woodhead had a pretty good game statistic wise. He's there. The black backup rb's, including lt, didn't show anything to speak of. Off hand, I'd say Danny, barring injury has got this team made. Also, if there's an injury to Greene, Danny is front and center all of a sudden. After Greene they're very thin at rb.

Of course, there's always the possibility I'm all wet in my assessment of the subject.

Tomlinson did nothing and had 8 carries for 17 yards. That's only slightly better than 2 yards per carry. McKnight had 13 carries for 32 yards. That's another poor performance.

I always enjoy your voice of reason for the most part in sports. I hope an affelet suffers an injury so Danny can explode on the scene!!!

McKnight, the young "skill"Â￾ player who couldn't pass a conditioning test and was vomiting during off-season OTAs, did nothing of value while essentially receiving all of Woodhead's carries last night. That didn't stop "Jaws,"Â￾ "Chucky,"Â￾ and "Mike Turdrico"Â￾ from heaping praise onto this spoiled man-boy. Tomlinson is indeed washed-up, however, he's still more talented than most of the black gimps the NFL parades around as "running backs."Â￾

Woodhead possesses true explosiveness, you know, the most supreme attribute that is supposedly the reason there are no white tailbacks starting in the NFL. Danny will only make the team because he plays special teams and provides depth at both WR and RB.

Also, I believe this will be the season in which Jim Leonard finally makes the pro-bowl and becomes a truly elite NFL safety.Edited by: Thrashen

One thing that I noticed during Woodhead's short stint in the game is how well he blocks. For a "little guy", he has no trouble picking up blocks on 250 pound linebackers, and he has tremendous timing when he releases from the backfield, he was rarely covered as the linebackers found other assignments during his short release delay.

Also, it was disappointing that the Jets didn't have the ball more in the 4th quarter. On the first of O'Connell's interceptions, the afflete receiver did not even make an effort to go to the ball. And I have to give some props to the UDFA afflete receiver Victor Cruz (Giants wideout), who did a fabulous job of playing the WR position like a white guy.Edited by: FootballDad

Come on now...don't you know Woodhead is too small at 5'-9" 195....oh wait a minute Ahmad Bradshaw is the same-size at5'-9" 198....hmm No double-standard here...the lack of mealanin is just too much to overcome in the racist NFL...

Woodhead has got "it"...he needs to go to a team that will allow him to flourish! Maybe he can go over to the Patriots after Kevin Faulk retires this season; who BTW is 5'-8" 202...Woodhead, Welker & Edelman can be the modern-day three horseman! And remind us of the old school white Celtics!

Darren Sproles is smaller than Woodhead and he started 2 games last season and got a decent amount of playing time. Leon Washington is the same height and just a few pounds heavier and he will probably be the starter in Seattle this year. There are quite a few black running backs around Woodhead's size who are allowed to play but Danny isn't.

Whiteman at a skill position equals "Rudy." That sums up the mentality of the mass of White sports fans perfectly. What a wonderfully engineered Idiocracy we live in.

....Or in this case, "sub-Rudy", since, according to the comment, Division 2 stats are the equivalent to cheating. If that were the case, some overlooked (by D1 schools) black super-afflete would have put the DII records out of reach by these pathetic "Rudy" white guys, right?? Sickening DWFs.

Yes, extremely talented white RBs and WRs are the ones who usually get overlooked. It isn't a coincidence that even though black starters still outnumber whites in the FCS and Division II at the mentioned positions, actually by a "very significant" amount in the FCS- that whites are usually among the best HBs and WRs at these levels. Our race sets most of the records here. Also, in the college fantasy football magazine I just got- it lists the top 3 FCS backs as Chase Reynolds, Kyle Minett and RB/WR Matt Szczur. However, every year the more productive white small school backs get passed over for less productive afroletes from the same competition level and the DWFs never question things. A dominant white player in college is always said to somehow lack the skills for the next level, yet a black with very similar production, film and measurables does not. There is basically PROOF Of discrimination based on these FACTS, yet these FACTS are ignored. Add to this the recent dominance of the very few guys who get a shot like Gerhart, Woodhead and Hillis in the FBS and NFL respectively. It would make sense if our few guys are playing at an "all pro" level than there must be many more whites that deserve a shot. FACTS

It will be laughable if the Jets keep McKnight over Woodhead. McKnight is garbage, I saw him play some last night...5 carries for 9 yards and had a fumble, it seems the Jets are giving him ever chance to win a spot and he is doing his best to fail.
