Trump mentioned again tonight that the malaria fighting drug may start being used very soon, maybe as early as Tuesday. Since it's already established there won't be any 12 to 18 month trial period if it helps those with the coronavirus.

I subscribe to the alternative, anti-left media and have been a longtime lurker. This crisis felt like an opportune time to join the discussion. The problems and deaths that are happening in Europe are wholly attributable to organized leftism and globalism but there won't be a peep about that in mainstream media. The fruitcakes want to focus on Trump calling it a "Chinese Virus" rather than that Italians' open borders, and desire to be anti-racist towards Chinese people has directly contributed to a bloodbath of their own citizens.

As I mentioned in my opening post, there also exists a gender dynamic with respect to this disease that the mainstream media will never dare to bring up or discuss in the context I have here (that being there is a social discrimination against the treatment of sick males and just like in the Titanic, women will be saved while men die, hows that for post modern equality and feminism)?

Do not expect the mainstream media to be upfront about any of these issues.

CovidCrisis, I hope someday in the near future you will change your username because the virus has become a thing of the past and your username will no longer be relevant...

One of the main problems is that the testing may be really far behind the curve. Perhaps many people have died with covid19 and we will never know because they weren’t tested. They say this virus was circulating in Washington state for 6 weeks undetected, so obviously the body count wasn’t high enough to raise any eyebrows. Maybe millions have already have the coronavirus and the mortality rate is quite low, but nobody really knows. If you look hard enough on the internet you can find an expert saying whatever it is you want to be true. The truth generally lies somewhere in the middle. All I know at this point is that having everything be shut down just sucks and I’m not looking forward to another Great Depression, although I fear it’s coming.

Ambrosia: Definition of ambrosia: the food of the Greek and Roman gods.

Relax. Without all of this parading of fear, hardly anyone would have noticed much seasonal change in flu illness.

But Ambrose, they didn't shut down the whole world for those. In fact nothing at all happened for those. Anyway the stock market is doing great so far today. So far it's only down 653 points!

His take is on the situation is downright utopian compared to yours.
That is absolutely not true and the truth is the exact opposite. I will address this when I have more time tomorrow. My outlook is very positive in this whole thing.

It's been reported that the worldwide death toll from the Wuhan virus has surpassed 15,000. Of course, the seasonal flu that dwid poo-poos has already killed between 23,000 and 50,000 in the US (not including other countries) THIS SEASON ALONE. But do we shut down the country for it? I guess people that die from the regular flu aren't as special as those that die from the Chinese virus.

My take is that the virus is bad, it will cause many deaths and we are prudent to raise awareness and limit exposure, but I think that the cure may be worse than the disease. If we "succeed" in collapsing the economy, causing tens of thousands of businesses to close up and millions to become impoverished, the deaths resulting from that will far exceed the virus. And this looks to be a much worse economic cataclysm than the 2008 recession which resulted in at least 10,000 deaths due to suicide. But hey, those deaths are largely white males so that just fine and dandy. A couple of months of stay-in-place laws and it will all come to fruition.

There is something peculiar about the incidence occurring in the USA. The epicenter both for occurrence and death appears to be NY state. NY has about 6 percent of the US population has 52 percent of the covid-19 cases and 26 percent of the fatal cases and both numbers appear to be rising. I do not know who Covid-19 is infecting and killing but a lot of them live in NY.

Gentlemen, Just use common sense. don't go overboard. the two groups at risk are the very young (immune system not fully up and running yet) and the old (I'm old but I never lived like most people so I think mine and my wife's immune systems are okay), immune system starting to wane. Of course, even though I was always extremely physically active and spent a lot of time outdoors, my immune system is going down too. Nobody gets away from eventually dying.
As far as the shutdown of most everything goes, there will be both good and bad that comes of it. Right now it's a pain in the neck for my wife and me but we'll be fine. Try to maintain normalcy in your lives. Don't run around like Chicken Little yelling the sky is falling. women especially depend on you for this. Keep them calm at all costs. Don't make light of this. Just go about your business in front of them and they'll climb on board with what you're doing eventually. Same with children. If you show weakness in front of them they will lose confidence in you. And learn how to cover your own faults so they don't want to criticize you. Everything's going to be fine but there will be big changes after this is all over, especially in how and where work is performed.

Reading between the lines of Trump's daily press conference today, it looks like most of the country (meaning the economy) is going to be "re-opened" within several weeks, with the hot spots being the exception. Only 8 states have at least 1,000 cases, and a bunch of states have less than 100. I would imagine "social distancing" will still be urged along with frequent hand-washing, but the realization is setting in that keeping this going and going as is in every state will quickly destroy the economy, or in Trump's words, "the cure will become worse than the disease." Given that the groups at risk are the same groups that are always at risk for flu viruses, this only makes sense.

Also, the malaria treatment drug is going to be made available to thousands of New Yorkers starting tomorrow.

It's due to the concentration of ppl living in the city.

I read about a Chinese actor and male White age 52, who were on their death beds and requested the malaria drugs. Low and behold they can back from near-death by taking them. The stories are in the DailyMailUK.com. If they work on most, it could be a game-changer. The Fed gov has ordered 20 million doses.

'Miracle' malaria drug touted by Trump saved me from coronavirus, claim Americans: Infected patients across US say hydroxychloroquine helped them recover – despite experts' insistence evidence of its effectiveness is slim

It's estimated that 31 to 51 million people have caught the flu this year in the U.S. Clearly you don't understand percentages. Even if there were 4 additional unreported cases for every reported covid case the death rate would still be 10x higher than the flu. I don't think Trump just agreed to shut things down for "just another cold"

How early intervention can change the outcomes

Perhaps that is the case

Granted NYC. has a high pop density but so does Tokyo which has far fewer cases and being almost. 100 percent NE Asian should have more. I guess the point I am trying to make is that NYC is the media center of the USA and since the people who basically own the media are in a situation where covid-19 is much more severe than anywhere lose in the USA so that their hysteria is driving the panic. Or maybe I lack perspective because I live in the boondocks of NC. My county and the 3 adjoining counties have 0 cases but our idiot Governor is about to issue a shelter in place order for the entire state.

Pregnant actress says coronavirus-provoked ban on partners in delivery rooms is 'distressing'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This made me laugh. I was in Vietnam when my first daughter was born (St. Vincent's Naval hospital in Qns. NYC. My wife wrote me she left the day after because the nurse came in with the baby and said to feed her and wash her and make the bed and to hurry up because they didn't serve breakfast past a certain hour and if she wanted breakfast, she better hurry up - so my wife called her mother to take her home if she had to do all that, what good was staying in the hospital?) and when my second daughter was born, my wife went into labor early in the morning and my in-laws came to the hospital. I gave over my daughter to them for the day and went to work. By the time I got back to the hospital in the evening after work, I had another daughter. Everything seemed to go fine without my input. after all, wasn't it my input that started the ball rolling?

What if he isn't a troll and a potential good poster doesn't post again?

Right. A few years ago a I told a friend about CF and that he would like it. He made a post or two and was jumped on pretty hard by someone here and has never posted again.

"$13,000,000 to Howard University"

Howard University is a remedial affirmative action skool for blacks only. They stick in all their pork barrel specials. This is always going on in this "democracy" con game. There's probably even more buried in the fine print on page 666 or something, like $2 mil to "renovate the olympic sized swimming pools and theaters and tanning parlors in all six of my houses". This money, of course, comes from what's squeezed out of what's left of the American working class, the very ones they so badly want to disarm, for obvious reasons.

Pelosi's bill is 1,400 pages chock full of ********. The bill that failed last weekend, hideous though it was, was only 400 pages or so. That's how egregious the Democrat bill is. They don't give a rats ass about you.
