Cooper Flagg

Yeah, probably the worst half I've seen Flagg play. He typically comes out a little slow, but quickly gets it going, usually. He didn't get it going until the second half last night scoring 23 second half points and finishing with 28 points, 7 boards, 3 assists and a couple of blocked shots. The way NC State came out throwing up 3's and making them was unusual for them. They were 9-10 coming into this game, but Duke is going to get everyone's best shot as they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. It's the second time in as many games a very young Duke team has come from behind to win. Duke was down by as many as 13 points in the first half! Kon Knueppel finished with 19 points and 6 boards.
Don, interestingly, I haven't seen the typical fan hatred of White Duke players on Flagg just yet, however they still have to go to Chapel Hill later this year. The play them at home on Saturday.

With his age it shouldn't be a factor but Flagg admitted that himself and his teammates were tired playing 2 hard games in 3 days. Coach told him he was playing soft and Cooper Flagg responded. Article on espn where I read this yesterday.

Unless I’m mistaken, it will be vs a coal black NC team. I would imagine some elbows and cheap shots will happen in this rivalry game.

UNC has Cade Tyson, but after scoring 20 points in a game earlier this year they decided to stop playing him. Yes, Carolina has already been hooking Flagg, but he has responded with 6 points, 4 assists, 3 boards and 2 steals in the first 3 minutes. All of this and he's battling sickness. They didn't say if it was just a cold, Flu or what.
Flu is running rampant down here in Carolina!

Flagg's first half stat line: 13 pts./ 5 ast/ 4 reb/ 2 stl./ 2 blks. Displaying his all round talent. In baseball terms he would be called a five tool player!

Flagg ended up with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks! A Five Tool BB Player! Kon Knueppel had a great game as well. Finishing with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
Flagg should've had more points, but missed a few free throws and a couple easy lay ins around the basket, however the announcers said he'd been battling illness this week.
One of the many things I love about Flagg and Knueppel for that matter is they are both very aggressive with their play. Whether taking the shot, trying make steals and especially with Flagg the ability to block shots. Knueppel is really aggressive in trying get his shot off whether he's going inside or taking a three! Flagg can just take over a game almost all by himself as he does everything well!! Very impressive.
I had lost interest in watching basketball, because when I would see the lone white player be so passive. As soon as they would touch the ball, it was give it right back to a black player. Not with Knueppel or Flagg. Both players look to make a play not relying on their black teammates all the time!
Hopefully this will be a trend going forward and other aggressive white players will emerge.

The lack of aggressiveness from white Americans was very frustrating for me as well. Most of them seemed to be content floating around the perimeter and launching an occasional three. I’m happy that Flagg and Knuppel are changing that trend.

When white men assert themselves, whether in sports or society or business, great things happen. It is in our blood.

Flagg and Duke will be at Syracuse tonight at 7:00. It will be on ESPN 2, not ESPN, so I guess I'll have to try and get it on youtube? Any other suggestions?

Cooper Flagg and Duke to follow the Lakers game on ESPN at 6:30. Let's hope the Lakers game ends on time so we can watch the entire Duke/Clemson game. Should be a tough test for Duke going into Clemson, 10-2 in the ACC and has a veteran squad.

Flagg didn't play his best last night as Duke loses 77-71 to tough Clemson. Number 1 Auburn also lost.
Flagg was just 2-11 and several turnovers in the first half, but was 4-6 including 3 clutch 3 pointers to keep Duke close. They had a chance to tie or go ahead at the end, but Flagg tried to plant his foot to stop and slid across a wet floor and was called for a travel. That pretty much ended the game.
Flagg finished with 18 points. Knueppel had 14.
Clemson's Lakhin played Flagg tough and had 22 points. He was the leading scorer. Schieffelin has 12 points for Clemson.

Flagg finishes with 27 points, 5 boards and 3 assists and a couple of steals dominating California 78-57.

It was nice to see him come out aggresive in the first half for a change. As a leader and future first round draft pick he needs to do this every game. Especially when your shot isn't falling. Take it to the hole and dominate. He is almost unstoppable down low in the paint!

Nice bounce back game for Flagg. He is supremely talented. Remember: he skipped his senior year of high school. He is young and getting better.

Flagg named ACC Rookie of the week again! He scored 19 points against Stanford in only 28 minutes. He also had 6 assists and 5 rebounds on Saturday as Duke destroyed Stanford 106-70! Duke is at Virginia tonight at 8 on ESPN!
Stanford's Maxime Raynaud scored 19 and had 7 rebounds.
