Two young offenders are in custody and police are looking for five others after a group of youths allegedly terrorized three women at a downtown Toronto restaurant last Saturday.
Police have received judicial authorization to temporarily publish surveillance photos of the suspects even though police believe they are under the age of 18.
One of the boys, 15, was arrested and charged with robbery on Thursday.
Police arrested a second 15-year-old on Friday and charged him with robbery as well.
The trouble started at 10:30 p.m. at a restaurant near Yonge and Grenville streets. Police say three women in their 20s entered the restaurant, and one of the males made a comment about her shoes.
The women eventually left with their food, but a group of four males followed them outside.
That’s when police say the group pounced on one of the women, throwing her to the ground and punching her. One of the youths pulled her shoe off and they tried to take her coat off but were unsuccessful, police say.
Not long after, the three women went back to the restaurant in an effort to photograph the suspects with their phones. That’s when police say they were attacked by a second group of males.
According to police, the women were dragged to the ground and punched and one of them was beaten on the head with her own cellphone.
